The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Evening everyone.

I'm a little bit down tonight (sorry for miserable post), just pretty sure I'm not pg this month either. I know it's only my third month of trying, I really don't know how anyone holds out for over a year without going mad! I'm just sick of this every month getting excited, then being extremely disappointed. And I know our families are secretly waiting for us to say we're pg, every month feels like I'm a disappointment Sad

On the plus side, my best mate sent one of those 'send this to x people and you'll have x days of good luck' texts and although I don't usually pay any attention to those, it said strong people say they're fine even with tears in their eyes, and that karma saw my sadness and said hard times are over. Bless her! Just what I needed, and DH bought me plenty choccy to drown my sorrows! Grin

Sorry to hear about your confusion NoMore, that's what I find the hardest - not knowing what's going on. At least if you've got AF you know for definite.

JosieSmith1 · 12/09/2010 21:52

Bloody Sophie Dahl Envy

And I've just been on my facebook and came across a piccy of my friend with her new neice who was only born a few weeks ago and shes so cute EnvyEnvyEnvy Pooey

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/09/2010 22:04

Josie I'll send my DS around to yours. He's wide awake and all but bouncing off the walls. Either he'll put you off having kids (for a few hours at least) or make you smile (and I'll get some quiet!).

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 08:28

Grin thanks NoMore.

I feel worse today as DH was playing on his computer so late last night he slept on the settee. There's nothing better when you're miserable about not being pg again than waking up on your own. I feel like he doesn't know I'm even here at the minute! Sorry if TMI but, he doesn't want sex, ever, unless I start it, he rarely comes to bed with me and often sleeps on the settee "as he's up late and doesn't want to wake me"

I left him a big note this morning (starting Dear Santa...) with a list of his priorities, me being somewhere in the middle, saying basically that he doesn't realise how much housework I do and that he makes a mess.

Then (this is awful in hindsight) I put 'please don't send us a baby, I am tired and DH won't help, and he won't even realise we're here'. Shock Is that terrible?!

Sorry, I don't normally go on about my problems but I have to get it off my chest somehow. I know it'll all work itself out in the end, just needed a rant

BrassicaBabe · 13/09/2010 09:59

Sorry you are having a crappy time josie Have you got other DCs? Is DH fully behind ttcing? Could he be avoiding a the possibility of a BFP on some level? It's difficult to get a feel for a situation from a few sentances here and there.

when I first joined MN I remember thinking how there where some barmy women on here obsessing about TTCing and gettng overly emotional when AF arrived. Well, 7 months later and I now understand!! I am now one of those women! BlushGrin

I think you are quite reasonable to have the occasional meltdown. Try not to worry.

baby2b · 13/09/2010 10:44

Sophie may be pregnant, but she has sacrificed heels to date Jamie Cullum! What next...no wine?! Grin

Hope you are feeling a little better after your rant Josie. I agree that the excitement build up and then getting pmt is not good for the soul....or my husband for that matter.

Decided I'm not testing until Wednesday, but have a large list of AF symptoms including:
sore boobs
sore stomach
grumpy at the dishes not being cleaned properly
really tired

Only weird symptom is I had loads of pant snot the past couple of days? (didn't furkle for it :))

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 10:46

Thanks Brassica. I don?t think he?s secretly avoiding having kids, he?s made no secret of always wanting them and has just been waiting for me to be ready really. I think I?m partly to blame for the lack of sex problem ? when I was on the pill my libido went down dramatically and I think he?s just got used to asking and being told no, so now he doesn?t bother. I suspect that?s it anyway but he?s so busy on his game or watching tv I can?t really talk to him about it. I?ve tried, and I will get him to actually listen eventually, I just need him to realise that I need some attention at the minute. I think he thinks relationships just work, he doesn?t seem to realise that you?ve got to make an effort sometimes. We?ll get back on the straight and narrow eventually, it?s not something I?m willing to split up over so we?ll be fine, just need to have a little heart to heart methinks!

I?m glad I can have a bit of a moan on here, like most of us, I haven?t told many people we?re TTC so there? not many people I can talk to, and I feel daft moaning to best mate every month!

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 10:52

Cross post B2B. Grin at Sophie Dahl giving up heels, I saw a piccy of them and they did look a bit mismatched! And yes, ha ha, she has to give up wine Grin There?s pros and cons to both sides of this TTC malarkey isn?t there, e.g. BFP would be great, but if BFN, I can enjoy my riding a bit more and won?t get fat anytime soon (no offence meant to any lovely pg ladies on here of course!) Grin

I forget to take into account that we?re a complicated gender and poor DH probably doesn?t know if he?s coming or going most of the time! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 13/09/2010 11:02

Well, that's good josie. Maybe DH just needs to feel the Jsing love to realise the pill has left your system and you are back to yourself GrinWink

Hope AF/pg symptoms aren't messing too much with your head b2b

baby2b · 13/09/2010 11:08

Thanks Brassica, I think I have come through the madness and am now just sure AF is in the post. I could have attributed most of them to being pg, but the grumpyness is def my evil friend pmt Grin It has been a long month!

Is the craziness starting to kick in for you yet? I have spent the past week on google searching early pregnancy symptoms, due date calculators, week by week pregnancy etc Blush I am a shameful jser, lol. Though I didn't test early :)

BrassicaBabe · 13/09/2010 11:17

Crazy?! Me?! Are those little crampy feelings I'm having or trapped wind?! GrinBlush

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 11:27

God don't get me started on crazy symptom spotting Grin

I'm pretty sure AF is arriving soon too, due friday, which is better than last month when I was convinced I was pg thanks the aforementioned crazy symptom spotting Grin So I shouldn't be too disappointed this month.

Thanks for making me feel better MNers Grin

Sorry you think AF is on the way B2B Sad

Here's hoping it's not trapped wind Brassica Grin

takethatlady · 13/09/2010 11:32

Sorry you're having a hard time josie.

If we're checking into the JS asylum today I might as well ask: anyone else know the due date of the baby they're not yet (but might be) pregnant with? Grin Mine's 30th May. I think star signs are a total load of old BS but it would be Gemini, which seems nice enough Grin

baby2b · 13/09/2010 11:35

In a word takethat...yes Blush. It's one of my guilty pleasures looking up these silly sites! I would be 26th May 2011, lol.

BrassicaBabe · 13/09/2010 11:36

Budge up in that padded cell....2nd June Grin

OP posts:
takethatlady · 13/09/2010 11:38

Yay for our summer babies. A summer birthday would sort of make up for having a crazy mother, wouldn't it?

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 11:40

Me too! Haven't this month yet but did last month. Must admit I have been tempted this month toddles off to look it up

I have an excuse though! Best mate is getting married in June so I need to make sure I'm not due around that time, which means no JSing for about the next 2 months just in case I'm due just before and go over, and I don't want to be maid of honour 8 months pg (7 or less I can deal with just about Grin) so that's another 2 months at least of BFN.

I bet these 2 months are the months DH decides to give it his all [not impressed face]

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 11:46

27th May 2010!!!! God it's disheartening when it says 'you are 3 weeks pregnant' Sad

crowette · 13/09/2010 12:03

Afternoon ladies!

I know I said I'd wait til Weds to test again, but knowing that I'm going to the docs in the morning anyway for another reason, I thought I'd use the test I have hanging around just now - got a very faint line (compared to the absolutely nothing last week) Confused

I'm still not getting too excited til I've seen the Dr tomorrow, but eeek!!

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 12:09

Oooo Crowette tentative congrats! Grin

takethatlady · 13/09/2010 12:10

josie don't be disheartened - you'd only be 7dpo if you were 3 weeks preggo so nothing would be showing up on the test yet.

crowette, remember, a line is a line! (Unless you took the test apart half way through, like me Grin) Sounds very positive to me!

crowette · 13/09/2010 12:16

Hahah Thanks ladies!

I've taken a photo of it on my phone to show OH, as it says to disregard the results after 15 mins, so I can get him to look at it too. I keep looking at the photo, and there IS a line, just much fainter than the control line. Oooooh eck!

It'll be 11 years since I last did this, what have I done??!!

milanomum · 13/09/2010 12:36

ooooohhh crowette that's exciting! fingers crossed.

Josie - men are weird. Nuff said.

Good luck for those on the 2ww of insanity.

Pretty sure spotting is AF :( but if she doesn't sort herself out i'll do a test wed morning just in case because I've booked a dental appointment and don't want to risk it.

summer babies = outdoor walks, picnics in the park, happy people, holidays, sunshine ... ahhhhh! the only negative is that post-pregnancy flab is hard to hide under flimsy tops ... but i could live with that :)

(wonders if nomorechoc is ok...)

vallinnapod · 13/09/2010 13:24

Well, back at work...and back from a baseline dildocam scan! Can I never excape...Got bolshy when they told me I'd have to see a nurse to explain my treatment (I can just about grasp 'take two tablets once a day.....') so they told me they'd get her/him to ring me instead :o) My 10 day scan is going to have to wait too as really busy at work that day...oh, well (look at this chilled out attitude! I give it...ohhh....an hourday Wink)

thanks for the bunting brassica

NMCB is AF in lost luggage??!

Josie sorry you are feeling down. It's horrible but all of a sudden you'll feel positive again. Hormones and expectations are an evil combo Sad

Crowette - fab faint news!

Those of us still PIAJ/PIAR our good friends at M&S have cottoned on to our plight. They have a DIVINE new Gastropub pud range (with the Food To Go) - naughtyness like Blackberry Panacotta and Rubard & Custard Crumble (a cold dessert type one). They come in perfect pee sized cups!! Thanks Stuart Rose! I may have just eaten one of each....just to collect the jars of course....
