Come along, we haven't got all day. Pop off your blazers and straw boaters for a mo and listen up. As Head Girl, I think you ought to know that my dear chum Darrell Rivers tells me that we're really letting the side down with our lack of baybee-winning. To that end, instead of prep and lacrosse, we'll be TTC. I know some of us are losing hope that we'll ever win the Motherhood Cup for our house, but chins up and think of England! We don't won't to end up like the bitter, childless, dried-up old spinsters running this place, do w... oh, hello Matron! Yes, yes, we're going now...

Super! We've been given the attic dorm - bagsy the bed by the window, what! We won't be disturbed when we're enjoying midnight feasts, unbridled lesbianism, pillow fights and sneaking in fellows from the nearby boy's school for some ghastly dreadfulness.

So let's pop some Joyce Grenfell on the gramophone and crack open the tuck boxes! Mater's made me a huge ginger cake and oooh, I see someone's brought pontefract cakes! Yummo! Humbugs, sherbet, elderflower fizz, eccles cakes, a whole slab of choccy - what a simply smashing haul! Hmmm, this ginger beer smells suspiciously gin-like...

Oh yes

William Hague is the only Tory I can stomach. Never really understood why Confused. This is terribly sad. I am going to look at the thin-bashing fred

Casserole · 01/09/2010 21:59

How hideous for the Hagues to have to 'come out' like that and for those reasons.

Sometimes the meeja in the country are no better than scum. I hope some of them are feeling bad tonight.

Saladbomb · 01/09/2010 22:08

They won't be feeling bad. They will be rubbing their hands with glee, hoping that the marriage will fail under the pressure so they will have more dirt to publish. Fucking twats.

Saladbomb · 01/09/2010 22:24

Hmm, strange, i have just found out that another couple in our group of friends is having trouble TTC. The boy has discussed it with his freind and said it is ok for him to tell his GF that we are in the same boat. I wonder if she will speak to me about it. Its odd because I was going to say something when we were out on Monday but held back as I feel I may have been a bit too open about it all which is going to get harder the longer things go on and nothing happens. Now I wish I had. Oh well, I am sure it will come out in the wash.

Saladbomb · 01/09/2010 22:38

Hmm, must be after lights out in the dorm....

Truffkin · 01/09/2010 23:00

Hi Salad I'm just about off to bed but couldn't resist one last check in. I'm wondering if it might be nice to have a real life person to talk to. My best friend has been trying for 2 years so I know I could talk to her if I need to at any point. Did your boyfriend say if he'd talked to his friend about how he's feeling? Might be good for him too. BTW had to post on AIBU fred, maked me larf

Scorpette · 01/09/2010 23:28

Well, I'm still here, reading Nancy Mitford under the covers with a torch Grin

Soppy fool that I am, I want to write a letter to the Hagues basically saying You Are Not Alone Sad There must have been a lot of crying in their home, agreeing that to stop the lies, they had to open up their grief to the world. So brave. I hate his politics, but he is clearly devoted to Ffion.

I'm just wondering how the tabloids will spin them being caught out on slandering a happily married man like they have done - bet they'll say that the stress off TTC has turned him gay or some shit like that, to cover their tracks!

BESH SMASH! Angry

Ooops, meant to add that I think it might be good to let your friend know that you're in the same boat, Salad. Would be v good to get support here and in RL

Morning BESHes. I am up early making more damson gin. Have to start work soon tho :(

Trufflestiltskin, I think it might turn into a battle of the sexes tbh. The only thing he said they discussed was all the things they were being pressured into giving up in order to improve the white goods (coffee/excessive exercise etc). Feelings? Ha!! what are those?

scorps Unfortunately, we don't see each other that often due to geography although the boys do lots of sport together. I am going to leave her to get in touch with me online if she wants to but will talk to her next time we see each other face to face. Hopefully that won't be ages. I agree it will be nice to have a RL friend to talk to who is in the same boat although I have cinco too.

polstar if you are about, thank you so much! the book arrived yesterday. I will be reading aloud after lights out and there will be a test, gels, so pay attention.

ForzaDelDestino · 02/09/2010 08:24

You've been rumbled

hunting in packs across the boards is really VILE behaviour

yak

Saladbomb · 02/09/2010 08:35

Excuse me? What are you on about?

Muser · 02/09/2010 09:01

I've never been hunting. Fishing once.

laurielou · 02/09/2010 09:12

Welcome forzo Confused.

Stalking across the boards is DELIGHTFUL behaviour Confused

owlshoes · 02/09/2010 09:18

Morning, all you lovely BESHes.

Ooo damson gin salad , my favourite. I made elderberry cordial last night and now the kitchen looks like the aftermath of a chainsaw massacre.

Talking to RL people is good for the blokes, I reckon - the old chap talked to his sister and it turned out she'd lost a baby at 15 weeks. I think before this he was fretting a bit that his dodgy ancient swimmers were to blame and It Had Never Happened To Anyone Else Ever = ManFail.

Don't like W.Hague due to smugness but really do think they've obviously been through enough without the arsehole tabloid scum reporters making their lives a misery. Angry Shitty tabloids.

I like the idea of us hunting in a pack. We'd be terrifying. Especially if Scorps brings 'Luella.

ForzaDelDestino · 02/09/2010 09:20

following a link is hardly stalking, non?

clicky me to see what this is all about

Saladbomb · 02/09/2010 09:22

Oh I see, as you were.

Lozzer any more thoughts re: the 9th? I haven't really thought if anything else apart from making sure i get an HSG (I am now convinced my tubes are blocked by tumbleweed and old bits of lego) and the boy gets to JIAP again. I am bricking it a bit that they are going to tell me I am too old for treatment now or the PCT have changed the rules blah blah. Thats just me menkulling tho i think. Wonder if mountie has any inspired questions. Or if we should play that game where we get points for inserting stupid words or phrases into the conversation without anyone noticing :D Just to lighten the mood?

Saladbomb · 02/09/2010 09:27

Not really interested tbh Forza - from what I can see two or three people from this thread posted on another thread and commented on a rather rude persons behaviour. That hardly constitutes a 'pack' and there was really no need for you to involve the rest of us. (in fact posting the link again is only likely to make the situation worse)

If, however, you have any useful tips on how to get pregnant at an 'advanced' age or have any experience with fertility treatment that you think might be of interest then please post those. Thanks.

Muser · 02/09/2010 09:36

I don't get it. Are we not allowed to post on other threads or something? If I see an interesting thread may I not link to it? How very strange.

ForzaDelDestino · 02/09/2010 09:39

of course you may

but referring to posters on another thread as bitches and cows is asking for trouble and is Very bad form indeed

PerfectDromedary · 02/09/2010 09:44

Can we all please STFU now?

Thread-stalking or hunting in packs are probably both equally bad behaviour, really. I'm not sure who's picking what fight, but frankly I'm grumpy and so would like everyone to stop. Before this turns into a ridiculous insult war.

Forza Commendable though it is to leap to someone else's defence - as I think may have happened elsewhere with some posters from this thread - this thread is mostly filled with people talking about not being able to get pregnant. Please sod off.

Muser · 02/09/2010 09:52

Anyway. Where are we with symptom spotting?

MrsFC · 02/09/2010 09:53

Forza Blah blah blah. Don't you have anything better to do?? Cripes.

Saladbomb · 02/09/2010 09:55

yep I think a change of subject is in order. How come you are grumpyhumps today drom? general hormones?

no symptoms here, think salty is still in the running?

Tried to SWI last night but I got very ticklish and giggley and could do it. This happened every now and then, I think i am a freak. :(

Saladbomb · 02/09/2010 09:56

couldN'T i meant

MrsFC · 02/09/2010 09:59

Ooh yes - salts, what's the score with symptoms?

And salad, I think sometimes giggling is more important. Can you try again tonight? Is the window still open?
