Velvetcu · 18/09/2010 16:18

Hello all

I havent read back so hope everyone is good.

Do we have some more BFPs lurking at the top of the list?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/09/2010 01:29

Hello all

well I got through the wedding. Right up until the end, and DH was dancing with all his family and I was just stood there watching them because I couldn't bear to be dancing away with them, and DH looked over at me and I crumbled...

So I couldn't handle it and I don't really know why, but clearly I'm not coping as well as I thought I was Sad. Why is it all just so shit?!!

MummyAbroad · 19/09/2010 02:52

Sending you a big hug Izzy,

I guess there is nothing like being around a bunch of people enjoying themselves to make you realise you are not really in the same boat. Sorry you are feeling so shit. Remember that it is good to go at your own pace though, you will feel like dancing when you feel like dancing and there is no point forcing it to happen sooner.

I am having a crappy day too. It is the "anniversary" of when my husband got ran over by a bus and had to have half his foot amputated. (sorry for the very morbid story, but its true) Its been 4 years and he is still waiting for his prosthesis to be finished (Costa Rican health care is ABYSMAL)

Would really like some good news to just appear in our lives - and for my sense of humour to come back, cant find it anywhere!

Jamface Back in a normal cycle! Well done Smile
Chockybic Enjoy your hols!

nickstermum · 19/09/2010 07:50

Izzy You will get there toots! Im where you are at the min. Work i get through but forget anykind of socialising. New name Hermit! Glad you enjoyedgot through most of it. If you dont feel like dancing thats fine, am sure you are coping just fine... weddings are emotional days at the best of time!

is it too early for wine?

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 19/09/2010 09:32

hi, just quickly popping my head in to see how you are all doing.
~passes out lots of cookies and hot chocolate~

nickstermum it's never too early for wine.

I didn't manage to read all the thread thanks to DS watering our carpet while screaming in my ear. any lurky BFPs?

I'm all booked and official now, and according to the mw she's put me at 11+2. Almost at the next milestone.

tigger15 · 19/09/2010 10:27

Hello everyone thanks for the advice. I guess if I get desperate enough I'll get out the diaphragm.

Mummyabroad I am 17 cycles past a miscarriage with no success at conceiving. Plus I am type 1 diabetic which makes each try incredibly stressful. I've been investigated for fertility problems found to have none and am not eligible for any more assistance on the NHS. So I really really need a break where I don't have to worry about keeping my blood sugar in control and all the complications that will happen to a baby if I don't.

SFF was sex for fun but thanks for the many variants.

I've emailed Sarahmia and had some responses but this is obviously a very difficult time for her. Hopefully the coming year will be better (we're at the start of the Jewish new year).

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/09/2010 10:44

sorry you're having a crappy time too, hope your DH is doing ok? 4 years is a hideously long time to wait, I really hope they manage to sort it out soon. My dad lost part of his hand in am industrial accident (not the same as a foot I know but I have some small appreciation of how life-changing these injuries can be) and if you're still waiting for prosthesis or other medical treatment to be completed it must feel like you can't get any sort of closure on it. Anniversaries can be especially hard with all the memories they can revive. Hope your day gets better.

nickstermum - thanks for the wine (at this time?!!!). Big social occasions are surprisingly hard, but you're right, we will get there. I actually am quite proud of getting through most of night ok, and only DH and BIL were aware I was upset at end so a small victory!

tigger - hope you're doing ok and enjoying the not stressing for the minute.

finally, ivy so pleased things are going well for you, it's lovely to hear some positive news Smile

MummyAbroad · 19/09/2010 15:25

Thanks for choccies Ivy
Thanks for kind words Izzy

Tigger sounds like a really rough ride. Hope you feel better for a rest.

I am still BFN. Sigh.

Ivy Great news you are nearly there Grin everything crossed you continue with sticky bean status plus 12 wks and are in for a very boring remaining 6 months

MumA Ah so sorry you are not feeling ok :( echoing izz, 4 years is a mighty long time to wait. Hope you get some sanity from them very soon, and that today doesnt bring you too many hideous memories. Trust that BFN to still be around on such a rubbish day. Chin up toots :)

Jamface, glad you can start charting etc properly now and know where you are at. I am still waiting.

Well DH and i have managed to DTD once a week so far, no point rushing if theres no egg huh! Been fun :) and its quite nice to get back into it (if you like!) Have decided that OPKs i got from tesco were crap so i wont use those. (easier to blame the tools Grin ) Still debating about CBFM, but would prefer to use it as it gives you 5 day window rather than two so prob will :)probably a bit more reliable also !

Last night i was so bloody emotional. Tortured myself watching "16 and Pregnant"!! SAt blarting for ages, but i think it does you good! Felt so de stressed this morning :)

Hope you are all good.... hoping AF arrives this week

kat2504 · 19/09/2010 19:39

I thought the ov tests from tesco were ok. I did get what looked like a just about pos result, with a very faint line the day before and the day after. But have been on the internet to get some even cheaper ones for next month. Can't really afford the cbfm. But agree five day window is better so hope you have some luck with it. I did ov tests twice a day on the two days I htought a positive result was most likely and that worked for me.
But silly me. Whilst on website got some ultra early 10 whatevers preg tests. Aaargh! Please someone slap me with a very large wet fish. Promised myself I would not be doing the bfn rollercoaster and would wait till RTD was actually late. Now, when they arrive in the post I will be sooo tempted.

nickstermum · 19/09/2010 20:48

Kat i got lines, but i couldnt work out whether they were the same, fainter or darker!!! As i said "blaming the tools"! or was it the interpretation?! Grin I cant afford the CBFM either hence the debate about getting one. lots on ebay Kat!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/09/2010 21:14

nickstermum - glad you're feeling a bit better today, it seems we're all having a bit of an emotional weekend Sad. Hugs all round, and here's hoping your cycle gets itself in order asap.

kat - step away from the HPTs!!! I am definitely hanging on until AF overdue this month, don't want to see any more BFNs.

I am on my second cycle with CBFM and have to admit I am questioning whether it was worth the £50 I spent on it on eBay. Last month it gave me no peaks at all, just 13 days on high, and tbh we just got fed up with all the purposeful shagging and I think it became counter-productive. It does get great reviews though so I'm sticking with it for now. I'll keep you updated on how this month goes, am hoping it will be a bit more enlightening!

Jamface · 19/09/2010 21:46

I'm sorry you found the wedding difficult Izzy. By the end of it you were probably knackered with keeping up the effort of trying to appear 'normal' to everyone, so no wonder one look from your DH at the end finished you off. You should be proud of yourself that you got through it. It's not easy being in a big crowd of happy people when you're feeling sad.
MummyA How awful about your DH. It might be a too simplistic attitude to take but I do think things happen in waves. Last year my DH was diagnosed with MS, and then I had the 2 unsuccessful pregnancies, but I do think my luck, and yours, will change. We'll look back on this period in our lives in years to come and think 'God, that was a really crap time, but I got through it and things got better again.' We just need to hang on in there. And from your posts I certainly don't think you are missing a sense of humour. Smile
tigger I'm sorry you've had such a rough time of it too and really hope things get easier for you and you get the break you deserve.
Congratulations Ivy. It's really great that there are so many happy pregnancy stories on this thread too.
xx

LadyBee · 19/09/2010 22:06

glad I'm not the only one torturing herself with tv, I watched Special Deliveries AND Cherry has a Baby on catch up while DH was putting DS to bed. Glutton for punishment huh?!

Sorry to those of you having difficult emotional battles this weekend. It's draining sometimes. I think it's important to try to be kind to ourselves as much as possible, not set expectations too high.

I hope the coming week brings good things.

nickstermum · 20/09/2010 07:36

lady have been pretty good with the torture lately... tortured myself with that, then sat and read the mahoosive thread about still birth at 33 weeks which put my misery in a little more light... the sadness of that made me so sad :( and also grateful we hadnt had to endure that in some funny sort of sense.

WELL - my lovely ladies, RTD arrived this morning in its full glory! CD1 for me UCL 30 - 35+ will update the list later. Am ready and waiting with 'i-period' app on my phone (which i think is awesome!)

Have a good day :)

appleblossoms · 20/09/2010 08:38

Hello helloo. Forgive the short post...back from holiday and haven't had time to read through everything yet. Had a lovely relaxing time away but pleased to be home.
Hello to new peeps, sorry you find yourself here.
dasch how'd the iui go? Was thinking of you.
Will pop back later for a proper catch up.

appleblossoms · 20/09/2010 08:45

Hello helloo!
Am back from my hols...had a lovely time in the sun. Survived the journey with ds, but am now officially sick of chugginton as only two of downloads worked so ds insisted watching them over and over and over!

Glad to be home though, and excited to start using my opks for the first time, ha ha!
Will be back later to catch up properly. But hello to all new peeps...sorry you find yourself here, it is a great place to share the ups and downs though!
dasch been thinking of you hun, hope your iui went well...got my fx for you!

appleblossoms · 20/09/2010 08:48

Stoopid phone told me it couldn't post my message so wrote it all again...but looks like it lied to me. Oh the betrayal! ;)

DachshundsRule · 20/09/2010 09:01

apple Seemed to go OK, DH smug about what they said about his swimmers. Officially I test next Wednesday. Not that I've been madly symptom spotting already. No, not me!

MamaPower · 20/09/2010 09:13

Whooop for af Nicks! Hon that's great news. I use Period tracker, think they're all much of a much but might just check out I-preriod!

Have a good week all x

Wombat33 · 20/09/2010 10:24

Morning all! I've been away for the weekend and couldn't get this thread on my phone, hence no posts. Went to a reunion dinner which I really was not in the mood for, but enjoyed it in the end. A couple of wobbles (2x preg announcements...), but generally okay. Well done at the wedding Izzy.

I'm on CD15 here and got a smiley face on the OKP this morning bang on time. I can't quite believe despite letting me down with the bean two weeks ago, my body can apparently do this bit perfectly - why can't that extend to the rest!?! So frustrating, but of course I am pleased to see things seem to be returning to normal. So it's SWI time in the Wombat house.

Kat I couldn't get to grips with the OPKs with lines - I could never work out which line was heavier/lighter than the other. So I though, in for a penny in for a pound (or in for several pounds, in for even more!) and bought the digi ones. They work well for me and give me at least an illusion of being in control of this process!

Choccy hope you're feeling better today and enjoy your hols!

MA Gosh 4 years is a long time to wait! I hope the 'anniversary' was not too difficult and your DH gets his prosthesis soon. PS I also don't think you've lost your sense of humour!

Tigger Enjoy the SFF, it sounds like you deserve a break.

Jam it sounds like you and your DH have been through the mill too. Life is never straight forward is it?

It often seems that everyone else breezes through life, and it's only us who get thrown wildly off course. But reading all your stories makes me feel like the bad luck really does get spread around, it's just that people don't talk about all the stuff going wrong in their lives. I wouldn't wish these events on anyone, but somehow it also makes me feel better that we're not the only ones who experience these 'bumps in the road'.

Nicks YAY for RTD and the start of the next cycle!!! I'll have to look into that iPhone app - I'm getting my new (and first ever) iPhone tomorrow!!!

Dachs testing Weds as in two days time, or a week and two days?? We need to know these things so we can get ridiculously excited/nervous too!!!

Hi LadyB, Loola, MamaP, Silly, and Apple (glad you had good hols).

nickstermum · 20/09/2010 10:37

Whoop wombat Grin keep the noise down, trying to work over here!

shitforbrains · 20/09/2010 11:07

I haven't caught up.

I just want to whinge.

I have had a really shitty time.

My erpc on the 1st Sept was not good. I lost too much blood and was held in to see if I needed a transfusion. They thought I would be ok, so I went home. Recovery slow but uneventful.
Tuesday 7th I got gastro and was shitting and puking all over the shop for 3 days, and the bleeding down below was heavier.

Friday 10th I went on holiday, no longer puking but still bleeding a LOT of very heavy, thick, jellied black blood (tmi much!)

By Wed 15th I was really feeling very ill indeed, so went to see the medical centre on the holiday site who rushed me off to hospital, where I had blood tests and was told I had anaemia, an infection post-op and a problem clotting.

I am just really sad as I think I will be on the WTTC list for some time. I am still not quite right :(

Wombat33 · 20/09/2010 11:15

Oh brains that sounds horrible for you. Big hugs. I hope things are improving now?
