Swim wrigglers swim!!! Grin and I guess 'float egg float' - although that doesn't sound quite right Blush. I guess this is the one bit of the childbearing process that involves the boy element doing more work than the girlie bit!

Lord, I think my hormones have turned me into an imbecile.

Good luck hairy I'm thinking of you and all the other lovely ladies who are in a similar position (on the 2WW that is, not lying on their backs... I try hard not to think too much about that bit when it comes to other people...). Someone on here once suggested to me lying with your bum on a pillow and legs in the air propped up against a wall. No idea if it helps but it shows willing and gives my DH something to laugh at!! If babies were given as prizes for doing bizarre (and probably useless) things to try to aid conception, I'd be well on my way to a football team by now Grin

Wombat33 · 10/09/2010 13:24

Oh that reminds me, must buy more grapefruit juice on the way home...

appleblossoms · 10/09/2010 13:39

Wow caribou What exciting news!! Hurray hurray!! Congratulations... wishing you a very uneventful 8 months. :)

PV Glad you're sticking around. Your posts made me smile lots in the beginning when I first had my mmc, and kept drawing me back here!

Dasch is your IUI this weekend? Forgive me for being a bit clueless about what it involves, but good luck...and i hope it goes well and you get that elusive BFP!

Good luck to those of you on the 2ww, hope there are some nice BFP's when I return from holiday...

MummyA I've got a bag packed of things to bring out one by one for DS...and a few cbeebies programmes downloaded to my phone for emergencies. I'm hoping my fellow easyjet passengers will enjoy listening to In the Night Garden and Chuggington....

See you all in a week

hairytriangle · 10/09/2010 14:07

"If babies were given as prizes for doing bizarre (and probably useless) things to try to aid conception"

oooh ooh I like that idea!!!!! Grin

See you in a week appleblossom

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/09/2010 14:36

Am liking the idea of babies as prizes for effort.

Happy hols appleblossoms

Dachs - good luck with the IUI - will keep my fx for you.

In the interests of staying positive and taking control, I've started temping as well this cycle (bizarrely DH who just wanted to keep it fun approves of this as he thinks it more scientific and therefore good). Have also acquired some evening primrose oil tabs - can anyone tell me what dosage is recommended? It is just pre-OV isn't it?

hairytriangle · 10/09/2010 14:52

LOL I'll let MrHT know you are thinking of his swimmers IzzyGrin

I have been taking Evening Primrose -1000mg dose and have been taking them pre-ov.

It's definately helped with monster bitch from hell syndrome ovulation rage (which is like PMT but earlier).

MamaPower · 10/09/2010 15:12

Nicks you taken the day off babe?

Izzy Bollox, that's me, you and Choccy all back down the bottom! Race ya!! Only kidding!!

Hairy sounds like an excuse for an extra half an hour in bed Grin hope it worked.

Apple happy holidays Smile

Wombat Grapefruit juice?? Also, It wasn't me who said about the pillow under the bum thing but i do it Blush Some fertility experts say it helps cause gravity gives the swimmers a helping hand, others say it's crap! Either way, it takes the quickest marathon swimmer approx 45mins to reach the egg apparently!

Pretty my little honey, you are welcome to the Holiday villa anytime! I hope it's a little peaceful place for us who are still waiting to be mums.

Waves to everyone else and then buggers off early as it's Friday...see you over the weekend some time xx

loola2shu · 10/09/2010 15:36

Hello everyone and thanks for all your welcomes!

Dach good luck for the IUI, my ds was an IUI baby, 1st go too! fx it's same for you!!

Nickster Chuckled at the cat comparison, I would obviously say I am nothing like that but DH may disagree!!

Hairy Good luck for 2ww!

Pink Hope things are better at work for you, at least he is being considerate I suppose! (unusual for a man!)

Caribou Congratulations!!! Wonderful to see a BFP so soon after I got here!

mamap Good luck at docs with the progesterone, I am thinking of doing the same if I ever rtd/ovulate!

wombat I know the feeling about waiting for rtd, very frustrating!!

apple & MA Happy Holidays!

choc & Izzy Hope this is the cycle for you both!

I've had a crappy few days, went back to work a few days ago and had a total meltdown, I think I cried solidly for 24 hours. I am not at all like this usually so can't understand whats happening, actually really Blush about it. I don't know what to do now- had yesterday and today off sick again, as I am obviously no use to anyone in this state, but don't know where to go from here. I wish things would get back to normal!

Anyway sorry if I've missed anyone, this thread certainly speeds off! Hope everyone is well!

DachshundsRule · 10/09/2010 16:27

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone, and good to know that it can work loola :)

Not 100% sure whether it will be this weekend, it might be tomorrow but it might be Monday. I have a scan booked for tomorrow morning which I have instructions to drag DH to in case we need him (he's not happy - it means he doesn't get a lie in...) so I guess I'll know more then!

Will keep you posted

I am quietly lurking until I have more news and am really trying not to get too hopeful as I know the odds aren't great.

Good news on the dog front though - Ellie went to the vet today and she doesn't need to wear the collar any more, so situation back to normal.

It's going to be a stressful month in the dachs family though - we are having building work starting next week and because we didn't know whether we'd be able to take the dog's collar off we haven't been able to book them into kennels, so I'll be gonig hoeme very night to a place that not only looks like a bomb site but that is also full of two rather wound up little dachshunds snuffling at my ankles.

I hope you guys all have a less stressful time!

loola I'm sorry to hear you had a meltdown. I had a couple of those when I first went back - it does get easier though, I promise.

cmoo really pleased for you :)

hairytriangle · 10/09/2010 16:38

Good Luck Dachs

and

loola so sorry to hear - it does get better.

Wombat33 · 10/09/2010 18:22

Mamapower - I have absolutely no evidence for the grapefruit juice thing. It's something I picked up from another thread on here where it was suggested it's good for making EWCM. I was having a particullarly, ahem, 'dry' month Blush so I thought I'd give it a try. I did conceive, but it was my first month of trying, and obviously, I've just lost it, so I can't really give a view on its effectiveness either way. I think also citrus juice (esp grapefruit???) can interact with some medications too so I imagine it's not for everyone.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/09/2010 18:34

wombat - I've heard that too, about the grapefruit juice, supposed to help with CM if you drink it pre-OV. And I was drinking gallons when I got pregnant with DD (but then I was also drinking loads of green tea post-OV to help implantation and can't for the life of me find anything on the Internet now to back that up!). I have been drinking the grapefruit juice again this time, but haven't noticed any difference, hence the EPO tablets.

loola - sorry you had such a bad day, happens to the best of us I'm afraid Sad. Do you think you just need more time off? I think I took 3 weeks, and then a week of pre-booked holiday and would have been no use to anyone before then.

Jamface · 10/09/2010 19:04

Hello everyone,
Sorry to hear about your bad day loola. It's still very early days so you're bound to be feeling emotionally vulnerable. Just try to be as nice to yourself as possible and maybe console yourself that we have all had and probably still have days just like that.
PV I'm sorry to hear about your special circumstances. FX for 7th time lucky indeed!
Caribou - Big congratulations! How cheering that one of us has moved on to the next stage. Wishing you a very uneventful 8 months of pregnancy!
I'm doing OK. This 6 week cycle is doing my head in a bit!? TBH this month, by the time I got to 4 weeks I expected to see AF any day, so stopped putting quite so much effort in, iyswim! Will be going into next month armed with ov sticks, CM and cervix checking to make sure I don't miss any opportunities. Oh yes, and grapefruit juice. Just googled and loads of info came up.
Happy weekend to all x

CaribouMoo · 10/09/2010 19:16

I've heard of the grapefruit juice too, I think Viv was a fan. We never did get around to that list of items to ensure getting upduffed. A list of ridiculousness!

Dachs my best mate had IUI on Thursday and is currently on the TWW. Come on folicles!!

Izzy I think I'll wait a week or so before going to the grads. Its not really sunk in yet, especially so soon after the ERPC. After taking much, much longer to get pregnant on previous occasions there's a part of me hoping its not too good to be true. Thanks again to everyone for your best wishes.

Sorry about RTD Choccy but enjoy your cocktails, and have one for me! Wombat I tried that ridiculous position before too!! Not the most appealing sight either for DH I would wager!

Loola not sure if you were here this time last week when I had a meltdown at work and couldn't stop crying for the life of me. And on the street. And on the train. Sometimes it just knocks the stuffing out of you, its hard I know. All i can say is that in my experience you'll start to have days that are a little better, where you'll feel that you can cope with it and will be strong enough. You'll always have the odd day of being back at square one but those days will get further and further apart. Hang on in there pal

Jamface, at the risk of sounding like I am sponsored by the stuff, I am a big fan of Agnus Castus. It really worked for me. My cycles were anything between 35 to 70 days since coming off the pill over 4 years ago. I started taking AC after my first MMC in December and have ended up with constant 32-34 days cycles.

DachshundsRule · 10/09/2010 19:29

cmoo thanks for the follicle encouragement! Hope it was lucky for your mate. And hope it all sinks in for you soon and continues positively. I'm going to be dreadful on the 2WW. I think you guys need to get a special supply of haddock in!

jamface hope it all settles down for you soon.

izzy i think i need one of those glasses of wine. can i nab one? thanks....

apple enjoy your holiday! Envy

everyone else going on holiday Envy

I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow

Good luck all. Sticky bean thoughts to all of you.

Jamface · 10/09/2010 20:33

Thanks for the tip caribou, have just googled AC and it looks like it might really help x

youremindmeofthebabe · 10/09/2010 20:53

Good luck daschs for tomorrow.

Sorry for no namechecking tonight, I have an appointment with a curry and Donald Draper, yum. Will post flagrantly whilst at work tomorrowWink

reallygrumpy · 10/09/2010 21:40

Hello all,

I've had a manic few days at work combined with some fairly uncomfortable side effects from the clomid so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself but it's been lovely catching up with this thread. I've forgotten lots of what I wanted to say....

caribou YAY! Brilliant news, I hope you have a dull, uneventful textbook pregnancy. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the next few weeks go well.

dachs hope the IUI goes well.

jam I've used AC in the past and it helped to get my cycle a bit more regular.

PV totally understand your need for another thread, I didn't know you'd had so many mc. Just 1 floored me for months, I really admire your strength. FX next time there's a happy ending

mamaP I also understand the need for a thread for those ttc#1, I have a dd and I think I'd have reacted differently if I'd had a mc before having her. Take care

loola so sorry to hear about your sad day. Do make sure you give yourself time. I was completely stupid, I went to the gym 3 days after my erpc (and nearly passed out) and went back to work 5 days after the erpc. I so desparately wanted everyting back to normal that I didn't give myself enough time and space to grieve and it definitely affected my and DH's relationship.

hope you all have lovely relaxing weekends

nickstermum · 10/09/2010 22:30

Helloooooooooooo!

Sorry Mamap IM HERE! friday is my day off and its been a bit hectic with sister here, trying to work my new phone and catching up on cooking- lasagne tonight! Only took me two hours! CHORES CHORES CHORES! got the kitch floor to clean yet - glam life i have for a friday night! Hoping my sis is taking me to be a twi-slut over the wkend to see Eclipse. I am mad about Edward Cullen Team Edward anyday of the week.

Hello all, feeling positive today, although have had some serious cramping and still everything is not totally clear down there and its been 4 weeks since the bleed started :( getting checked for infec, but its just coming out slowly! :( :(.....GRRR Frustrating or what!

Loola glad u werent upset about the cat comparison! (my loola is the bunny murderer of the local village, she is teeny tiny and comes running up the drive with humungous bunny flappets in her mouth! - thought i would share that!!!) So sorry to hear you have had a crappy few days. I said the same to wombat on another thread, give yourself time to grieve, your body has been through a trauma, emotionally and mentally you will have been affected! Sign yourself off for a few days to recuperate - if you are able to. Work surely will wait, you are more important! Your body and your mind need to recuperate :)

Dachs sending you lots of follicly thoughts and heres hoping they are fruitful for you :)

grumps sorry you are getting lots of sideeffects, and that you too feel a bit rubbish... hope you feel better tomorrow.

Whats with the grapefruit juice? Do tell intrigued

Pillow under the bum worked both times for me! As did the position Blush

Hairy i wil be muttering the sad sperm swim rhyme under my breath, thinking only of you! (lets face it i cant bloody sing it to myself yet...GRRRRRR!)

LadyBee · 11/09/2010 09:40

Hello m'dears I'm back!

phew, what a trip.

More importantly - MOoooooooof good lord, woman, I turn my back for second and you go and get up the duff GrinGrinGrin
What splendid news!
Ooooh I soooo hope this is the one for you and your DH. And how lovely it would be to celebrate your 10th anniversary with a newborn .
DH and I realised this morning that our 1st wedding anniversary is next month. Which made me feel just slightly sad because we'd started TTC #2 the month after. Hey ho.

I didn't find any sticks, so had to give testing a rest yesterday (day 16), got a test in this morning and still on a high. I actually think I did ovulate though, I woke up a couple of days ago feeling much warmer than normal - was not ill, so think possibly the temp spike. Anyway...DH and I were, ahem, pleased to see each other again, so maybe two ill-timed shags either side of OV will add up to a well-timed one?? Grin.
Who knows what's going on...will be interested to see whether CBFM will show me highs all the way to day 26 though, not sure DH will cope with that!!

I noticed a few extra threads have been started up too - nice to have extra places to go for the specific situations. I do particularly understand the desire for a trying for no.1, even though that's not my current sitatuation, it's what happened to me when trying for our first, I miscarried the first pg, before DS. I well remember the additional fear of wondering whether it would happen at all etc.

Anyway, am feeling totally exhausted - think I need a long soak to restore me. Back later.

youremindmeofthebabe · 11/09/2010 10:12

Nickster I love Twilight too. Although I now have a massive crush on Jasper after seeing Eclipse. Hope you enjoy it. I was team Edward, but swing towards Jacob too. I guess i'm not fussy, and to be honest I wouldn't kick either out of bed . Hopefully it will take your mind off the bleeding.

appleblossoms how could your fellow passengers not enjoy that- chuggington- chugga - chugga - chugga - chugga - chuggington and repeat.Grin

Hello jamface and loola- sorry I've been a bit crap with welcoming, hope you're both as well as can be expected.

reallygrumpy those side effects don't sound son good, hope that you feel a bit better today.

mamap How are you? any plans for the weekend? Don't know if you saw my thank you post, so I'll say it again- Thank you!Smile

hairy fx for those swimmers for you, Go swimmers!

izzy and so the pre-ov cycle begins again..At least you can have some wine?! Hope you're well.

Hope you're well PFF

Wombat am loving your dedication to the cause. I am cosmically ordering a baby for you.

I am at work today, and then X-factoring and nice tea with my mate tonight. vey good. Hope all have a good weekend. Sorry if I've missed anyone.

youremindmeofthebabe · 11/09/2010 10:14

X-posted ladybee- Did you have a good time? Am sure 2 ill-timed shags may well do the trick. Fx anyway!

hairytriangle · 11/09/2010 10:44

Lovely to have you back Ladybee

And thanks everyone for the wriggler motivation Grin

hairytriangle · 11/09/2010 10:49

I've started a list of ridiculousness :)

The List of Ridiculousness

Wombat33 · 11/09/2010 11:25

Hairy I've posted on the ridiculousness thread. Grin. Hope the swimmers are going strong Wink

Hi Ladybee, good to meet you. Good hols??

youremindmeofthebabe thank you for the cosmic baby ordering - I'm sure that will seal the deal this month! Grin

Dachs hope it's all going well today (if it's happening today)
