Hi fairygodmother can't help with metformin side effects, clomid does the opposite have a huge appetite and am eating far more than I should be! Any other side effects?
I have an appointment with my consultanton Monday they brought it forward a month as I have run out of clomid! This time i have written down all my ?'s in advance as I have lots of them.
Is the metformin to replace the clomid?

Supersunnyday - how was the appointment?

Hope everyone else is ok x

hey ladies, just popping on to say hi. fairy i dont remember met puting me off certain foods just put me off all food lol

popsy thats good bout ds, is that your 20wk scan already?

lady i was nauseous all the time but not sick with rileigh but was sick with ds. Is your scan next week? Will you find out what your having?

The clomid made me feel hungry a lot too also i was a moody cow which the cons said was the rollercoaster of ttc, his ass he never took those tablets. I was given metformin to be used along side clomid when after using clomid alone for 6 months i only ov'd once. I didnt get the chance to take the metformin and clomid as i fell pregnant with rileigh in the 2nd month of taking metformin. Just thought i should fill you all in a bit about my ttc dd.

Sorry i havent caught up properly on the thread, but i will over the weekend. Hi to everyone, hope your all well x

reallygrumpy · 17/09/2010 17:14

Hey all,

fairy the metformin gave me a really dodgy tummy, especially when I ate anything sweet which I think is why I lost weight both times I was on it.

stac that's really interesting that you got pg just on metformin. I got pg with DD on metformin, got pg earlier this year on clomid then miscarried and now I'm back on clomid but I've had a scan today (cd13) which didn't show any follicles. I've got another scan on Monday and then an appt with the cons on thurs so I'm going to ask him about taking metformin again.

Ladybird10 · 17/09/2010 19:41

Sounds like its a load of tosh about lots of nausea meaning a girl. Ah well i'm not fussed anyway, i just know dp would be over the moon if it's a girl, he wil still be really happy with a boy though:)

Pops your scan is the day after mine :)

Stac we will be finding out what we're having at the 20wk scan.

I've been having a really stressfull time at work recently, can that effect the baby? I'm trying to stay relaxed at work but sometimes it's hard.

Hope everyone is well

Thatnks for the advice - thought it was sweet stuff too reallygrumpy but now thinking it's dairy!!! Which is totally weird as we have dairy intolerance in my family. Proper weigh in tomorrow but think I've done nearly 5lb this week which is amazing!!!

Hey, sorry for not posting for a while today is cd26 and have really sore breasts , AF usually between 28-30 days really hoping it doesnt show up, hoping for a miracle otherwise back to round 3 of clomid, any idea when should i test cant see another BFN....................

jobobpip08 · 20/09/2010 14:01

Hi pops so glad about DS Smile

lady so long as you are getting some time to relax at home I wouldn't worry about being stressed at work unless its causing you sleepless nights, high blood pressure etc.

super I would take the clomid now, in a weeks time when you are coming up to ovulation you should feel a bit perkier, but I wouldn't hold off if it was me. I'm not on clomid anymore - it did its job (albeit I was having a months break when I got pregnant) and I'm 29 weeks.

nonu I found clomid made my cycle longer, do you know when you ovulated as you should add 14 days to that to calculate your approx cycle length. Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone else is well!

Hi Stace, had a few days of nausea but none today. The dose goes up again for the final time tomorrow.

Well shattered at the mo but thats prob from being back at work & I don't cope well when the season changes!

How is everyone?

x

confu3ed · 20/09/2010 22:44

Supersunnyday great about the clomid and start it straight away as it can take a couple of months to kick in apparently plus you are better now! The only side effect I get is night sweats.

I saw consultant today and had a scan there was one mature follicle and another almost ready too! Womb lining all good too so fingers crossed for this month! If it doesn't work on 100mg of clomid next month. Feel loads better about everything as I know I am ovulating now! He did say you should both give up alchohol as it has a huge effect, anyone else heard that?

Hope everyone else is ok

Xx

confu3ed never heard that about alcohol but don't really drink anyway. Did he mean big effect in terms side effects, or just ttc genereally?

super forgot to say you can take clomid at night if you are concerned about side effects. Hope you're better soon.

Confused I've never heard that either.

Super I agree with Jo, take it at night!

highheelsandequations · 21/09/2010 21:46

Quick post. Sorry I've not been around lately. How is everyone? I've still been feeling fairly down in the dumps, still no signs of ovulation and no progress with the clinic. My mum and dad are coming to visit us in a month or so and I'd really hoped to have some good news to share with them, very disappointed that we won't. Sorry for the whinge, can't seem to get myself thinking positively just now. Back when I'm feeling less miserable for a proper catch up with everyone.

Not sure if my consultant was just passing on the government health message or not as he reckons that 3 pints can mess up a mans sperm for 100-120 days! Not sure how true that is as most guys drink 3 pints every so often don't they?! He said that you i totally give up drinking till pregnant :( hope this isn't the truth not like I drink much anyway but a glass or two of wine a week keeps me going!!!

Supersunnyday another few weeks will give you time to get better and probably give you a better chance, also there are some anti-biotics that Docs don't want you to take when ttc.

Chin up highheels tomorrow is another day.

nonu · 22/09/2010 09:00

hey, need advice immediately, sorry if i will be too openBlush, had a little spotting on cd-27 after bding with DH and then nothing in the morning, after some time again little small spot and again nothing, what does this mean, should i test or wait , just cant bring the nerves to see a BFN again, HELP GUYS.....

jobobpip08 · 22/09/2010 11:27

oh nonu such a tricky one! It could well be the bd-ing, I used to just wait and see but I know its not easy to do.

high ditto super are they going to increase your dosage as what you're on isn't doing its job yet. I do know what you mean about 'occasions' and 'deadlines', I have been through so many, birthdays, christmas, mothers day fathers day all hoping 'wouldn't it be lovely if....' I did have to try really hard not to do it in the end, it just gets you down even more if it hasn't happened by then. Hugs.

Hi all, apologies for not posting very often.
nonu i have no expeience of spotting. But like you i always hated seeing BFN, felt like a double blow. My cycles are about 33days so i left it til a week after, usually on weekend so i could cry!!Good luck with whatever your decision, sorry for not helping more.

lady work pretty full on for me aswell, i ended up crying most of lunchtime:( Hope things are easier for you now, how are you feeling?

Sending a hug to highheels TTC is such a crappy time. I got sick of the amount of times i avoided questions or pasted that fake smile on my face.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well.

nonu · 23/09/2010 09:53
