Hi everyone,

Have been on the ttc thread for about 7 months now - a few people have suggested using Persona, however, it is quite expensive.

Thought i would start this thread to see if anyone has finished with their and wouls want it to go to a new home - I promise it will be put to good use.

Jem

You can laways do 'contact another talker' at the top of the page and tech will do the rest. Glad it was so easy for you Jems!! You'll need to reset it and buy 2 packs of sticks for the first month. All the instructions should be with it, but I rang persona last month to ask for a new instruction book as they have been updated in the last year, they were very helpful and sent it out striaght away. You might be a bit overwhelmed at first with all this testing and when to do it etcc.. Don't worry though, there are lots of persona experts on here! you'll learn very quickly, what it all meams and days etc.. The first month you might not get an ov symbol, but you just need to look at the test stick to see if you have the LH hormone. Sorry, I'm probably confusing you. Get your machine, have a fiddle and see how you feel!!!!Good luck Jemmsy!!!
Hope you get one too Munchk2!!!

Jemma7 · 28/07/2003 16:33

God, do u know everything about everything Quackers? You are soooo useful.
Boe hasn't got the intructions so i will ring up and ask for them to send me some.
Got a feeling i am going to get very comfused though - AAAARRGGGGGG!

Oh Jems, sorry, I'm such a geek. The thing is I work Mon, Wed anf Fri and at the moment it's very quiet. I am always on the web, getting knowledge and stuff about things that might some in useful. I must sound a right know all! I just love to help if I can at all

Jemma7 · 28/07/2003 16:47

Don't be sorry - it's great to have somone who knows what thye are talking about - incase u haven't notice yet i'm useless when it comes top most things on this site.

Thanks chuck!!Your instruction book is great and will tell u everything. You will need to reset it, the test sticks pack has info how to do this. You'll need 2 packs for the first month (8 sticks) and 1 pack therefater. They are £9.99 each (ow!) but it's worth it! You'll press the m button on the first morning of your period (day after if it starts later in the day) , then you'll do a urine test on day 6 and after that Persona will decide when you'll test. Sounds a little confusing and you'll need to read the book really, but I and LucieB (fellow persona pal) will be able to help wherever poss!!! Got to go home now and make DDs tea!

hewlettsdaughter · 28/07/2003 19:03

Hi Jemma7, just started using Persona myself. Seems to be fairly easy to use, as long as you remember to look at it as soon as you get up in the morning! Quackers - what did you mean when you said "you just need to look at the test stick to see if you have the LH hormone"? I haven't been looking at the test sticks, just sticking them into the machine like the instruction booklet says.

quackers · 28/07/2003 20:41

Hi HD, oh ignore me, you;re ok, you;re getting the o symbol. Some poeple don't the first month or so. The lines on the stick show oestrogen and LH hormone. When I rang up she told me the 2 lines on the sticks also showed ov. Just a nother way to show ov

hewlettsdaughter · 28/07/2003 21:14

Quackers, I haven't had the 'o' symbol yet, although I'm only on day 11 of my first cycle since starting Persona. I was just wondering what you meant, as I hadn't realised looking at the stick might tell you something. Thanks!

MoseGirl · 29/07/2003 08:51

Hi,
I am new and so glad I found this site! I love the sound of 'Persona' as I too am trying for my first baby!

Is there any one else out there who wants to sell theres?

quackers · 29/07/2003 09:45

Oh glad I could help. I got so obsessed myself about it all I think I know too much! Yes the line furthest away from the end you hold is Oestrogen. The line nearest the end you hold is LH. It will strt off quite faint and after 2 or 3 days be fairly strong blue line and persona will pick this up and give the o symbol, but I heard sometimes it won't do this in the first 3 months, so looking at the lines is a good way!! Good luck HD and Jem!!!

LucieB · 29/07/2003 10:05

The 'o' sign comes up on the screen when the sticks detect that you are ovulating. It doesn't always happen in the first month of using it.

sprout · 29/07/2003 10:44

MoseGirl - yes, me! Currently 25wks pg, intentionally, so I'm a satisfied user. Can't imagine relying on it as contraception, though. I'll contact you directly for sale details etc.

splash · 29/07/2003 14:30

DOES ANYONE KNOW PERSONA PHONE NU

Jemma7 · 29/07/2003 14:42

Haven't got a clue Splash but i could do with it too.
I'm sooo annoyed - cannot start using persona until next period which is a while away as i am on at the mo - therefore no babies for at least another 2 months - AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG

OP posts:
splash · 29/07/2003 14:50

Jemma7 · 29/07/2003 15:18
