No I haven't. I really hope she's ok.

I know what you mean, teas but I think I found out later last time which means I got symptoms "earlier". I am starting to feel a bit sicky though. And having lots of early nights. And sore nipples. And super sense of smell. In fact, don't know what more am expecting really! A big flashing arrow over my uterus saying "PREGNANT"?!

newyearsday · 26/08/2010 17:54

I think I worked out how to share my chart:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2fae6a

Can you see temps up to today? Hope so.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 26/08/2010 19:17

I can see your newyearsday - here's mine too:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2de1f3 :) It was my first month checking my cervix, so ignore that row (didnt have a clue how to determine what I was feeling, so prob completly wrong!)

LittleSilver · 26/08/2010 19:25

ifatirst, it took me a good 6-8 weeks to get used to checking out my cervix, but once I had it down it was flipping invaluable and I partly credit it with helping me catch the egg the month I ov'd a whole seven days earlier than normal. So do keep going, I'm so glad I did!

Empty, we're thinking of you lovie.

dig, I had a couple of cycles where I positively bellowed at my abdomen "How could you MISS that bloody egg!!!"

hippychick66 · 26/08/2010 19:25

Got the results of my blood test:-

Doctor says i have an under active thyroid. this is odd cos one of the symtoms is long cycles and not ovulating which fortunately I don't have. She said my body is working twice as hard to produce whatever it is I need and I should be very tired. I said I was tired but I just blamed my DC's .

She wants to do another blood test cos the medication you take - thyroxin is a lifetime thing and she doesn't want to start me on lifetime medication based on one blood test (in case of error). I asked about TTC and she said being on thyroxin could only help with the TTC cos I will feel better in general.

I wondered if this had caused the miscariages and have googled a bit. It seems to mostly refer to miscariages in the second trimester.

Also, I know from my research that 80% of MC's in the over 40's are due to chromosome problems caused by old eggs. So deep down i think i know that is why i've had 2 MC's this year and not the thyroid thing. However, if I get preg again I will have to keep an eye on my thyroid function throughout the pregnancy.

So, once again I'm pleased to announce that Hippy isn't gonna croak today. Seriously, as i went in the door I looked at her face to try to gauge if she had a 'I'm about to tell you that you have cancer' look on it! Ho Hum!

LittleSilver · 26/08/2010 19:25

I was talking to the (presumably long-dead) swimmers natch.

LittleSilver · 26/08/2010 19:28

hippie I'm sorry to hear about that but are you having any comfort from sort of knowing what is making you tired, iyswim? And being able to sort it out? Even though thyroxine isn't ideal? When I got diagnosed with PCOS I was releived, I thought, I KNEW there was somethign wrong and I kept being bloody fobbed off! I hope that doesn't sounds insensitive and I really hope you feel better soon.

theteasonme · 26/08/2010 20:16

I would LOVE a big sign saying 'pregnant' ! or a window, yes, a window would really help!

hippy hope you're ok about your results, you might find you feel super energetic if they put you on thyroxine! Look out hippie's DH!

xxx

hippychick66 · 26/08/2010 20:45

littlesilver not insensitive at all - i know what you mean. If I have an under active thyroid - good to find out now.

Once I get sorted on the tablets i might realise just how shitty i felt before. And Doc says it will be good for the TTCing cos it will make me feel good all round Grin

And now I have a good reason why i am less than svelte!!!(spelling?)

Ell11 · 26/08/2010 20:47

Gosh! A lot has happened in a couple of days!

Empty so sorry for you Sad

Don't have very good news about myself either. I went to hospital on Tues with very bad pain (I've had an ectopic before and at high risk of it happening again) and I started spotting prune-coloured blood too. They took my blood and kept me in under observation for 2 nights. A scan (at 5 weeks) showed up nothing. Not even a sac. Had the second blood test this morning and my HCG had more than doubled. Got to have another scan on Saturday and if there's still nothing I'll have another blood test.

I am totally in limbo and have no idea what the hell is going on. They said by 5 weeks you should be able so see a sac so why are my hormones behaving as if there's a baby there? And why am I in pain? (though not as bad as Tuesday). At least they ruled out ectopic - HCG was too high for that which is good as that would be game over for me.

Haven't taken my temp since getting the BFP as I didn't want to see it going down...

Hope those who are post ov get some good results soon!

hippychick66 · 26/08/2010 21:00

ell11 sorry to hear you're having a bad time. hope it's just a wee bit too early and next time they look they will see what you're hoping for. At least they've ruled out another ectopic that must have been so scary for you. Big hugs. xx

theteasonme · 26/08/2010 22:03

thinking of you ell11 good luck for saturday xxx

bessie26 · 26/08/2010 22:15

to ell11. Thank goodness it wasn't another eptopic. Hope the scan on saturday goes ok.

digi and salad sorry to hear about the temp drops Sad

hippy - I have a slightly underactive thyroid too - am waiting to have my second set of blood tests done in a couple of weeks. I started a thread a while back to get some advice/opinions on it which you might find interesting - in particular this link to some NHS Guidance on what your levels should be if you're trying to get pg. I read that low libido is a symptom too, so perhaps TTC won't be such a chore in the future! Wink

LittleSilver · 27/08/2010 08:04

ell, how stressful and how bloody annoying not knowing exactly what is going on. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

rosieposey · 27/08/2010 08:09

Morning ladies, havent posted for a week or so.

Firstly just wanted to say that i am so sorry to Empty :( I havent seen your other thread but you must be devastated :(

Ell11, really keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out for you and that a sac will be more evident on Saturday.

Well i didnt get on at all with my CBFM this month (didnt show a single high) but i did ok with charting i think (for a newbie) Next cycle i will put it all into fertility friend as i have been using a paper chart this month. I was really surprised at how obvious it was when i ov'ed (the opk backed up the temps too) it really works!

Im 11dpo today, did a test and BFN :( It was a 20 miu internet cheapy (which have given me a positive from 8dpo before but that was a chemical pg) and so im not really holding out much hope for this month. Have the usual pre AF cramping but my temps are still high so maybe i will hold off till 14dpo and if they are still high i will test?

Ell11 · 27/08/2010 08:16

Thanks all for your thoughts- will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Rosie, I did a test at 12dpo with a 10miu test and it was negative but a clearblue showed up positive at 16dpo. My temps started getting even higher on 13dpo instead of dropping so keep an eye out for that and hang on! Resist the urge...! Good luck.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/08/2010 08:54

Ell - sounds very strange. Thinking of you and hope everything goes ok.

Hippy - my thyroid underactive too. Once you're on the Thyroxine it's business as usual. They just monitor you a bit closer during pregnancy as your dose requirements tend to change and they will check baby more closely in case of any growth issues. But as long as you are medicated you will be fine and you will feel so much better. It was like a lightbulb being switched on for me when I started on it after years of feeling awful and not knowing why.

Saladbomb · 27/08/2010 09:33

hippy although :( about your thyroid, sounds like a good thing you have a diagnosis? I hope thats how you feel about it anyway. Sounds to me like the medication is going to be a bit of a revelation :o

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow ell11 Must be a mare not knowing. I hope very much it goes well and there is more to see.

And for you rosie try and hold out til after RTD is due (wishes I had taken own advise)

Well, RTD came this morning so am a bit gutted but at least I was prepared for it. I am quite amazed at how accurate it all is really. Girding my loins (so to speak) for next month.

empty I am guessing being here is not what you need right now but I hope you are ok.

rosieposey · 27/08/2010 10:46

Think i am going to take all of your advice and wait till DPO14 - its more fun seeing what the temps are doing anyway and tbh i think that is a more accurate way of seeing if you are indeed pg (plus will save me fortunes on HTP's).

saladbomb every month i say i am going to wait till the day RTD is due to test but i never do. Next month will be doing FF so maybe will resist the urge then.

Ell11 thats heartening to hear you tested positive so late (it also may be why they cant see anything yet as implantation may have taken a while and you only tested positive two or three days afterwards) I am going to wait three days and do it again. I seem to remember with DD3 testing on the day RTD was due and you could hardly see the second line so i think she was another late implantationer i think. DS on the other hand i found out 4 days early (he must have sprinted down the fallopian tube Grin) so i suppose it depends on the pg - am really really hoping there is something positive to see tomorrow - the rising hcg levels are a good sign though and they have ruled out another ectopic thank god. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Saladbomb · 27/08/2010 11:12

I made it to DPO13 which isn't too bad I suppose. But I knew I wasn't pg because of the temp drop, so it was silly really. I suppose I just wanted to see it there in pink and white :o Fingers crossed for you on Monday.

newyearsday · 27/08/2010 14:26

Ell11 I'll be thinking about you too on Saturday, fingers crossed for you xx

good luck rosie.

I've 12 days to go till I can POAS, so I'm going to try and wait till then. I did feel a bit nauseous this morning but at 5DPO I think it was just hunger!

If it doesn't happen this cycle I have to take some god-awful drug mid-Sept a month before the day op, which I'm trying very hard not to think about it.

Have a wunnerful bank holiday weekend all xx

digitalgirl · 27/08/2010 17:59

Started rtd this afternoon as temp predicted (one day earlier than last cycle so I got my wish not having to wait too long for it)

Always feel much more accepting of it all once I've actually got my period.

Will take a break from MN for a bit as I seem to be much more impatient waiting for the egg when reading of so many others ovulating around CD14.

Good luck to the rest of you ladies still in the running.

Best of luck tomorrow ell11 hope they find a shy little bean.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 27/08/2010 19:03

Good luck for tomorrow Ell11

I am officially narked with FF now - it's constantley changing it's mind on when I ov'd.
First it was CD14 - which was excellent, then CD15 which was good, and now it's says CD16 which isnt so good (didnt SWI on the supposed OV day) Angry

And I've had some serious symptoms to spot today, but now it's pushed me back to 6DPO I'm not so sure they were symptoms:
Very tired (have been most of the week)
Don't feel like stuffing my face as much as I normally would
Persistant, but mild cramps
Anxious/nervous feeling in my stomach (which I had before I found out I was PG last time)
Dry mouth & throat, eventhough I drink loads of water.
Watery CM (which I also had last time)

Now FF has blown all my excitement out of the water.

On another note, following my lovely smear on Tuesday Hmm, I took myself off to the chemist and bought some canesten cream following the instructions from the nurse as she seen some "ricotta cheese" up there, and found I don't have any of the symptoms described in the leaflet!! Confused
Where the heck am I supposed to stick this cream, as I don't have any itchy areas - sorry Blush
I think I may have bought the wrong stuff, as the nurse just said get yourself some cream! I've never flippin had it before, so I don't know what I'm buying. I even told the chemist that I didnt know anything was wrong until the nurse told me! Grrrr

Danilou22 · 27/08/2010 20:25

The nurse insited I had thrush once when I went for a smear. She swabbed and it came back fine.

Right ladies, I need some help and advise from all you wise people.

As I am sure some of you have read I am having the longest cycle in the world. I have agnus castus in the cupboard ready for me to take, however I am not sure if I have ovulated. I had some EWCM the other day (very exciting)but it only lasted for about a day. My temps have not really gone up, only a little but I have been ill and I am sure I am breathing through my mouth. I have had some aching in my lower tummy and now ( I am so so sorry if this is tmi) I have loads and loads of creamy white CM and my cervix is really high and soft.

So what do you think, have I ovulated? Am I due to ovulate? I am not sure what an abundance of CM means!! Blush

Any ideas greatly apreciated.

Hey digi, don't disappear for too long. I totally understand how you're feeling and am always around if you feel like coming back Smile Take care of yourself xxx
