Digi, Thanks, I would love any kind of period right now, light brown or otherwise! I have found three qualified acupuncturists, none of them specialise in fertility though, do you think that matters?

Ell11 · 28/09/2010 14:01

mummy sorry I can't help - I always thought a thermal shift meant definite ovulation as the corpus luteum (where the egg was released from) triggers progesterone which causes the temp rise. Would be interested to see what you find out about this! Hope AF turns up soon so you can get back on it!

Up-date on me... DH and I had a weekend away and took the plunge. First time since ep. It was pretty good but then I booed for about 10 minutes afterwards. Poor DH didn't know what to say. I was really pleased to have enjoyed it but just couldn't help picturing the little swimmers not able to get anywhere and it made me really sad again. Although it didn't seem so to my DH, it was actually ok - as long as he can put up with sobbing afterwards for a while, I reckon it'll eventually get easier.

MummyAbroad · 29/09/2010 01:57

Hi Ell11,

Its all very confusing, but I am starting to think that I did ovulate but havent got my period because something is wrong. (Wouldnt be the first time, I have had an awful lot of complications since mcing in March)

I think it may be back to the doctor for me...

I can completely relate to your feelings about "plunging" with DH. I avoided doing it at all for a really long time and when I finally did there was such a mix bag of emotions (very few pleasurable!) I think it is hard because it so graphically forces you to focus on your body, its failings, your (broken) dreams about conceiving, fears about your health and fertility, everything! Its easy to distract yourself while you are doing the washing up, but when you are having sex its hard not to think about, well sex, and all that that has come to symbolise.

I can say that 6 months on from my mc, things have changed a lot and we have rediscovered sex for fun, but its taken a while, and I have cried on many occasions - most pathetically on our wedding anniversary!

I think grief over loss (and fear over your health) is a huge thing to deal with. Dont underestimate it, give yourself time and above all allow yourself to feel sad/angry/scared or whatever it is, rather than trying to "cope" by suppressing it all. Its normal that those sad feelings will pop up all over the place, even in the bedroom, just let it all come out if it wants to and you will see that you are right, its does eventually get easier.Smile

Ell11 · 29/09/2010 09:53

Thank you so much mummyabroad, it is good to hear my reaction was completely normal. And that I'm not the only one to feel that way. And to know it will get easier. Hope you have success in finding out what's wrong xx

cincotart · 29/09/2010 14:29

Thanks for your replies ...think I may have a go at it again. I did try ages ago but found I was a bit obsessive. Have openly admitted I'm obsessed now so can't hurt can it Grin I'm waiting to see if 3rd IUI has been successful and if not there will be a wait until the new year for my IVF cycle. I'll be throwing everything I can to falling pg ourselves in the meantime Grin

Sorry to hear about the awful time some of you have had :( All I can add is take care of yourselves, it's perfectly natural you've been feeling the way you have, you've been through a lot.

Will try and remember to start temps tomorrow and may well be back for more advice!

LadyGoneGaga · 29/09/2010 15:03

Cinco Good to see you here. We're all obsessive! Are you on FF? Have you seen Knitter's 3x day plan? Or a little less extreme there is this as well:

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 29/09/2010 18:24

Hi Ladies - I am going very mad sat here!!!

I'm on CD29 (13DPO) and cycles are normally 28/29 but no sign of AF!
I thought I wasnt going to obsess this month as we didnt SWI as much as we should have. I havent had any pg symptoms (apart from the usual slightly sore boobs & twingey tummy). So, I pretty much wrote this month off - now I aint so sure Confused

Temps took a bit of a dive below the cover line this morning but not right down to pre-ov levels so expected AF today - Nada! I'm hoping the dip is because I took my temp an hour earlier this morning. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2de1f3

I havent been able to concentrate at work at all today, and really trying to tune in to any symptoms which arent actually there!!!

I have had some pains over the weekend/early this week which I though was AF, but she never arrived. On Monday, they were more like grabbing sensations rather than pain!
But NO OTHER SYMPTOMS

CM has turned watery, which it sometimes does before AF, but was also quite abundant when I got pg in Feb. So,(TMI alert) I feel constantly (ahem) wet Blush and expect AF everytime I go to the loo - but NOTHING!

I have 2 pg tests upstairs screaming at me, but I know as soon as I get a negative AF will show, so I'm telling myself,if I don't test, I wont get a negative and AF won't show!

Tell me - you can still be pg without any symptoms. No, actually tell me, stop being stupid, AF is about to knock on the door.

Arrggggh! Confused

digitalgirl · 29/09/2010 19:38

ifatfirst I would wait to see what your temp does tomorrow morning - taken at the usual time. If it goes up I'd be very tempted to test (only with first wee of the day).

I'm also trying not to get my hopes up too soon. It's still really early for me to be interpreting my chart but had some cramping last night and strange twinges today which had me thinking 'oh god I'll never cope with two'. Could all be nothing. Am sure I had this a couple of cycles ago, did a bunch of early tests and eventually got af. Temps peaked at 11dpo and started sliding downwards from 12dpo last time - so got a couple of days before I get a little bit more hopeful.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 29/09/2010 19:49

hmm, not sure why my link goes to the space exploration engineering site!!!! Hmm

try again www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2de1f3

Thanks digi for your very sensible words. I will see what happens with my temp in the morning (if AF hasnt arived by then)

LadyGoneGaga · 29/09/2010 20:20

Digi your chart looks good so far. Hope it stays up for you.

Ifatfirst I agree with Digi - wait til morning. And try and not lie awake worrying until you can test (voice of experience!)- have you had no ss at all?

rocketleaf · 29/09/2010 20:42

ifat i had no symptoms at all until about 16DPO (BFP on DPO 14) first signs were little stabby pains in my lower abdomen either side and feeling really bloated and 'stretched'

Because of lack of symptoms I was completely in denial (LadyGG knew tho :o) but my temps stayed up even tho they dipped a couple of times during my luteal phase although did stay well above the base line. If your temp is back up tomorrow I would POAS! Fingers crossed for you.

Nice to see you here cinco I really think its worth giving temping another go, don't worry about the early am wake ups, just temp then and again when you wake up 'properly' choose which you are going to record and stick to that but keep a note of the other one. I did this for a while til i figured out which was most accurate.

mummie I so hope AF arrives for you soon.

Ellie So glad you felt able to get 'back on the horse' and that it was ok for you. Poor MrE must have been a bit perplexed, I guess a bout of crying isn't the usual reaction :o I hope it gets easier for you soon.

Whenisitmyturn · 29/09/2010 21:12

If wise words from the others as always! I think wait until tomorrow and see what the temps do.

digi I am putting money on you my dear! Your chart looks very like the one I had when I got PG when DC1. The giveaway for me was the close range of temps rather than the usual fluctuations post OV. I think you're a dead cert!!!

MummyAbroad · 29/09/2010 21:48

wow some exciting charts on here at the moment, fingers crossed for you girls xxx

Ifatfirst with both my pregnancies I only started feeling symptoms when I got a positive result Smile

Still no AF for me, am going to start progesterone today. Will be interesting to see what that does to my chart. Smile

digitalgirl · 30/09/2010 07:43

Good luck with the progesterone mummyabroad

Chart just got a little bit more exciting.

rocketleaf · 30/09/2010 07:57

oh yes, digi might be joining when and placing a small wager on you myself. Fingers crossed they stay high!

will be waiting with baited breath to see if ifs are still up today too...

MummyAbroad · 30/09/2010 14:41

Digi !!!! Grin

bessie26 · 30/09/2010 19:18

rocket I don't think you'll get very good odds, digi's chart is looking great! Grin

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 30/09/2010 19:37

oooh digi, your chart looks very exciting (and very tidy compared to my "rocky road").

Well, I took all of your advice, took temp this morning (eventhough I was due a bit of a lie in, set the alarm for my usual temp-taking time so it was as acurate as possible), and it went back UP :)
So, dug out the freebie cheapie internet test and.........BFN :(

Was definatley expecting AF today, still no show Confused

So now on CD30 which is a lifetime record for me :) and even more confussled than I ever have been.

I am clinging on to the hope that the test I used was really crap 'cos it was free with the pre-seed I bought.
I do still have one CB digital, but I know lots of peeps say they arent as reliable. Also, I want to save that for when I definatley am pg, so I've got something better than a pathetic, tiny wee stick to show DH. Grin

digitalgirl · 30/09/2010 22:50

ifatfirst it's possible you didn't ovulate till 2 days later than ff thinks. I think it's unlikely you ovulated on the day you got a positive opk, be more like the day after.
So going on that basis you're still only 12/13dpo. Might not have implanted till 10dpo - hence it not showing up yet. Basically, even though bfn's suck...it ain't over.

Got pre-af type cramps now. So odds are lengthening.

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 09:44

Hello ladies. Sorry I haven't been on this thread much. Basically, I haven't been charting this month cos we went away around ov time. As you know I managed loads of shagging in the caravan and was quite hopeful that I'd get a little Isle of Wight baby. But I have to say I'm now about 10/11 days post ov and not feeling very preggers, i did a test this morning and it was a very definite BFN. I know it ain't over till the bitch turns up but i am not too hopeful.

If I decide to start charting again next month, I'll be back.

Good luck to all of you who are waiting to find out your fate. I'll pop back to see how you're doing digi Grin

BrownB · 01/10/2010 10:58

Hello there - was wondering if you lovely ladies can help with a quick question? I've been charting my BBT for the first time this month and don't really know what it all means.

FF states I ovulated on CD 10, had a typical 0.3 degree temp jump which then jumped up another 0.3 degrees on 9 DPO. This lasted for three days, to drop 0.3 degrees on 12DPO and another 0.2 degrees on 13DPO, and has gone up again today 0.4 degrees today (14DPO). Am feeling like my period is coming today.

I read on another thread that your temp can lower when implantation takes place. The thread also stated that this was the place to come for reliable, accurate and informed answers... (no pressure!!) Wink I would love another excuse to hope for this month... [Totally ridiculous I know]

BrownB · 01/10/2010 11:08

I wish I knew how to post my FF chart... grrr...

MummyAbroad · 01/10/2010 14:09

HI BrownB,

Took me ages to work out how to post my chart too!

You do this:

got to SHARING on the left hand side bar
then HOME PAGE SETUP then scroll down and do ADD CHART, then scroll back up and copy the URL in the text box at the top. It should look something like this

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/30b552

With regards to your other questions, I have only been charting for a short while too, but according to TCOYF not everyone gets an implantation dip, AND its possible to get the dip and not be pregnant, so you cant really rely on it. (Nice to get excited about if you see it though!)

xxxxxxxxxx

digitalgirl · 01/10/2010 16:26

brownb any idea how long your luteal phase is? A pregnancy test should be pretty reliable at 14dpo. Ff and Toni both recommend waiting till 17/18dpo to test if you don't know luteal phase length. Good luck it sounds very promising!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 01/10/2010 17:52

Well, couldnt resist, so used the CB digital that I've had stashed away for months last night - BFN.
Temp this morning dropped again, and sure enough AF arrive.

Ho-hum :( Never mind, at least I can have a glass of vino tonight!

Roll on next week we start all over again!
