Aw i feel bad for bleating on about Summers sleeping Barbie ... Blush I do realise im very lucky, think its cos shes so big, i agree that as Dolly is so advanced and active that she is prob just extra hungry but agree Hmm at nighttime solids?! You are so not a failure, your a fantastic mummy, the love oozes off the page, and you will get through this hon, echo mermaid she sleeps, you sleep! .....Thank u Vjay for sayin how far we've come with the bf Grin i did feel like a bit of a failure when she didnt want them, so thrilled she discovered them again, i am still giving 5oz of ff pretty much every 4 to 5 hrs, with bf in between when required(!), so do think bf just isnt enough for her, i bf at night & 5am when dh gets up, and her 1st morning ff about 9 or 10am, she guzzles madly! Im so thinkin of xmas already too & i regressed when u said about argos catalogue! Grin Such a fan of both pizza hut & nandos, both are en route from our giant sainsburys so on shopping day we generally stop off at either! Nandos was S 1st meal out! Mermaid cant believe you dont know of it! Shock Like Barbie living in london we had it about 10yrs ago before became a chain, but still yum! Do make sure you come back and share the horrible crap u went through on the ads Sad as i said maybe a holistic approach is more suited to you instead? ...Monkey just wanna say big hi & so pleased to hear u feelin brighter.. Grin Bless ur ds countin down to xmas & getting excited about the air con! Grin Mls didnt realise you had been so ill, please rest up & hope the steroids work... Waves to Blue lurking at work! High 5 to mama cupcake and Jude! Lbm too! Neeko and Igs love the pics of your gorgeous girls! Grin Sabs hope your having a good ramadam, what age do children have to fast? Sorry to those iv missed, phone post, can you tell?! Grin Horrid lack of punctuation, silly phone (sorry miss neeko!) Blush ...biscuit is dozing on me, off to m&s later to get suit for dh & poss dress for me for christening!

mermaidspurse · 12/08/2010 12:38

someone who goes oi ere rrr me turnips missis whilst chewing on a stalk of barleyGrin

oh thanks for clearing that up for me re posh chicken cos we have just got KFC, well it rocked the town queues are still being talked off - thumps head on desk.

dh threw the tablets down the sink I developed the most awful migrane with tunnel vision, flashes and halos (not nicel saintly shiny ones either) and he got all manly made me a cup of tea, wiped away tears listened to my incoherent blubbing and put me to bed and said he felt awful cos he felt that he doesn't look after me enough.
Poor dh, so yesterday roll on the drums he decided to get an apprentice to ease some of the workload (poor apprenticeGrin)

So I am back on rose, sessions at the gym and now thinking about gig rowing cos just got asked - gorilla arms spotted, but those gig women are a bit boddecia like so dwelling on that one!

louey mizzle is cornish for rain that isn't rain or mist or sleet but something inbetween that is far wetter than any of those 3 things. and the other word which I have forgotten was neekos mispelling which was quite cool. roog was it? fingers crossed for you this week btw.

monkey it is lovely to hear you begining to feel the sunshine again I am so proud of you even though you have only just skimmed your to do list. Nice dress too. I dare not look.

cupcake which one was he? I was thinking it was either the distinguished chap with the gottee how do you spell that? beard thats better. Or the one with the badges?

sabs a big shiney star of congratulations for your job I am so relieved and pleased for you. hope your dh and family are ok.xx

vjay I am going for the weigh in on friday too. well done for being moderatly good.

4ever yeah to being so zen like - dripping boobies is the quote of the week.xx

4everhopeful · 12/08/2010 12:42

Oop meant to throw oodles of babydust at louey & soz not been able to vote for ur sis cos not been on pc to do link (same for Dollys vid Blush) Also meant to say yay to Blue bookin hol, am Envy and inspired me to do same for our planned trip to cyprus next year so can slowly pay it off, but hugely ashamed that yesterday i went to pick up the free print i got from the professional photo shoot of S done at mothercare, and accidentally(!) brought the lot for £250! Blush Spent rest of the evening feelin incredibly guilty that could basically be the cost of one of us to go on hol, or more or less cover the catering for the christening! Blush Tomorrow is a reality check, my 1st reduced mat pay cheque Confused goes down to a pittance from now til feb, then thats it, live off the redundancy til it runs out in about 2yrs max, then panic! Thats why i want another baby asap, and I wanna be a sahm forever! Sad Anyway, the spending stops now! Its a frugal existence after those blummin extravagant photos! Blush

4everhopeful · 12/08/2010 13:10

Oop x post lovely brave mermaid... Bless the kind and very sweet mrmermaid im so glad you have such a fab supportive hubby Grin .. I genuinely believe that the road to recovery for you is with Dh and Ds support and love, some quality pamper 'you' time (shopping/long baths/manicures/face packs/rose etc) and lots of serotonin releasing exercise (what is gig?! HmmGrin) Same for you and Monkey you have lost a parent and babies, the worst grief women can suffer, ive been there too, the utter low & spontaneous moments of sheer depression & doom that hit you, are normal parts of the grief process, dont beat yourself up that you have a timeframe to 'recover' i still get v down about my dad and my babies, i prob always will.. However we are all stronger than we realise, so hang onto that, and to the good things in your life, as well as your precious memories.. You already know how much i admire you for your stoicism! Wink

barbie1 · 12/08/2010 17:06

Well its finally bed time, we have been out to meet a friend from newcastle here on holiday and she bought me a lovely goodie bag of cosmetics, 4 mascaras, day cream, night cream the works Grin oh i do love a goodie bag!

Dolly missed her last sleep and is totally knackered, tried her on a bottle a little earlier, totally casual, left it in front of her and she tried to hold it and drink...managed to get a little in her....

So the plan is to give her a bottle on her next wake up, fingers crossed guys!

4ever dont be embarrassed that you have a better behaved good sleeping dd, im happy for you. Wouldnt wish this on anyone!

mermaid awww mr merman sounds lovely, i hope that you feel a little lighter in throwing away the AD's, clearly they arent for you. Massage, reflex and all lovely floaty treatments, along with a retail splurge, nando's and some quality time with your boys will get you through, and as back up we are here too Smile

vjay cheers for the hug, can you feel my ribs sticking out yet? Grin
No idea about recipe for fat free brownies, made them from a box Blush
A new range of catwalk cow products have just been launched here, all fat free and lovely....mmmmm.
Ill google a recipe for you though and you can let me know if they are any good!

Right im off to massage my face with all my goodies...night all xxx

mermaidspurse · 12/08/2010 17:13

made them from a boxGrin

bluesatinsash · 12/08/2010 20:48

Evening everyone, where to start? ai- ai-ai (throws up hands in Italian way)

barbie - echo what everyone has said, rmeove that stick you are beating yourself with and replace it with a big fatfree gold star! Like monkey - I'm almost murderous if I have rubbish sleep and shudder to think how I would have bene if DH hadn't let me catch up EVERY weekend during the dark days of Ben's nocturnal feeding.

Try upping the solids at each meal so her booby feeds become more and more just snuggle time that calorie time.

Food wise, I started with one (large Anabel Karmel) cube of either fruit or veg mixed with rice at lunch then dinner time followed by a Plum baby yoghurt. D is nearly 6 months so maybe up the ante and offer cereal for breakfast too? Your aim is to have D on 3 meals a day just like you with brekkie @ 8am, lunch @ 12pm and tea @ 5.30pm.. B squash and sweet potato always look more filling too and go nicely with pear and apple mixed in for sweet taste.

Come 6 months you can introduce protein and at this stage I made cauldrens of cheese sauce Grin and poured it over brocoli/cauliflower etc. Then by 7 months I introduced fish/chicken and beef in the form of cheesy fish, bolognase and chicken with stock which can be mix and matched with any of your beg choices.

Hope this helps x

mermaid - ADs be gone... They're not for everyone and really hope some tlc, reduced workload and pampering DH help you move fwd along with us Emmsy's, the gym, your sense of humour and love of throwing yokel into a sentance Grin.

cupcake - I bow to your DB's brains! I got the first answer correct (what letter...I only go it as one of the hints was Dorothy's dog - TOTO!). Only got one further one (the mugshots of stars from their youth!). I've boxed and wrapped up your goodies and Ben and me will post tomorrow as a dander over to our local post office, enjoy and hope they fit!

Vjay - well done you for negotating Dundee! Big Smile at Ajay getting his furst dressing gown and slippers. Man o man he is nearly one Shock!!! Here's a heave up to get you back on the diet wagon Grin

louey and monkey - loving your Boden choices Smile. I had the jacket version of the velvet coat couple of years back. It was an eye watering £90 but got it in the January sale for £54 which is still a bit much but it does swing out at the back so nice Smile. louey - where are we with your symptom spotting? Have you caved yet? Is TEW showing her face? Have voted for your sis. Is she in America?

4ever - yay! to S sleeping through, you are one lucky lady. My neice was the same, slept throughy from 10 weeks as she was a BIG baby and just filled up her tummy before bed. She's now 9 and loves her sleep to this day Smile. You need to step away from your wallet now Grin, its soo hard when there are so many lovely things to buy. where are you thinking about re: Cyprus? I love it, been to Pathos twice and had a big 5 star fortnight there with DH the summer we conceived Isaac. Halycen days of reading, sunbathing, dinner and DTD Wink.

MLS - loving your website Smile. I'm revamping the boys playroom and quite fancy a photo of them when Ben is a little older...

We're in the middle of getting our garage converted to a dining/family room and they broke through the wall today which was sooo exciting as they have been holed up in the garage doing who knows what. The builder(Steve, 4 sugers in his tea, lots of tattoos, calls me toots Grin Blush) just sawed a door shape in our hall, popped in a door and voila welcome to your new room Grin. DH and me are dying to play in it tonight and measure it up for possible corner sofa (we have dining furniture already as playroom was once our dining room). Standing in there earlier was like being in a new house again - man I am easily pleased these days.

Talking of which, I must go down and get my mood board started . I'm going pink floral with the curtains in my "I'm the only female in the house, I deserve a pink room" kinda way. Subtle of ourse, big swirling poppy pink with muted grey accents -

cupcakefairy · 12/08/2010 20:48

mermaid my bro was the distinguished chap Grin ...so distinguished he answered a question about Grand Theft Auto when Paxo had barely got 3 words out Grin
So sorry you've been feeling crap. I will never forget you saying you can tell an Emmsy husband by his wet shoulders and it sounds like merman (loving that barbie Grin) has been doing a stirling job of absorbing your tears. I admire your strength (and your honesty) so much.

4ever I second Vjay*- so fab about the bfing :) but Shock to the photos!! Bet it was just irresistible though with that gorgeous face of Summer's!

barbie yay for getting milk down Dolly..hope it fuels her for the night. And lol to your Ramadan faux-pas Grin

Going to the docs tomorrow to get my perineum checked out (TMI!!) Bit scared but not sure why Confused

bluesatinsash · 12/08/2010 20:51

cupcake - we pressed send at exactly the same time - spooky!

Hope it all goes OK at docs tomorrow x

cupcakefairy · 12/08/2010 20:54

I was just about to say that blue Grin we're so in tune!
Thanks so much re parcel; very excited!!
Your new room sounds so fab :)
Yes, I got that question from Toto too!! Haha...and the Lewis starter q that none of them could get

Also forgot to say wooooah to Ajay being nearly 1!! Can't believe it!!

barbie1 · 13/08/2010 06:33

And just when you think it cant get any worse...........

It doesn't Grin she woke only twice!!! whooppiiiiieeeeeee

Shame i couldn't sleep though Hmm, will have to sleep train myself!

She woke 45 mins after going down and i though oh no here we go again Sad, went and fed her again and she went til 1am and then 4.30! Fingers, toes, arms, legs and ears crossed that tonight is the same.

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement and advice, really without you i don't know how i would cope (and thats the truth!)

So today i am getting tough, i know she can go 3.5 hours without food, cos she did while we were out yesterday. This is the reason i think she slept, having had a bigger feed before bed. Im going to with hold my boob until 3.5 hours have passed. Finding it hard to know when to give her solids though Hmm she either is too tired or isnt interested???? idea's????

mls i was awake feeding at 1am and was thinking of you! Have you got any business cards for your web page? If you have can you send me some? I go to a bumps and babes class and could give them out for you? Nothing like it here in Dubai, im sure they will go down a treat..im also going to a music class and swimming class after ramadan so potentially a few more clients there too.....only if you want too of course Blush

mermaid My baking skills are only 'from a box' when as sleep deprived as moi Wink Very yummy though!

vjay Ajay is nearly one?????? Shock boy oh boy how time flies when you are having fun! Awww at the slippers and dressing gown, too cute. Dolly now is in pj's, so much easier to get on then a babygro...i'm an expert at putting things on backwards while she is on the move!

sabs how is the fasting? can a nursing mother drink/ eat during day light? dont want to make any more mistakes Blush
Hope mini you is more settled now Smile

neeko how is H? did the 4 month sleep regression only pay you a short visit??? hope so x

cupcake hope the doc's went ok, i couldnt bear the though of any more 'down there' things going on...Thankfully the pill is working for me (although i keep forgetting to take it!) so my fango is safe for the time being Wink I must get the chance to see this brainy bro of yours...

blue when i grow up i want to be just as wise as you, you always come along and help me back on my feet, so ta very much.....loving the sound of your new room, its a must to have a pink room in the house!

Dolly is waking gotta dash, love to all xxx

Neeko · 13/08/2010 09:18

Hello and sorry I've been awol. Been a tough week due to lack of sleep, Dh's constant work etc. Blah, blah, blah. Lovely to come on here though and share in all your highs and lows Smile Lost one lb at the weigh in today despite the Nandos and other sneaky munchies Smile

Mermaid Gah to the ADs but a huge at Merman for being so lovely. Hope your darkest day is behind you and every day brings you much sunshine. It amazes me that you can still be so witty whilst feeling so low. The KFC comments made me lol Grin

Barbie Yay! for last night's sleep. We're still very up and down though not so bad as you. My mum said it would be great if H would just say "Right I'm off to bed now, but I plan to be up at 1, 3, 4 and 5 so grab your sleep while you can!" Grin Hope the bottle thing is going well. We're a hopeless case and I've given in decided to focus on the cup. Re the fatty milk. I read on here that they now reckon the let down mixes things up and baby gets a mix of all three types at the same time so feeding for the hind milk is not necessary. H is also a snacky baby.

Blue Your posts make me Smile. They're so upbeat about the holiday Envy and the conversion and mood board . You've come so far in the past few months. well done you!

MLS 9 weeks to go. I'm getting so excited. Always think it looks as though we don't get on as I hardly post to you after textin 90 several times a day! Grin

Monkey The pizza hut diet is really delicious. Wink Is it ok to be a wee bit excited for you this month? I really laughed at the Christmas stuff with your DS. M's 4 in 6 weeks and that's all we get out of her. I know the wrapping paper will just be off the birthday presents and we'll be hearing about the man in the red suit. Can't really comment as I get so excited too!

Vjay glad you had a good time in Dundee. I really like it there. We may not lose the weight as quickly as we'd like, but we'll get there. I'm really looking forward to Ajay's b'day - our 1st graduate turns 1!

4ever you sound so blissed and loved up. Happy for you. Well done on the mixed feeding too.

Louey So impressed by the running. Have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Cupcake still to watch your bro. It's on the plan for tonight. Hope the perineum check goes ok...

Mrskate Hi. Glad all well with you. I don't want to go back to work ever either.

Sabs Can't remember if i've said it already but congrats on the job front. How's ramadan going?

Ok think I've pushed my bnap luk to the limit. Later lovelies.

Neeko · 13/08/2010 09:19

bnap luck?!? Nap luck

VJay · 13/08/2010 10:44

Bugger just lost a fabulously long post Angry

Oh well.....

I have already texted you neeko but well done on your 1lb weigh loss, or 2 packs of butter Wink

mermaid are you joining us today?, and you jools?

barbie YIIIIPPPPPEEEEE at Dolly sleeping, just keep feeding her up Smile

blue Envy at your garage being nearly done. DH has said he will crack on with ours next week once ds1 is back to school. I look forward to when it's further on and I can muck in too Smile

There was loads more I wrote but I have to see to the boys now.

I lost 2lbs last week, so that's 6lbs lost so far, the pizza hut diet obviously works Wink

Gotta go ds1 is getting cross with Ajay Confused he is getting called a bad baby!!

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 13/08/2010 11:26

MummyLovesSadie · 14/08/2010 16:22

Will attempt to catch up with you all later, been away to my parents for a few days.

Sending you hugs Louey.

Waves to Vjay

monkeybumsmum · 14/08/2010 16:33

Well done to all the dieters Smile Am stood here stuffing my face with choc chip cookies and feeling rather guilty Grin I have a distinct lack of willpower....

Louey Has AF turned up yet? i do hope not!

Vjay and Neeko I don't think it's worth being excited tbh! No AF as yet which is funny as LP normally 9 days and am now 10dpo but think it is more likely to be my body stretching my LP out, which would be good. Have got sore 'bum bones' (tmi Blush) which normally happens a couple of days before AF so it'll probs start Mon/Tues I reckon...

Am off to make chocolate flapjacks Smile
Have a good weekend all x

loueytbg · 14/08/2010 19:51

Quick post to say AF turned up as predicted this morning. Did a test yesterday which not suprisingly was BFN - should have known better than to test on Friday 13th. Am feeling v low but have booked a drs appointment for Wednesday. This cycle was 19 days. Not fun having a period every 3 weeks, and one week of that I feel sick and dizzy and have lots of cramps.

monkey really hoping this is your month

Sorry for me post. Will do a proper catch up when I get a chance.

monkeybumsmum · 14/08/2010 20:51

Oh Louey Sad ((((hugs)))) Am so sorry you're feeling low, it's just so difficult being disappointed every month, let alone having to contend with feeling rubbish too. I really hope the dr has something constructive to say on Wednesday, and that he/she can do something to help you.
Thinking of you xxx

mermaidspurse · 14/08/2010 21:25

I'm sorry to read that louey none of it is much fun really is it?
Of the top of my head what about some extra iron, my cycles are about 21-23 days and I usually spend a good few days feeling really sick. I am sure that never happened before my first mc.
did you investigate accupuncture cos they are good at getting your cycles a bit more regulated. Thinking of you.x

ds 9th birthday tomorrowShockGrin he is uber excited. I have 30 pasties in the fridge- just- and we are gearing up for the annual beach fest when it will rain horizontally!
Also bizzarely I have a EDD tomorrow too, that' gone quick but not really been dwelling on it.

poor ajay being a bad baby and we won't be able to call him that for much longerShock

right back to the sofa and wineSmile

oh barbie hope you have a better night and blue loving the idea of an idea board, think I need to do that, thankyou.

loueytbg · 14/08/2010 23:37

DH is watching match of the day so I thought I would try and catch up properly...

First off, well done to all the weight loss queens, neeko, mermaid and vjay and to barbie on your no sleep diet. Especially love the pizza hut and KFC diets Grin

mermaid hugs and hairstrokes for tomorrow and I hope your DS has a fab birthday. Don't think I replied re the mizzle - DH is cornish so I should know that really. He has introduced me to some other cornish words like smeech. Its a whole different language. And I agree, merman sounds fabulous to me. My DH could seriously do with taking lessons.

I was on iron following the mc and I've wondered whether perhaps I was anaemic again. No doubt will end up getting tested this week. One of my dizzy spells happened when I was out running in the woods, was a bit scary really. But they happen even when I'm sat down. Haven't yet had time to sort out the accupuncture but hopefully will this week.

monkey can't imagine sore bum bones Confused. Hope this is the start of a very long LP for you. This one was only 11 days and before DTs they were only 8/9 days so I feel your pain.

vjay LOL at DS1 calling Ajay a bad baby. You wait, Ajay will be fighting back soon. When is he 1??

mls hope you have had a good break my lovely and have managed to have a bit of a rest. Are the steroids helping? What's this about a webpage - have I missed something?

blue wow - sounds like your garage conversion is coming on really well! Not sure about pink though but that is because I am an ungirly girl. I think if I ever had a girl they would most definitely NOT be dressed in pink. You will have to post some pics when its finished. I love to nose look at other peoples decor Wink Sounds like you must be getting through the sugar though...

neeko is H not sleeping again?? Poor you - hope DH is going to be not working so hard so you get a bit more help

barbie keep feeding her up - it is going to get better. I know everyone has said this already, but you are doing a fanastic job and please don't beat yourself up about the idea that your BF may not be enough for her. You have BF'd her for 6 months which is wonderful and more than the vast majority of mums manage. She is just an active baby and needs a bit more food now - even if you had the fattiest milk in the world she would still need extra at this stage and she is also crawling don't forget.

jools so pleased you've booked a holiday. October is really not far away. Hope you are resting a bit now the big push has finished.

cupcake how did perineum check go?? Hoping its all healed up nicely.

kate hugs, its hard going back to work but honestly, it will be fine. You will love the fact that you can have a cup of tea/coffee in peace. Have you sorted out childcare for JD yet?

4ever yay to S sleeping through, that's fabulous. Know what you mean about Mothercare though. I can't go into any baby/toy shop with buying something. Still. Did it again today Blush Did you manage to find something for the christening?

I'm sure I've forgotten somebody but its late and I need to go to bed. Going to try and take DTs swimming tomorrow and I had the hangover from hell today due to getting trashed last night in my desolate state. Onwards and upwards and all that....
