Hi

Barbie what a stress you've had, you poor thing. Hope it's all easing now.

4ever Really Envy at what a chilled baby S seems to be. M was a bt like that too. Wish H was... Have a lovely day on Sunday.

Blue love the curtains. The room will be gorgeous and a lovely sanctuary from your boy-dominated world Smile Thanks to you and Mermaid, I'll be lighting a candle tonight too and counting my blessings.

Sabs so sorry I wasn't in touch yesterday. I remembered in the middle of the night. Hope it went well.

Moon I think you should go and see your doc. Knowing can't be worse than not knowing and since you've been pg twice before it's highly unlikely that you never will be again. Deep breath and go.

Vjay Glad the grandparents are there and huge gold star for the studying.

LBM Good luck with work on Monday and i'm pleased you have a one week taster.

Monkey How're you doing lovely?

MLS Hope you managed some sleep last night and the dummy helped.

Cupcake well done on the pupd. Hope it's still working.

Mermaid I've only done yoga once and I fell asleep!

We're still battling the sleep war here. Frantically reading 'Healthy sleep habits, happy child' for ideas for Barbie and I, although I suspect there's no magic bullet where H is concerned.Sad

Have man coming round to measure up for a new ensuite today. Unlike Dh and I to be so proactive.

And for laughs. Was sitting on floor with H after changing her nappy this morning. Stood up and my jammie trousers were wet. Thought for a yucky minute that she (or I!!) had peed but turns out I'd been sitting on a baby wipe!! Grin

BQ Have some more sand and a big glass of OJ to keep your vitamins up.

VJay · 15/10/2010 09:58

Morning Smile

Firstly monkey I forgot about the time zone Blush and Hmm

4ever I did Grin at S chatting to your boobs, so cute! and well done to her on her crab like crawling Grin. Have a wonderful day on Sunday, it will be fabulous I'm sure Smile

lbm i'm loving babybelles stealth moves too, I can just see you looking down and wondering 'how did that happen?????' Grin
Good luck going back to work next week Smile

mermaid and blue thanks for letting us know about mc awareness, I wasn't aware.
Oh and lovely curtains blue. Our windows go in on Monday so we will be water tight YAY Grin, and dh is off next week and putting in the suspended floor, so hopefully by the end of next week the whole house will be on the same level Grin, high five dh! Grin

barbie I am so releived for you as you must be too. Let us know how the dog whisperer goes.

sabs how did you get on yesterday?

moon I echo what neeko says about the doctors Smile, we'll hold your hand Smile

neeko Grin at sitting on the babywipes, I've done it too many times now, but my arse is just so big it's hard to see them before I sit down Grin

Right Ajay and dh are asleep, I'm not meeting the gp's till later, so let the revision commence.

Cupcake Glad to hear the jabs went OK, how is your bf doing? How long has she got to go before her lo is due?
4ever I am back and hopefully for good Grin Love the fact you have bought Summer weebles for Christmas, at least every time you look at them they will make you smile! Clamped - ouch Shock Is the christening this weekend?
Neeko How's your cold? Are you feeling better?
Barbie Oh poor you, it's all going on for you at the moment sweets. It must have been so scary when you thought Freddie had bitten dolly, thank goodness it turns out it wasn't that, you must have been having such a conflict of emotions. When is the dog whisperer coming? I was the same as you wanting everything to be perfect but soon learned quite quickly that what will be will be, I really wanted Ewan to be in a routine when I went back to work (I also wanted him to be sleeping through the night Hmm) and although he has the same bath bottle and bed routine his naps are as and when and he seems to dictate far more than I intended Smile
Vjay How was lunch with your grandparents?
Blue I second the need for photo's of your newly designed room!
LBM Good luck with going back to work on Monday - sounds like you've planned it well with a nice gentle introduction Wink
Moon I definately think you should go to the doctors IF there is something not right it could be that it can be fixed, don't leave it too long, I kept putting my head in the sand for the same reason and now I feel like the oldest mum on the block!!

Well I don't think it will be long before E is a walking nightmare rather than crawling, climbing and standing nightmare Grin He seems to find trouble and isn't content with doing one thing at once, if he's crawling or trying to stand he has to be holding toys in his hand at the same time and then wonders why he has so many bruises Hmm Little monkey!

I too will be lighting my candle at 7pm tonight and thinking of all my lovely MN friends too Smile

BuddhaBelly · 15/10/2010 13:50

Oh and not sure if anyone can help with this one but . . . Ewan has slept through 4 times since he was born, 3 of those were just before the last time he was ill so I could see why it stopped but the night before he went through until 5.40 am a record!! But last night he woke at 12.50 am and then at 3.30 am after half an hour of crying we gave in and he came into bed with us but I didn't sleep a week the whole time. I just don't understand how he can sleep through one night and not the next? Admittedly this is better than it used to be as up to a few weeks ago we were getting up to him 5-6+ a night he just doesn't seem to self settle. Any ideas lovely ladies?

MummysLittleSunbeams · 15/10/2010 16:45

Hello lovely ladies I'm back! Grin Different name but still MLS! I've had a quick scan through the thread, thank you all for your messages of support & yes Blush I was indeed high when I was sending those texts! The combination of pethidine & entonox is indeed a very potent one & all I can say is I wish I had a stash of both at home for a Saturday night Grin!

I have now joined many of you in the 'no sleep 'till I'm dead' club. My little dd2 Grin is determined to not sleep at night & wants to be permanently attached to me throughout the night. I'm getting between 2-4 hours sleep per night & the annoying thing is that she naps like a dream during the day. On Wednesday night I had to sit up in bed feeding her from 10pm until 5am & last night was pretty much the same with an hours break while she fitfully sucked a dummy that my mw recommended. Repeat ad infinitum 'it's just a phase, it's just a phase, it's just a phase.....'! Grin

I'll be back later to tell you about the birth (yes it certainly felt like the longest 2nd labour in history - I thought the second was supposed to be quicker??) & to have a proper catch-up.

Bye for now.

littlebellsmum · 15/10/2010 20:33

Welcome back MLS loving the new name and thank you for keeping the initials the same so that we can remember who you are! Yes, the night attachments are the worst but it really is just a phase and it to shall pass...

VJay · 15/10/2010 20:37

Love the name too mls Smile, and I feel for you in these early days, keep up the mantra, 'it's just a phase, it's just a phase', I think there are few on here saying that at the mo.

buddha is E teething?, this always throws Ajay routine.

Waves to lbm Smile

SabsFabulous · 16/10/2010 00:13

Evening ladies, hope everyone had a good week.

mls loving the new name and congrats again! Smile She's absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to hear the birth story

buddha sorry to hear that E isnt sleeping well. Sorry I dont have any advice to impart Sad He does sound like a cheeky monkey but in the nicest possible way Smile. Once they start walking its a different story! S started walking properly and confidently when we went on holiday and she just wanted to run away from us! I'm hoping to lose some pounds this way!

vjay How did you get on with the revision? It must be nice to have DH around with you for a whole week. And wow, I agree, your grandparents do sound amazing!

neeko Sorry to hear that H isnt sleeping well either. Hope your cold's gone now.

moon Sending you another hug. I agree that maybe you should go to the doctors but I understand how you're feeling. However you have to be positive and I know you will become a mummy.

lbm How did babybelle's first full day at nursery go? Wishing you the best of luck for your first day back at work next week and I really hope its not nowhere near stressful as mine.

blue thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to read my emails. I wanna see photos of the new room too!

mermaidtheyogalady Hope the kitten's OK!

4ever gold star for you and little S for being so advanced Smile Its lovely to read your posts and the love you have for her just radiates through. Hope everything goes well on Sunday and cant wait to see the photos Smile

barbie What a stressful week you've had. I am so sorry, I did mean to text you when I read about what happened to Dolly but somehow got sidetracked Blush but good to hear that all is OK with her. Hope the checkup for the scar went well. I also get aches there from time-to-time, especially when Saara accidently kicks it something. I wonder whether it will always be that way. I do worry about how the scar will feel if (hopefully) I get pregnant again and whether I'll feel a lot of pressure there

cupcake How's your bf doing? Sounds like you have had some progress with J's sleeping. Hope he's keeping it up!

louey Hope you're having a fab holiday

monkey sending you lots of hugs too. I think the idea the other ladies suggested of writing a letter sounds good, if you're comfortable doing that

bq Hope things are OK with you down in the sand

Sabs waves to curly iggy jools and our other lurkers.

I also had a candle lit today at 7pm. I was at my mums for dinner today but put a reminder on my phone to light one. Was thinking of all you lovely ladies.

I had my interview yesterday morning which I thought went well considering the circumstances. Today all of us were just on tenterhooks and couldnt concentrate as we just wanted to know the outcome. But.....I got the job! Smile Grin I was in so much shock I started crying! Blush But its been such a stressful 2 weeks for me with so much to deal with. Now we can plan to move out of our flat and hopefully buy a house next year where Saara can have her own room. It was quite difficult at work because I was up against some close colleagues and friends who didnt get it and now need to find another job before their redundancy period ends. I did get unhappy reactions from a few colleagues but I was very careful not to celebrate at work. But I did pop into krispy kremes on the way home to celebrate with the family! I'm joining slimming world next week Blush

Thank you so so so much for all of your texts, messages and posts on here. I felt so emotional reading them all and knowing that all you lovely ladies were rooting for me. You ladies are simply the best and I feel like I've made friends for life Smile Speaking of which, whats happening about our December meet-up?

I'm taking S for her 12 months jabs on Monday Sad Any advice from anyone about these injections? Apologies in advance if this is a sensitive subject, I really hope I dont offend anyone Blush as I know how emotive these set of injections are

Night all x

mermaidspurse · 16/10/2010 07:10

sabs yahoooooooooooooGrin

monkeybumsmum · 16/10/2010 08:36

Sabs Wonderful news - hooray! Grin Grin Grin I knew you'd be fab Grin What a huge relief for you, but must be very difficult with your colleagues. How long have they been given to find other jobs?
Re jabs, we just went with the doctors recommendation, and had them. I just didn't know what to do though...

Cupcake Realised on Thursday eve that you'd been up in the middle of the night too, chatting to 4ever - I felt really bad for not having said hi to you too, so here's a belated one Smile

MLS Lovely to see you back, you must be walking on cloud nine with your gorgeous girls Smile Hope you're not too tired x

Buddha No advice I'm afraid, but just wanted to send a (((hug))) in your direction - lack of sleep is so tough. Have you taken him to a cranial osteopath? One of my friends did this - her daughter hardly ever slept, and was up lots every night. I think the osteopath managed to improve it, although she has never been a child that needs a lot of sleep. Maybe worth a think about?

Has anything been organised re the December meet-up? I would so love to meet you all, and if it was on a day that i wasn't working then I will bring ds to London Smile Barbie aren't you coming back in December? What are your dates? Btw, SO glad that it seems Freddie wasn't at fault Smile Has the dog whisperer been yet?

Thanks for all the suggestion wrt writing feelings down - I shall try to find time to do it! I know it'll probably be cathartic, but part of me is dreading opening the flood gates Blush

Also VJay There was a timezone involved, but only an hour, so still worth a 'Shock' methinks Grin

Neeko Grin re sitting on a babywipe! V exciting re ensuite - what colour scheme are you going for?

Moon Difficult as it is, I think it's a good idea to go to the doctor - for all you know it might be something completely normal, or easily rectifiable, and then it might lessen the stress slightly. I do think stress can have something to do with funny cycles - can you try to find time to do something relaxing - maybe have a few long baths, or get one of those relaxation CD's? I know you're under a lot of stress at the moment, but it's important to find time for you (says she who doesn't Blush) Thinking of you x

LBM Good luck on Monday! Perfect timing only having a week, then a week off! Hope you don't miss BabyJ too much x

Right better go and get some chores done - dh is away on a golf trip tomorrow, and has a mountain of washing to be done for him to take away. Am polishing my halo whilst typing Grin

Have a good weekend all xxx

VJay · 16/10/2010 10:32

Yiiipppeeee sabs well done Grin, that is brilliant news. As for the 12 month jabs they are similar if not the same as the 2, 3 and 4 month ones. The mmr is given at 13 months. I had a letter through the other day for Ajays mmr but I'm going to wait until he's past the 18 month mark because if anything autism like is going to show it will be around then, or so they say, I'm no expert. But both the HV and doctor are happy with me to do that, they just said I'll keep getting reminders in the post to have it done.

Hey monkey I am still Shock for you and your early starts even with the hour difference Wink

My grandparents are heading home today, I have just dropped them off at the train station and they'll get home about 8pm tonight, love 'em.

The weather is lovely up here today, hope you're all getting it too Smile

well done sabs on getting the job, brilliant news Grin

thanks to everyone for your advice, i know i need to go but i think that will take some working up to. sounds a bit silly but have not stepped near a doctors surgery or hospital since the mcs, and im a bit scared to even approach them with all the bad memories they hold. but af has started today (i think, very light).

one day i am going to sit and post to you all properly, just need a few days where everyone else doesnt come before me in the world! monkey you are probably right about taking some me time, i often forget about myself and am embarrassed to say i havent had a bath in about 2 years, and that was only cuz df made me hae one when i hurt my back Blush (feel like i need to add that i do shower!)

4everhopeful · 16/10/2010 20:55

PHEW! Dh clearing up dinner, Summer asleep on my chest, beautiful cake, banners, favours, table confetti delivered to venue, family at mums, spraytan done Hmm clothes all ready... Most importantly, ready for Summer to be welcomed into the church and yet more thanksgiving for our blessing! ....And r e l a x! Grin Just wanted to say, unquestionably, like vjay did, you girls are all honoury fairy godmothers! Grin I shall raise a glass on behalf of each of you tomorrow as you have already been a major influence in her little life! Love you all and back for proper posting and photo sharing in the week! Grin x x x x x

BlueMoon1981 · 17/10/2010 00:01

hope you all have a lovely day 4ever you are so lucky and you deserve every second of it

barbie1 · 17/10/2010 04:32

.

Neeko · 17/10/2010 06:52

Hi all.

Sabs Grin Grin Well done, clever lasy. Now where's our crispy cremes? Wink Re jabs. We had the MMR done at 13 months and all was fine for us. Didn't stop me worrying at the time. H will have it too, although Vjay's idea seems sensible too.

MLS Love the new name. Remember what Blue says: you're in the trenches now and it will get easier - at least some of the time! Wink

4ever have a lovely day. It sounds like a wedding Smile and maybe one day you will be helping her to organise one Smile

Monkey

Neeko · 17/10/2010 06:53

lasy? I meant Lady

barbie1 · 17/10/2010 06:54

God i dropped off the radar again for a moment!

4ever wishing you bundles of hug's, kisses and pretty things for what im sure will be a perfect day for you and your beautiful family! Pics please!

moon i know how scared you must be to go to the doctors, but just think of this....there are a few reasons why a person cant get pregnant, but very very few which cant be helped with a little medical intervention. It really might be as simple as a blood test, the again it might be more complex. All i know is that it might save months and months of heartache if you go ahead and get seen too. You will be a mummy, there are loads of options, clomid, ivf, blood tests etc....but you have to talk yourself into believing that there are options. Please dont give up. Can you go to a different doctor, one where the memories arent so painful? Or get dp to book you an appointment and tell you an hour before so you cant get stressed out into the run up?
Your periods sound a little like mine where, i have a scan to reassure me that i did have follicles and things where ok, i think this helped to put me at ease and relax for the 3 months before i was due to go back to discuss options (as you know i was all ready pregnant by then!) Deep breathe and pick up the phone, it really wont be as bad as you think......

sabs fabby news on your job Grin i can imagine it wasnt too nice to be put it that situation, but onwards and upwards, hold your head up high cos the best man lady got the job! Well done.

i will try to get back later to finish all what i want to write, dolly seems to have diarrhea and its a bit under the weather.
The dog whisper came and was a total nut job help to us. I shall tell you what happened next time....

I have so much to do but will return, ciao ......

barbie1 · 17/10/2010 06:56

god so many typo's Blush i have false nails after i bit them all off on the day of doggate i cant type for shit the life of me!

BuddhaBelly · 17/10/2010 12:42

MLS Smile love the new name. Sounds as if K has got you wrapped around her finger already Wink
Vjay We have only got two teeth at the moment so it could be that there maybe more on their way. He's never been good at night so I'm not sure it will make much difference on the sleeping front(unless he wakes up with a whole mouthful maybe Hmm) Grin
Sabs Congratulations You must be very proud of yourself getting through a difficult interview after being off for a year too - well done you Grin And well done to S too now she's walking! Smile
With regard to the 12 month jabs I take it you mean the MMR? I will be having them done but it does make you anxious making that decision.
Monkey Thanks for the advice on the cranial osteopath, I might well look into as I know the osteopath I went to with my back does it and she's a lovely lady. Now we just need you to listen to us and slow down and take some time out for you. I appreciate it's scary and you don't know how you will be, but a meltdown isn't a sign of failure it's a sign of healing.
Vjay I like your thinking smart lady! You have obviously looked into the MMR and that sounds like a really sensible idea - one I may just follow Smile
Moon Grin at the need to add that you shower Grin If you are seriously thinking about some investigations then I think you are half way there already, I hope we can help you come to the right decision for you. What does DP think?
4ever What a wonderful thought about us fairy godmothers Smile Hope today is going really well and S is loving being centre of attention.
Neeko That would be fabulous if you could include me in your email tips, thanks so much. I did Smile at the babywipe as I've done that myself so many times - who knew who much moisture those pesky things hold! Wink
Barbie doggate lmao that you can think of these funny things when so stressed! Look forward to hearing about the nut job dog whisperer. Hope dolly feels better soon.

Well we went to Clarks yesterday to get bear fitted for his first proper shoes, oh my that was an experience both financially and physically! You take a ticket like you're in a waiting room, Mum's are pushing, Dad's are bored, kids are crying all in the tiniest space imaginable! Phew don't want to do that again in a hurry! Smile

bluesatinsash · 18/10/2010 14:07

Attempting a catch up at work whilst munching - as always - on my Ryvita - cardbroadtastic Grin.

4ever - hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, I was thinking about you all and your precious princess and star of the show - Summer Smile. Next stop her wedding you know Shock!

Buddha - lovely to see yo uposting again Smile. Sorry you're having a hard time with getting consistent sleep out of E. Questions I would ask are: is here getting too much day sleep? Benjy has @ 2.5 hours in total split between 1.5 in morning and 45-1 in afternoon. Are you going into him too soon when he wakes during the night? We hear Ben sometimes and he can even be crying softly but unless it escalates we leave it a few minutes and he often just settles himself.. Failing that have you tried the pick up/put down method when he wakes (he wakes, cries you pick him up until he settles then you put him back down again - repat up to a gazzillion times but it can work if you stick to it...) Ben has eight teeth! but no sign of walking just yet so no shoe shop ticketing for us Smile. i have seen a gorgeous pair in Start Rite - old fashioned t-bar cute as a button and only £24 Shock. Have you plans for E's first b'day??

Neeko - LOL at you sitting on a baby wipe Grin. Hope you had a great week off with your hard working DH and stuff the diet - it doesn't count when you're on holiday. What major tips have you garned from the sleep book? The reason I say keep the morning nap but reduce the afternoon one is in my experience my boys have really needed their morning nap but can go longer after they wake from that one and a shorter afternoon = nice and tired but not overtired for bed..

barbie - how's everything chezbarbie? How are your eyebrows??

monkey - was thinking about (and everyone else) when I was sent this amazing xmas gifts catalogue. It has cool t-shirts I could imagine your DS in - the pirate or dinosaur ones are gorgeous. MLS (loving the name) I though of baby Kitty when I saw the mini babygrown with teeny angel wings...

How are you this week MLS? FWIW the one rule I adhered to in the early days is never let them sleep more than 3 hours at a stretch during the day and it alledgedly means they won't need mammoth catch up feeds during the night... The first few days and weeks with number 2 are bloody hard, the dare I say it drudgery kicks in much quicker as you have to keep your elder child's day to day routine going, school runs and playing and time for them so you don't have the luxury of just staying in your jammies and staring at your newborn which did make me a bit Sad even though I was mega lucky and had two DS1 free days every week when Ben was tiny..

Sabs - know we've spoken already but another high five for getting the job - clever clogs Smile. My DS1 had his MMR at 13 months after I read lots and lots on the subject but its a matter of personal opinion.

Vjay - go Pjay and his garage conversion - has he got a bob the builder belt? Grin

Moon - have you thought any more about deep breathing and phoning the doctor? you need a copyrightmermaid PLAN.

Hey to everyone else, better dash, off to a meeting x

barbie1 · 18/10/2010 17:07

look >>>>> [hangry] [hsmile] [hhmm] [hgrin] they are back!

Im back tomorrow, hopefully so will a few of you be, tis very quiet

Just very quickly skim read before putting ds to bed, had to [hgrin] at you Blue either you know me rather well, or else you're stalking me - tis one of my fave sites to shop from [hgrin] Love it!!! Have just ordered an apron for ds's stocking with his name on it actually, v cute!

Must fly, will try to come back on later, but an early night might win over xxx

PS 4ever Didn't manage to text, but was thinking of you, your dh and S ALL day yesterday, and was hoping you had a wonderful day. Can't wait to see some pics please [hgrin]

Love to all!

cupcakefairy · 18/10/2010 19:52

Hi ladies,

lbm birthday girl, hope the new role went well today. Only 4 days til some time off, yippee! :) pupd still going well; he goes off at bedtime like a dream now but still hit and miss with the naps and during the night.

buddha loving having you back regularly :) sorry E is being a cheeky monkey with the sleeping too Confused these babies know how to keep us on our toes!! My bf is doing well thanks..she's actually due this coming Sunday but is having so many contractions already. I'm SO excited to meet her lo...as I have no nieces/nephews yet this is the closest I have come to being an aunty and just can't wait.

4ever hope yesterday was just fabulous

sabs YEEEEAAAAHHHH. Just so proud of you after all the stress of the last few weeks. You should really be proud of yourself too but big hug to you for being so sensitive around your workmates too. Hope you celebrated with dh :)

Vjay did Cjay have a good birthday? Hope you blew the diet for it...I certainly did for mine Grin massive box of choccies, lots of cake and sweeties...naughty naughty! At Friday's weigh-in I was 3 lbs down from the week before so have probably put that all back on Grin

monkey bless you apologising for not saying hi the other night- I thought nothing of it! Oooh your talk of stockings has got me all excited for Christmas!

iggy if you ever lurk...we miss you!!

MLS eek at nighttime feeding marathons, well done you. Is dh off work? How is Sadie enjoying being a big sis? Hope you're really enjoying the first few days as a little family.

Moon It is very well documented that stress can delay ovulation. Having a long cycle is definitely not as much of a worry as a short cycle anyway, because it most likely means you're just ovulating later (whether through stress or just generally; I always ovulated around day 19 and had cycles of 33/34 days long) so your luteal phase (the time between ov and af) should still be long enough. But if you want to feel something is being done then what the others are saying about day 21 tests etc might be worth looking into just to know you ARE ovulating.

barbie how is the sleep atm? Glad the dog whisperer helped; tell us more!

blue well done on the curtains!

neeko still got your head stuck in the book? :) Hope it's helping. I've also read v good reviews of 'The no-cry sleep solution' which I might try if we carry on struggling.

Had lovely family weekend at my parents'. My BIL-to-be is a v good photographer & took loads of snaps of me, dh and ds...I can't wait to see them! We don't have any good ones yet of just the 3 of us.

Right sorry if this is full of typos, gotta dash...The Girl Who Played With Fire is calling to me now ds s down for the night. Oh how I love the feeling of being totally absorbed by a book Grin

4everhopeful · 18/10/2010 22:36

Hey lovely ladies thanks so much for all the tx and posts full of well wishes for the christening! Grin Sorry not yet replied! We had a beautiful day, the sun shone and Summer was a beautiful little fairy princess, the true belle of the ball, despite the early start and multitude of people queueing for a hold, she was a star, and was a real delight to everyone! Grin It all went fantastically well, teeny couple of hitches (mini dramas with great aunt and sis Hmm) but was a very beautiful and quite moving service, followed by a great party! Grin Had a brilliant Dj, all the kids had a ball Grin Summer was spoilt rotten with lots of gifts too! She now has 5 silver bracelets and 5 moneyboxes, amongst other things! Grin I will post pics asap!

Cupcake hope you had a fab birthday! Grin
