Btw, I'd be rather cheesed off if I had to buy as many presents as you do.

MummyLovesSadie · 29/07/2010 20:33

Fab Enders episode, had to try v hard not to cry. Soppy twat!

monkeybumsmum · 29/07/2010 22:20

Quicky from me - MLS What happened in "Enders??? Can't believe I missed it!!!!!

Will catch up when I have more than a few mins to spare - love to all!

loueytbg · 29/07/2010 22:42

Just popping on to say vjay christmas shopping NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Its too early

Neeko happy 4 month birthday to H. Glad you are having a chilled break

hi mls and monkey

am multitasking, drinking wine, watching glee as DH is away and cataloging stamps.

VJay · 30/07/2010 07:51

Morning, mls loved enders last night, I watched it with dh and had to hide my emotions too, twas fab though.

louey I am a little early this year yes, but I always start early cos I have send them down with visiting rellies, if not, pay a fortune to post them all.

neeko why don't you try a maxi dress with a cardi? I bought my maxi dress from Wallis and they are quite generous with their sizing too, so got a size smaller which gave me a boost, plus it hides ALL the lumps and bumps here I got the chocolate tropical print maxi, I have ordered a blue shrug to go with it, though that's not arrived yet.

monkey in enders, Denise came back, much to her terrified kids who had just buried her, and mad Lucas was keeping them all hostage. The emotional bit for me was at the end when they all ran out the house to safety and the police came and arrested Lucas, it was good

Meant to come back last night to catch up properly before I go Awol for a couple of weeks, but a friend popped over and the night just went!

We are going to a Christening at the weekend and then staying with family before going on holiday next week. I am hoping a change from the usual routine will give me something else to focus on rather than not being able to ttc.

Hope you all enjoy settling in to the greenhouse while I am away and that I return to some of you having a little more light during the dark times, BFP's, sleeping babies and bumps getting bigger!

barbie1 · 30/07/2010 16:00

Lurking...

Last two night we were up 8 times Dolly is really unsettled.....but we can feel a tooth! I think thats the reason, at least i hope so

Did a blue this afternoon and spent the afternoon making puree's pear, apple. butternut squash, sweet potato, parsnip etc etc. I got so ridiculously excited upon receiving a plastic bag full of bowls, spoons, freezer pots from me friend via the uk that i just couldnt help myself!

Thinking of you all, will write more once i catch up on some sleep x

ps sabs thinking of you x

Ah, life is good - babyJ is asleep for the third evening in a row ( hope I'm not jinxing this by writing it ) and life feels to be returning to normal. Older dc's are off school and I've just had 7 days of 3 kids, which has been a bit hectic - didn't help myself by booking older 2 into swimming lessons at 8.30 every morning. But survived and DH is now off for 2 weeks and then older dc's are going to stay with grandparents for 2 weeks, with a weekend at home in the middle.

And, so before I start trying to tidy the pigsty house, thought I'd try and do a decent post. Btw, why is it that everything I need is in my bedroom where babyJ is sleeping and I'm too chicken to go in as I want her to sleep!

neeko She's now 10 weeks and still tiny at just over 9lbs. Feeding is going well but she has had the runs for the last 2 weeks and so, we've been to the doctors to try and sort it out and not surprisingly, she isn't not gaining weight as she should. So next week could be fun on the weight front - plan to be bolshy bf'ding mum. Dr did say that she looked like a beautiful and healthy baby so that there was nothing to worry about. How is your battle of the (baby) bottle going? Re dress for your christening - if you do go for a maxidress, try and get one with a fitted top and buttons or you'll struggle to feed.
lol at H wanting to be an only child - think that baby J would like that too but then she sees her brother and gives him the biggest grins, so maybe not!

Barbie Oh poor you - I've got some matchsticks here if you want them to prop your eyes open. Is your DH at home or are you having to do this on your own?

Vjay Enjoy the packing but I do have to say, Christmas shopping just isn't right in July! I'm still working on things we need for our holiday next week and dd birthday in September!

mermaid Clotted cream and jam - yummy! Much better than dieting - I'm planning to make the most of my last 4 weeks of bfeeding before I make it back to slimming world...

louey I'm with you on the shopping but Vjay on the stamps? Really? ARe they very special stamps? Or maybe you had just over done the wine.

Talking of wine, jools, what a lovely companion you had on the train - its rare for anyone to even talk, never mind offer wine. Hope work isn't too tough at the mome nt.

MLS how's that bump coming on? I was over your way in Woking the other day - not stalking honest.

Hope my mummy buddies, Cupcake and 4ever are doing well with their bundles of loveliness.

Hello to everyone else and I think I've pushed my luck far enough - need to go and see if we are having visitors this weekend. Enjoy

anniebigpants · 30/07/2010 21:17

Hello all! Just marking my place. Havent been on for ages-have pages upon pages to catch up on.
All well my end, am back to work now, second week all done and dusted, only doing 2 days a week. All going well, am managing to juggle everything just fine.
E is cruising around the furniture now i wanted him to stay a leetle baby for a lot longer . He now has 6 teeth , two at the top and four at the bottom, weaning going great, he loves his grub-just like his Mummy . Ive joined Slimming World and am doing rather well, if i can blow my own trumpet-ive lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks.
My little O has to have an op next month and im dreading it-its a straight forward op to fix a hernia in his groin, done as a day case, im going to have to bite my lip not to cry when they are doing his general anaesthetic-poor poppet.
Will pop back soon, got false tan to apply as off to a wedding tomorrow, bye all XX

MummyLovesSadie · 31/07/2010 13:55

Hello, I hope everyone has found us as it's bloomin' quiet.

Annie yay you are back! I can't believe you are back to work again, still at least it's only two days a week, that sounds like my kind of job . Dh was asking me the other day about when I return to work, I told him I'm going to wait until this lo is 5, that means I'll be 46 ..... will anybody want me then?

LBM glad to see you back too. Have you got anything nice planned for the next two weeks or are you going to rest? My bump is coming along nicely thanks, although I did ask the midwife yesterday if an 18lb gain at 30 weeks was ok as it seems a little on the low side to me. What were you doing in my neck of the woods?

Vjay are you back on the carbs seeing as it's the weekend?

Neeko yes I definitely think a maxi dress is a good idea, I love love love maxi dresses! Get the right style & everything you want to hide will be hidden & you will look & feel elegant. I had a quick scoot round the shops yesterday & was surprised to see some Autumny-type maxi dresses - lovely.

Mermaid I will reveal the boys name when I'm 50 & there is absolutely no chance of me having any more children! Did you enjoy Toy Story? Did it make you cry?

Barbie Hows the weaning going?

QA have a fab holiday.

Monkey you are missing classic Enders at it's best! Yes it all happened like Vjay said, when Denise went back into the house, Chelsea was telling her to "Back off murderer" & was going to call the police!

The other program I'm into big time now is Big Brother. Is anyone else watching it? The 'ignore the obvious' task has been the best task in the whole history of Big Brother!

Sabs did I see on fb that you caved in & bought a dvd for the car??!

Well I've been nesting today. Cleared out several cupboards, taken stuff to the charity shop, put stuff in the loft. I'm itching to get started on the nursery but I can't do anything yet until my BIL (who's coming to stay next weekend) has skimmed the ceiling to get rid of the artex & our handyman has built the cupboards that the clothes are going in. COME ON..... pregnant woman with needs here!

cupcakefairy · 01/08/2010 07:58

Hi mls just dropping in to say I have found u all & am reading just no time to post at laptop. hopefully today. I loved ignore the obvious & was wetting myself laughing at 'john and josie are talking about having a lie down' I think sam will really liven things up now.

barbie1 · 01/08/2010 08:10

Hello....

lbm please pass me the match sticks, in fact a box of them would be more useful....im so tired im actually shaking Last night was so bad, 1 hour sleep at 6.30, would settle til 10pm, wake at 1.15 til 4.15 then back to bed until 6.45... blue was it ever this bad for you? PLease tell me it was, not sure how much more i can cope with? Capol isnt working, rocking, controlled crying, singing, nothing! Im sure its the teeth, she seems to be forcing her hands in her mouth and doing a cry which indicates that she is feeling sorry for herself. I dunno, tis hard being a mum
If she hasnt improved in the next couple of months we are seriously considering calling in the dubai supernanny!

On a brighter note dolly is standing!!!! she crawls the the furniture and pulls herself up...then lets go before crashing back to earth and starting again....i have it on video so will post in on fb (on a private setting) so you can see what a monster clever child i have created

Oh and the weaning is going great, her fav so far is pear....apple today.

I think we have lost 4ever on route to our new greenhouse

mls ahhh nesting, i loved nesting...come on tell us the boys names, or we can just wait til you give birth meh ha ha

vjay how is the diet going? We are defo coming home a month earlier than planned so now im in a mad panic about losing the weight, if i can sort out dollies sleeping i will start back in the gym, if not then i really dont know what to do, im a bit like our lovely mermaid i just cant give up bread and potatoe's and due to being sucked to death by the tiny terror im starving most of the time and cant really cut too much out of my diet. I need to be able to fit back into my jeans in four weeks, the uk is goingt to feel bloody cold for me, and there is no way im going to buy a new wardrobe to go home with.

sabs how are you my lovely, i hope the new car seat and the dvd combo worked for you! Still laughing at your dream you had of me, did you enjoy the burger ...

neeko i forgot to say a big well done to H for rolling! clever little tot...And i agree, maxi dresses all the way! Im living in them right now, the more fabric to swamp me the better although im sure i look bigger due to being only 5.3...

annie fab amount of weight loss in such a little amount of time, congrats... How are you finding work? my old work have offered me a few positions where i could go back part time or the hours of my choosing but to be honest i couldnt concentrate with so little sleep, so ill be sticking with vjay and 4ever and be aSAHM for a while longer yet. Oh and well done on the cruising son!

Gosh so much more to catch up with but i have to go for now, hopefully ill get back soon.

Excuse any mistakes in grammar and content, i really an too tired to correct

Happy sundays x

MummyLovesSadie · 01/08/2010 09:08

Cupcake the favorite part of that task for me was when the male stripper started stripping off in front of Corin, oh & when Mario's Grandad was in the diary room dressed as Santa.... & of course when Davina was presenting in there & she licked John James' face! Dh has taken dd swimming now so I'm about to have breakfast & watch last nights episode!

Barbie please don't despair. One thing I've learned in the last three years is that when you are pulling your hair our with frustration/tiredness, it is only a phase. I know at the time it feels like it is going to go on forever & that everybody has an 'easier' baby than you but she'll start to sleep better before you know it & then it'll be someone else's baby that is driving their Mummy to distraction. Can you get these over there? Have you tried the teething rings that are filled with liquid that you pop in the fridge? So how long are you coming back for?

Gtg, sky+ is calling!

P.S. No I will not reveal the name!

barbie1 · 01/08/2010 10:21

mls i know...and thanks. In a few weeks i will be looking back and thinking how well we did to get through it, in the mean time i will continue to grin and bear it Fake tan works wonders and make me look almost normal to the outside world

the teething powders are banned here we have the rings and an assortment of teething aids....

enjoy sky plus....

MummyLovesSadie · 01/08/2010 10:58

Would they get confiscated by customs if you were sent some?

VJay · 01/08/2010 12:32

Afternoon lovelies

Just a quick one from me, my lovely sis will be here in a mo , I can't wait to see her and my lovely nieces

barbie is Dolly tugging on her ears at all, DS1 had an ear infection when he was tiny and I hadn't realised, there was no temp. just LOTS of crying, and remember the same happened with Ajay and I ended up at the out of hours with him and he'd burst his ear drum. I know this may worry you, and I'm sorry, but within half in hour of Ajay having some nurofen he felt a lot better and went to sleep. It is probably her teeth though, unfortunalty some babies suffer more than others. With DS1 we didn't even know he was teething, but we've known that Ajay is

mls and barbie the diet is going good, I don't think I've lost much, but I suppose the aim is to lose it slow ans steady. I will weigh myself tomorrow and let you know how I've got on

As for 4ever, she knows where we are I texted her, I think she's lurking from her phone

Hi ladies I'm having a mammoth catch up; I've made notes and everything but sadly J is singing for his supper so off to finish season 3 of Grey's while I feed him... mega long post coming up after that!!

cupcakefairy · 01/08/2010 19:12

Hello!

First things first- I weighed myself at my parents' this week which I hadn't done since before being pregnant.. 12st3 I was 10st7 before! They have a super accurate digital scale too so can't even pretend it's broken
Some is coming off just from walking though thankfully - I managed to squeeze (and I mean SQUEEZE, tummy hanging over ) into a skirt yesterday that didn't fit 2 weeks ago. My best friend is 27 weeks pregnant and we are swapping clothes- I'm giving her my maternity stuff and she's giving me what she can't fit into anymore
I'm eating ridiculous amounts of fruit at the moment anyway in my endless quest for easy trips to the toilet (TMI alert - yes the piles are still there; lovely. Dh thinks I'm a real romantic right now as I update him on my bowel movements every day!! Haha!)

Well done to Vjay and Neeko and others working hard! Really hoping it pays off for you all. I giggle to myself every time I read 'no point soup'- is it because there's no point to it without the dripping hunk of bread Oh and loved the email Neeko!

Neeko well done to H on the rolling! No more leaving her on the sofa then (not that I'm a bad mummy who does that to Jude ) fab that you and blue had such a good time and I second (or third?) the maxi dress idea. I wore one for BIL's wedding and covers up everything a treat! Is also dressy without being too dressy. Mine had an elasticated top part so just pulled one side down to feed J and covered him with a pashmina. Mine was from New Look they have a lovely selection & reasonably priced.

QA So sorry it looks like you can't ttc before your edd I know I was desperate to be pg again before mine so that must be hard. Although, a few ladies on this thread have got their BFP straight after their edd so you never know! Were you going away somewhere nice? Hope you have been able to relax.

jools mega chilled not knowing CD good for you. And yay for all the mentions of Wales in the last week

monkey hope you had a nice time back in UK

MLS I too was reading your post about girly times with dd. I second blue that little boys are divine but would love a dd someday (if the thought of giving birth again ever stops terrifying me! )
Yes the whole bb task was genius; the Santa thing was inspired

mermaid LOL at 'weird penchant for pink'. Hope your ds enjoyed Toy Story.

4ever yowser to the prolapse I'm now mega paranoid I have it too. GP didn't even check my fanjo at 6 week check which I was quite surprised at after my awful epi. Think I'll ask her to on Thurs at Jude's 8 wk check. Really hope you're feeling ok. From what I've read online it seems many women have more babies with it and then sort it out after. Hope the jabs were ok for poor little biscuit.

louey another fellow thumbsucker when I was about 10 my dentist said I'd have to have a brace but actually my jaw ended up realigning itself (or something ) when I stopped so I didn't need one. My teeth stick out a tiny bit but not rabbity or anything thanks for the advice re holiday - we are def gonna go in late September to South of France. Also re cycle lengths- what you thought was af on day 19 could actually be a breakthrough bleed in which case you might have ovulated straight after it. You should def chart so MLS and I can nose at it things are a bit clearer.

barbie EEK to Dolly's new sleeping regime! Hope it is teething so it doesn't carry on longer than necessary!
There's a show on C4 (do you get British TV?) on Tues (I think) about sleep problems that might have some good tips. You should look into cranial osteopathy if it carries on too. Friends had 6 mth old waking every hour and that sorted him right out straight away

annie can't believe little E is trying to walk already; seems like yesterday I was sat on the bus and received the little picture text of him at just one day old- aw! Hope being back at work is ok.

iggy just massive congrats again to you Hope you are just soaking up these first precious few days. In a couple of weeks you'll look at photos of iggypiglet in the hospital and wonder who on earth that baby is cos they change so quickly! Well done on a positive birth experience; so sorry the end wasn't what you wanted- sounds similar to us (except I wasn't as chilled as you beforehand ) with the forceps and possible em-cs. Did you have an episiotomy then?
(By the way MLS I think iggy did a hypnobirthing course so won't just be the stuff on the CD...but the CD is v good for relaxing & I did actually remember to use some of the breathing during my labour!)

sabs so sorry about your dh's uncle. Hope you are all ok.

curly how was your time way? Hope your parents loved pending time with curlygirl (how could they not?)

PFJ still thinking of you lots. Do drop in and let us know you're ok.

Moon so to read about you feeling you have lost yourself. I promise you you are still in there honey, just shifted a little. I was just looking at our list and how many babies there now are- proof that dreams DO come true. I remember 9 of these ladies being on the small pants bench not even a year and a half ago and in another year and a half I will be saying the same thing about many more of us

hello to all those I have not mentioned; sorry if I've missed something vital

As for me - last night Jude slept 10pm-7am! I woke at 7 (with rock hard boobs ) and had to check he was breathing! The cutie was just lying there sucking his thumb, still not even crying to be fed
I then woke dh to tell him how long J had slept (cos he never notices how many times I get up in the night anyway!) - don't think he was v impressed by that wake up call!! We'll see if it lasts but it was very lovely even if it is a one off!

Right, this is a majorly long ramble so I think I will go now and sample what dh is baking- some kind of dried fruit and seed bars so I will pretend they are healthy

Neeko · 01/08/2010 21:28

Hi all. Quick post as I'm off to bed in a mo. We seem to have hit the 4 month growth spurt/sleep regression (Barbie I feel your pain) so need to get the ZZZs while I can.

Been pretty good on the diet front though the excess feeding has made my boobs full again so probably won't have lost much. Will update tomorrow.

Well done to Vjay for sticking it out. I'll be texting you tomorrow

Barbie try to limit bread to two slices and eat ryvita. Seems to be working for me. Eeek to Dolly standing - she's very clever for her age!

Cupcake Too early for you to be cutting things out. Give your body another month or so. Lucky, lucky you and clever Jude for all that sleeping.

Annie Lovely to hear from you and well done on the weightloss. Come back and share your tips. Glad to hear E is doing so well.

MLS Hope you're not doing too much. May need to fly down and force you to sit on your bum.

Thanks for all the maxidress votes. I've never tried one and I'm not sure it's me but will try a few on. Going shopping with mum tomorrow for DD1's outfit cos she's not hoping to drop a dress size between now and then.
Back tomorrow.

SabsFabulous · 02/08/2010 08:46

Morning ladies. A quick post from my phone. Unfortunately DH's uncle passed away on saturday night . The funeral was yesterday. Thanks to all you lovely ladies for your kind words. On the positive side i managed to spend a couple of days with my grandparents who absolutely adored saara . Also thanks to everyone who asked about my work situation, i'm hoping to have some positive news today. It has been such a manic week! Sorry for the me post, will be back soon. Love to everyone x

mermaidspurse · 02/08/2010 09:29

sabs I am so sorry to ead your news. All my thoughts to your dh and your family.
Fingers also tightly crossed for you today too.x

VJay · 02/08/2010 09:45

annie forgot to say well done on your weight loss

cupcake that was a whopper of a post, well done and well done to J sleeping through

barbie did you get much sleep last night?

neeko I'd never tried a maxi on either til the other week and was suprised it suited me, go for it

Ok the weigh in, I have already texted neeko and compared results I lost 3lbs and am pleased with that,I did do a sneaky weigh on Friday and had lost 4lbs at that point , but was naughty yesterday, so back on the wagon today. Anyone else weighing today?

OP posts:
barbie1 · 02/08/2010 11:38

hello

sabs im sorry for your loss, my thoughts with you and the family....good luck on the job front.

vjay good for you re weight loss keep it up! ive stayed the same, havent really been trying as eating crap or not at all due to extreme tirdness, and no...no more sleep last night. 3 hours in total.

Have just been to the doctors, i sat and cried due to tirdness, Dolly was screaming and it was all a bit too much. No ear infection, just told baby is too active for her own good...and here is a bill for 280 pounds, thankyou very much
Doctor said a combination of being too active, teething and a possible gut infection..(waiting to get results from the samples) is making Dolly out of sorts. Im told i have to grin and bear it... this is me >>>>>
Poor dolly is wearing a bag on her foo foo to catch the wee, we have an hour to take it back to the doctors and the same for a dirty nappy, oh the joys!
Sorry this is a very indulgent post

I will not winge any more i promise!

cupcake can i be a tiny bit at J sleep through? well done on such a big post, wish i had the time.

neeko im awake all hours so will hold your hand through this tough period...damn the sleep regression phases.

Hi to everyone else...im on wee duty so have to go, back soon xxx
