Hello - I'm still here but the new term, dh's birthday, followed by DD's 7th birthday this friday is making life a tad busy. Plus, we are transfering baby J onto bottles in prep for her settling in sessions at nursery which start next week Shock.

cupcake and 4ever laughing is just great isn't it. I go the first one from baby J on Sunday when her big sister was blowing raspberries at her - tried and failed to video it.
I know that I'm not having any more, but as I get the moses basket ready to hand back and the newborn clothes ( closely followed by the 0-3 ones I need to sort), I'm starting to think that having another could be fun.... I'm sure you must be thinking similar things!

MLS Heartburn is hideous isn;t it - I mananged it with baby J by being really careful about what I ate and drinking lots of hot water ( I worked with a dietician who gave me lots of advice and it seemed to help but the water was the main thing)
I think I hated gaviscon more than the heartburn!

Blue what a scare - glad things are resolving

Sorry - no time for more personals as we need to eat tonight ( tea is v late as we've had an arcitect round who has some fab ideas for our house - very exciting)

loueytbg · 08/09/2010 08:41

Morning!

lbm that's quite a week!!! Hope DD has a fabby 7th birthday (and DH too) and J takes to the bottles ok. Are you going back to work soon??

So what do you all think of the new Strictly line up then It feels like the run-up to Christmas now.

QA dress arrived and is too big! I bet the size 12 will be too tight. It is lovely though. How did the wine/temping experiment go Grin

barbie if you're lurking - hope you are having fun!

Of to print off my FF charts to take to my gynae appointment later. Lets hope I see someone who has been doing it for more than 5 minutes. I vividly remember my first appt when I was trying to get pg the first time round and a junior Dr who had probably done about 2 days of gynae tried to tell me that I wasn't right about my short cycles since everyone ovulated on day 14 and had luteal phases that lasted 14 days....Hmm

mermaidspurse · 08/09/2010 09:55

good luck louey that you have a lovely consultant.

cupcakefairy · 08/09/2010 10:58

Louey Shock and Angry to your previous gynae. makes me so angry when hcps dont even know the basics of the menstrual cycle. my gps insist on lecturing me about nfp being ineffective every time i go in about anything & yet i once tried to explain it to one and she didnt even know about the thermal shift Shock really worries me that so many docs are treating women aggressively with hormones when the answer is often something extremely simple like late ovulation. so glad youre taking your charts in and know what youre doing! good luck.
also, yes was only 2 wks ago i was back in my fat jeans! all the weight is/was on thighs & bum & pushing my lump of a son up the huge hill by our rd seems to be doing the trick! (He's 15lbs10 now at 13 weeks!)
i am a huge huge strictly fan too! live for it. havent seen the line up, gonna check it out now & see if i actually know anyone Grin

good morning everyone! x

mermaidspurse · 08/09/2010 11:18

thermal shiftGrin rushes off to google.
wow at 15lbs thats why you can fit in those jeans missy.x

bluesatinsash · 08/09/2010 13:00

louey - really hope you have a good appoint. this avvo. I think having a good appoint. can have a placebo type effect in itself as you come out feeling listenend to and bouyed up Smile. I forgot Coast had website - aaargh too-tempting-to-avoid and I do have a wedding next month... Love your dress btw.

QA - how was your wine last night?

cupcake - my weight goes on bum/thighs too and I try to walk as much as a I can. My arms are lean hoofing both boys around Smile. Jude is definately getting some gold top mummy milk there Smile. Did you see the thread devoted to best Friends moments? mine still has to be chandler to ross (when he was deciding whether to stay with Julie or go with Rachel) "oh no the fifties won't fit in my wallet and my diamond shoes are too tight" Grin Grin. also up there is when chandler goes to Richard's to hunt Monica and knows she has been there as there is a glass of whiskey on a coaster

I digress..

Thanks for all your concern re: Ben's rash. Its still there but fading and he's just needing a wee extra cuddle here and there during the night which I think its tied up to his teeth. BTW have any of you got sophie le giraffe? They were talking nae raving about her on my other thread and I got her today. She is apparently fabulous for teething babies as they love the rubber and squeek..

Time's up!

4everhopeful · 09/09/2010 00:12

Quick one before i go to sleep, i have mastitis... Confused its very painful, went docs and got antibios today, been expressing again and using cabbage leaves!

My poor boob is so hot that after a few mins the cabbage feels cooked! Shock I have one of those fab vicks thermometers and had a fever last night and my boob temp was 39d... Shock All v horrid.. Envy Thats a sick face..! Lil biscuit was a bit sicky yesterday, and runs today, wondered if related? Could be teething though Hmm none the less am gonna stick to ff mainly and the good boob for booby snacks only til better, and chuck the expressed milk from the bad one.. Shes been faffing with her bottles lately as think shes been a bit spoilt for boobys!

cupcakefairy · 09/09/2010 03:45

Ouch 4ever you poor thing :( one of my nct friends had it twice in beginning & abs cleared it up v quickly so hope yours will too. Grin at cooking cabbage on your boob though! hope s feels better soon too..

mermaid lol at googling thermal shift, i hope that doc did! Grin

blue thanks will look for a sophie- we bought a tommee tippee teether but he cant really get it in his mouth properly.

we went out to friends for dinner last night & left babycake with a sitter for 1st time (didnt manage it for book group in the end last wk) was a success & felt good to be out with just dh.

right, back to bed Confused

loueytbg · 09/09/2010 09:44

Poor 4ever mastitis is rotten - never had it but lots of my mummy friends have. Hope it clears up very quickly.

cupcake well done for leaving baby J and I'm glad you had a good night out. Are you planning the next one yet Grin Blimey at J being 15lbs already. I had 2 scrawny boys (still do) and they weren't even 20lbs by 1yr. Very good exercise pushing heavy babies up a hill Grin

blue glad Ben is on the mend, I'm sure the sleeping will get back to normal soon. Have never heard of the giraffe but will file that one away in case I need it. We never did find an ideal teether.

So the appointment went ok - saw a fertility nurse which is apparently how they do things at this hospital (not been there before). She did however say at the start that they advocated DTD when you felt like it and not trying to time it too much Hmm. FFS how on earth do they think you get PG if you have 2 small children. Its not like we are at it like rabbits....

Anyway, I digress. She was v organised and sent me off to get CD3 bloods done (fortunately was on CD3 so that was handy). They want me to have another HSG in case my tubes got blocked after the ERPCs so that will be happening at the end of the month. I have to go back to do bloods at CD18 (7DPO) to see if I've ovulated and get DH's sperm analysis faxed over (hopefully will mean he hasn't got to do it again). Then have follow up appt at the start of Nov. The problem is that she said they would probably put me on clomid and I explained that DH didn't want me to go on it as we had twins first time round. They don't monitor you which I was hoping they would - if they scanned me at the right point they would be able to see how many follicles there were and whether 1 or 2 eggs were going to be released. Then we could decide whether or not to go for it that cycle. I am hoping that the tests all show up clear and we just keep trying naturally. She also said we wouldn't get IVF on the NHS because we already had children which I knew anyway.

Rather scary stats they had on the board in the clinic which made me quite Angry. That week, 7 patients hadn't turned up for their appt on Monday and the same number on Tuesday - the total for the year was 1200 Shock. Its no wonder the waiting lists are not great.

Sorry for long-me post but thought I would keep you all posted. Hope you are all ok - its been quite quiet on here...

4everhopeful · 09/09/2010 12:33

Louey you never know it could still all happen on its own without the need for the clomid? Biscuit Handy you were on Cd 3! I hate that so many health 'professionals' think we all stepped out of a text book, or dont even kno half of what we have discovered and researched on our long journeys, specially as they are the ones on silly amounts of money! Angry Really hope it all works out well for you hon.. Today must of felt like a good step in the right direction at least..

Hello lovely Cupcake what were you doing up at 3am? Hope your young mans out misbehaving! Grin Cant believe he is 15lb! Thats some real gold top! Grin Yay to the skinny jeans! Im some lbs to go still! I love that me you and Lbm are sharing all our milestones! Grin

Lbm was right with you, my moses is in her room full of tiny newborn and 0-3 clothes ready for the loft, and next time around! Grin

Talking of next time, in early hours of yesterday morning when i had a temp of 38 i paniced in case i was preg, cos last Af was 5 days early, bright red with no tail off, only lasted 2 days, and as came immediately after dtd, wondered if just caused by that rather than actual af? Anyway poas for first time in nearly a year and got a bfn! Very very wierd to be relieved.. Hmm Also strange to do as yesterday would of been the last lost angels 1st birthday..

Im sitting here expressing, feel like a cow in a dairy farm, think ducts are unblocking as have about 4oz and leaked all over the bed! Shock Ugh! Think abs hopefully kicking in? Not quite as sore..

Had a thought for Neeko if your still having bottle battles? As S was messing with her ff lately, she fed like a dream this morning laying in her bf position, as normally bf on our sides in bed. I prefer to sit her up but i swear she thought we were bf! Anyway, you may well of tried it but thought id mention! Grin

Right enough of this pumping malarky, gonna lay down with my sleeping beauty and some cabbage leaves! Grin

4everhopeful · 09/09/2010 13:23

Cupcake hope your young mans not misbehaving! DOH! Far too young to be out misbehaving! Grin

cupcakefairy · 09/09/2010 18:44

4Ever he's waking a fair bit again so i am a bit crosseyed atm! think its teething pain as we can see one pushing up poor little man.

how weird, i have just got 2nd af on day 22 which has well thrown me, my cycles used to be 32 days & was expecting longer for first post birth one Hmm but is also a bright bright red (tmi sorry) maybe that's normal. must have been so weird getting that bfn. definitely no chance of being pg here Grin

louey glad app was positive but i agree Hmm to dtd when u feel like it. if they knew the military operations some of us went through to get pregnant..! really hope it happens naturally for you. i assume it did for your lost lo?

moon was it last w/e you were visiting hotel? sorry cant remember but if so hope it was lovely & do we have a date??

QuestionsAgain · 09/09/2010 20:04

Hi!

Had a very busy day and am totally wiped out tonight.

LBM hope your DD has a lovely birthday tomorrow, lovely that you and 4ever have also been enjoying those first laughs. It's so annoying when you are just too late with the video camera though!

Louey Shame the dress didn't fit, at least it gives you an excuse to order another one Grin I am pleased that the appointment went reasonably well, even if her advice was a Hmm at times. Great that the CD was ideal for starting testing straight away. Like you, I am always Angry when I see the number of missed appointments at the doctors when there are so many people desperate to see someone.

cupcake Glad you enjoyed your night out, it is good to have some time on your own with DH from time to time. Your Ds is obviously doing well, bet he has those lovely chunky legs that babies get! Grin

mermaid I wasn't sure what the thermal shift was either Blush but then thought it must be the change after ovulation that I am temping for? Double Blush Hope you are ok.

Blue love that site you linked to, have bookmarked it! Sophie looks great. So pleased Ben is well now, you probably need the extra cuddles with him as much as he needs them at the mo, when you have been worried about them, you just want to be close to them.

4ever Mastitis, ouch Sad I haven't had it but friends who have have said it is really painful. Hope the anti biotics work quickly for you.

Wow, this post has taken ages, just watched Eastenders at the same time and kept being distracted, very dramatic. Shock

Didn't get to test the wine/temp effect as had no wine in, will have to wait until the weekend now.

I had a positive OPK today (CD13) and a lighter one last night. At least i know my cycle is pretty standard and obvious, not that I can do anything about it, but will help me when I can hopefully. Smile

cupcakefairy · 10/09/2010 07:49

Blue sorry i forgot to reply to you! i didnt see that thread but i have way too many favourite moments! i especially love jen anistons comic timing though she is just brilliant, esp the ep when julie first comes into it 'and the chicken pooped in her lap!' and the 'you hang up' 'no you' moment :) i really love loads of chandler moments too though, oh & phoebe finding out santa isnt real Grin see, too many!

Qa yes my ds does have the chubbiest thighs! with many a dimple :) glad your body is doing what its meant to but frustrating for you not to be able to act on it :(

where are vjay and neeko? have they slimmed to such proportions that we cant even see them? Grin
and mls did u see the bb special of 8 out of 10 cats? brilliant. sabs is ramadan over today? just in time for the ultimate final, yay!

SabsFabulous · 10/09/2010 08:10

Morning cupcake. Smile

Just a quick post from me. As cupcake wrote, yesterday was the last day of ramadan, and the last fast and today is Eid, which is muslim's equivalent to christmas and involves a lot of eating, visiting relatives and the kids getting presents! We have two eids in a year and as we follow a lunar cycle, it comes 10 days every year. Saara had her first other eid, but this is her first ramadan eid.

This eid last year I was heavily pregnant and no clothes fitted me so I was pretty fed up. What a difference a year makes. Well many of my clothes still don't fit Grin but I have my beautiful Saara with me now Smile She's going to be wearing a pink indian outfit today, so very traditional which is rare for her.

As usual, apologies for the lack of personals, promise to be back properly next week.

P.s sooo excited (and nervous) about our meet up next week!

VJay · 10/09/2010 11:19

I have been lurking, just been busy.

sabs I remember you last Eid when you were so heavily pregnant, can't believe that was a year ago Shock I love hearing all about your traditions Smile

4ever really hope the mastitis is clearing up, was laughing at the cooked cabbage, you poor love Grin

louey that was good timing with your appointment, really hoping you get the help you need.

qa I was watching EE last night too and loved it, so dramatic.

msl what did you think of Enders last night?

blue and cupcake I have loads of favourite friends moments too, and still watch the repeats when there is nothing else on. Life wouldn't be the same without a bit of friends on the telly Smile

Well I lost 2lbs this week, at last a loss!! Grin neeko lost 1/2 lb, so we have now both lost half a stone GrinGrinGrin

Right back to the revision...

OP posts:
4everhopeful · 10/09/2010 11:26

Happy Eid Sabs! Enjoy all the yummy food! Grin Im also v excited, and a little bit nervous(!) at our meet up!

Big echoing helloooo to our mia emmsys, specially mermaid monkey moon vjay and neeko and mls too!

Qa good that your cycle is regulated, must be frustrating things are on hold though.. Enders was so dramatic wasnt it? Shock

Cupcake talking telly gutted i missed the BB 8 out of 10 cats, loved come dine with me though! Want Brian or Nicky to win tonight, cant believe there will be no more BB! Sad Re Friends you and Blue will surely remember the one where Joey says hes over Rachel as he walked in on her using her breast pump! Quite poignant for me at the mo! Hmm Finally talking telly cant believe someone i know is on Strictly - Goldie! Grin Must confess to being a bit of a raver back in the day, even made a few records and did sound engineering! Shock Knew Goldie pretty well from 'the scene' and went to his club night every sunday! Will be very funny watching him waltzing and doing the cha cha cha! Grin

4everhopeful · 10/09/2010 11:34

X post - hello Vjay! Well done on the weight loss sweetie! X

cupcakefairy · 10/09/2010 18:37

4Ever get us tickets!! ive applied for them every yr & never get them, im willing to take advantage of your connections ;) Grin seriously though thats really cool you know him!
yeah brian to win tonight deffo, i think he actually is my fave housemate ever. u should try to watch 8 out of 10 cats on catchup was hilarious, esp part about the makosi jacuzzi incident
Love the breastpump ref, there are so many baby related quotes in friends. when i was massively overdue my bf kept texting me quotes from when rachel is overdue 'just think of me as a ketchup bottle, sometimes u have to bang on the end to get something to come out' Grin

vjay yay another friends fan. i know, i'll feel lost once it leaves c4/e4 next yr :(

been shopping today & jude got called 'she' twice even though he was wearing blue trousers & a top with cars on it! Angry

happy weekend all X

QuestionsAgain · 10/09/2010 18:44

Vjay Well done on the weight loss, half a stone is really good, great that you and neeko can motivate each other.

sabs Hope you are enjoying your Eid celebrations, I also love hearing about the customs and traditions that you follow and glad that you share them on here. Bet Saara looks gorgeous in her outfit Smile

cupcake With dimples as well?! Envy You see we love chubby, dimpled legs on a baby, yet on adults it is just called cellulite Confused We should embrace the dimples, even as adults Grin

4ever Bet you've got a story or two from your raving days. Wink What records did you make, are you a singer or was it more producing them? What sort of music are you in to now? Hope you are feeling better today and the anti biotics have started to work?

4ever and cupcake it is really frustrating and I seem to be getting more frustrated by the day, feeling really broody at the moment and finding it really hard to not be able to ttc and seem to be thinking about the MC a lot at the moment.

How did/do you all manage not to keep dwelling on the what would have been? Any tips gratefully received. Smile My DH tries to understand, but I think he doesn't get why I still think about where I would have been at this stage and the EDD. Last week was more difficult as work was really tough and I couldn't help thinking I would be finishing soon for ML if I hadn't had the MC Sad

MummyLovesSadie · 10/09/2010 22:06

Hello lovelies, where has everyone gone? It's been very quiet. I'm just watching Ultimate bb, it's quite sad it's all going to end but THANK GOD I'm going to get my evenings back after tonight! Grin

QA it's so difficult to not dwell on what might have been, I still do even though I'm fortunate enough to be pregnant now. The only thing that has got me though each miscarriage & subsequent fallout is ttc again until I was finally successful.

Cupcake my dd used to get called 'he' all the time, even when she was in pink - I think the lack of any proper hair until she was 2 didn't do her any favours! On the subject of af, the blood should actually be bright red but for most of us it hardly ever is. Red blood is new healthy blood & brown is old stagnant blood. The af I had right after my 1st accu session was bright red & my acupuncturist was very pleased with me!

4ever I had mastitis two times in a row on the same side so I've literally felt your pain! As for your record making days - are there any videos of you on You Tube??! Grin

Vjay Well done on the weight loss. I found 'Enders quite harrowing last night & wanted to yell "Get the baby out"! I thought tonight's was all a bit silly though. Is Ronnie really 5 months pregnant or was she just saying it? If she is then where is her bump??

Sabs happy Eid, I'm sure by now your sides are about to burst with all the food you have eaten today! Looking forward to seeing the pics on FB.

Louey I'm sure you already know but there is loads of evidence of woman who get pregnant naturally after they begin seeing fertility specialists. I think it's because you relax a bit & know that it's all being taken care of. As for not timing the bd'ing, it's all well & good it you are normally at it three times a week but for the rest of us normal people, we need all the help we can get! Grin

Blue loved that link to the giraffe but what I loved even more (in fact it made my day!) was that the website does a new version of the Family Tree House! Grin I had one in the 70's & my Mum & Dad have kept it & dd plays with it whenever we visit. Ahhhhh them were the days!

Neeko sends her love to everyone & says she'll be posting again in a couple of days. She has also lost half a stone - well done!

Talking of weight, I'm now 1lb off a 2st weight gain & with four weeks to go I'm happy with that. Hopefully I won't put much more weight (if any) on & even more hopefully I'll be two weeks early! Grin

4everhopeful · 11/09/2010 00:53

Good to see you mls! Wowsers to 4wks! Shock I was shouting at enders last night too, but v sad at end of BB tonight! I cried! Yay to Brian though!

In answer to you and Qa i just produced some rave stuff, never sung(!) I was the only girl on my sound engineering course! Yep im on you tube too Blush google eternal bass.. No actual videos though thank god! Cant believe im exposing myself Blush please remember i was an 18/19 yr old, and this was in the early nineties!

Cupcake how rude some people are! Your Jude is a proper little man! Not in as much touch with Goldie now so doubtful bout the tix im afraid! Yay they repeated 8 out of 10 cats! Ha ha makosi! Shes unreal! Hmm Btw, Shock never knew friends was leaving c4! Sad

Qa really feel for you, there are no tips.. I still mark all my edds, and subsequently should of been birthdays, by lighting a special candle with 4 angels on it. Did so this weds in fact.. Think its healthy to remember.. Doubly hard for you that you are having to delay ttc again, as mls said, the obsessing of doing so in someways actually helps the whole healing process for many of us.. Big hug to you..

Thanks for sympathies about my mastitis Confused think the antibios def working, couldnt even touch my left boob before and its no longer burning hot thankfully.. Tomorrow it should be my dads birthday so me dh and dd are taking my mum for a chinese, we did the same last year and little did i know but we conceived Summer that very same day! Grin Mls i also remember e mailing you after one of your mc, what a difference a year makes eh? Smile

VJay · 11/09/2010 09:39

cupcake friends is leaving C4/E4 next year????Shock, I did not know this!!!
One of my fav moments at Monica and Chandlers wedding, when Rachel, Pheobe and Rachel are doing the pg test, and Pheope lies, and Rachel says, 'well that's a risky little game', I laugh and goose bumps at the same time. I'm going to miss it.

mls I can't believe Ronnie is 5 months pg either, I was looking for a bump after she said that. Also was she with Jack back in April?

4ever our resident raver Grin Have a lovely chinese with your dh dd and mum, and had a Smile at htis time last year you conceived little Summer Smile

Big weekend waves to everyone, I'm doing a mammoth clean up today the inlaws are up on Monday, am really looking forward to seeing them, and they can't wait to see the boys Smile

barbie when are you back?

we're taking babycake swimming for first time today!

4everhopeful · 11/09/2010 13:43

cupcake what is this shared existence we live!?! We are taking biscuit swimming for the first time tomorrow! Shock Grin

Also Shock you got your bfp the day we conceived! Shock Maybe they are destined to marry? Grin (when they are 40 and Dh lets her have a boyfriend that is! Grin )
