Right caught up Smile

4ever Summer would wake up if she needed a feed, she can just go longer between feeds now which is great Smile Cjay is doing really well at school so far, I even took him out for a cake after school today and a play at the park because he is doing so well Smile

louey glad your dizziness is getting better. Mine tends to happen when I move my head suddenly, and I dyed my hair earlier so had my head upside-down over the bath, and now I'm feeling dizzy and sick, have been like it for nearly 2 hours now!

cupcake your carrot cake sounds yum, I love carrot cake Smile

lbm surly you're not back at work already Shock, where has the time gone?????

monkey when you go back to work and hear the inevitable just think of all of us holding your hands, we are all here for you and know how tough it's going to be. Stay strong. You are one of the stongest ladies I know Smile

Ajay is waving Smile, I just put him down in his cot and he was sucking his thumb and waving with the other hand when I said na-night Smile

I have just been researching labyrinthitis and it can follow on from colds and laryngitis (sp?), well I did have a cold 3 weeks ago and lost my voice for 2 weeks and I thought it was laryngitis, so I think I've now got labyrinthitis. Do I need to see a doc? I'm not that bad with it and it should clear up in 2-3 weeks. Drlouey what should I do?

OP posts:
BlueMoon1981 · 25/08/2010 20:44

vjay thats just not on, if they advertise at that price i thought they had to give it to you, its their fault not yours.

monkey i agree with you, if i knew that in say 2 years time i would have a baby, then i wouldnt worry, its the not knowing i cant handle, and worrying whether i will ever be able to carry a baby full term.

louey well done on operation seduction Wink

4ever you sound so happy, its lovely to hear

thanks everyone for saying lovely things again Blush i want to believe it all so much, some days i can have faith, others i feel like giving up, such is the rollercoaster of life i guess. i really appreciate you believing in me and for being generally so lovely :)

today i am a bit down, i sit near a lady who is now 5 months pregnant (what is it with all these pregnant ladies in my office, this is no.4) and ALL afternoon she talked baby names with her colleagues, i was :( Angry Envy and at one point grabbed my car keys and sat in the car for 10 mins to compose myself. shes not even the motherly type and this is her second

i am so proud to be part of this thread, you girls have support by the bucket load, its just the best place to be when you feel crap.

MummyLovesSadie · 25/08/2010 22:31

Right, an attempt to catch up.....

Moon we've all been in the situation where we are surrounded by pregnant people when we are desperately longing to get pregnant ourselves - it's shit. Can totally relate to you just wanting to know when it will happen. If only you knew that then you'd be able to relax but it's the not knowing that totally messes with your head.

Louey your chart is looking like you might be about to have a spike. Symptom spotting here we come! Have you tried drinking grapefruit juice? I drank it like a fish on the month I conceived & the month before, it definitely helped the cm become more sperm friendly.

Monkey you are a very strong woman, sometimes though it would be nice not to have to be strong & for things to be going your way huh? I'm sure the thought of your colleague having her baby is much worse than it'll be when it actually happens. It's difficult but try & mentally detach yourself from her situation. I'm doing fine thanks for asking. I'm starting to get quite a bit of pelvic pain & rib-ache but I'm not going to complain about it. I can't believe you have to name your baby immediately over there. It's a good way of forcing you to be organised before the birth though. We are giving the name thing a bit of a rest now as it was totally making my head spin.

LBM totally gorge pics of your little dd2! She looks so dainty! Hopefully I'll get to see her in the flesh soon. Smile

Mermaid I can't believe your doctor did that to you. I'm imagining him as some doddery old man? BTW after seeing that pic of yours on fb I went out & bought a treacle tart - it was horrible & I have tart envy! Grin

Barbie I guess you are over here now - I bet you are glad you gave the maxi-dresses a miss!

4ever glad you have found the paragraph key Grin! I agree with the others, your dd would wake up if she were hungry. It's only in the first couple of weeks that you need to wake them every four hours for a feed otherwise they can get dehydrated.

Neeko did you manage to get dd2 to nap in her cot today? Brilliant news about your work. Maybe by the time you eventually have to go back full-time your dh will have got out of his time-sapping job & will have something he enjoys more & that will allow you to be a sahm?

Blue yes Samcam has named named her dd (which I'm sure you know by now), Florence is fine but what's with the freaky second middle name? It sounds like dandelion!! Grin

Iggy I'm really into the hypno book. You did the classes too didn't you? Did your dh go with you? Did he help you go into your subconscious states? The reason I'm asking is because there is no way I'd be able to take it seriously if my dh tried to 'talk me under' so I'm seriously considering taking a sleep mask & ear-plugs so that I can get into my own little world & cut everyone else including dh out!! Grin

Well I've had a pretty-much quintessential day today. Went shopping with dd this morning & got some bargains for her from Gap, lunch at a Starbucks... "Mummy you wait here for your hot chocolate & I'll sit at that table over there" - when did she get so grown up?? Followed by a snooze together in my bed & then Toy Story 3 at the flicks with her sitting on my ever decreasing lap, oh how times are going to change in a few short weeks! Grin

BlueMoon1981 · 25/08/2010 22:57

mls your day sounds perfect, kinda how i would imagine myself being with a dd :)

MummyLovesSadie · 25/08/2010 23:12

It was Moon but believe me, days like that are rare. Most days involve at least one tantrum, quite a few cross words, me trying to juggle cooking dinner along with cajoling dd to eat something whilst being on all fours picking up the peas she has dropped or spat out! Grin

I have one more thing to say - John McCruick in his underpants... BBBLLLLEEEUUUGGHHHHHHH!

littlebellsmum · 25/08/2010 23:19

Turn it off, MLS no one needs to see that!
Your day does sound perfect - remember it, as in a few weeks... I'm lucky if I can get the washing in at the mo.
Thanks for the loan of the cot - it worked really well, JoJo slept fine in it - I did also take my carry cot mattress as I was concerened that the matress might be a bit thin for a tent and it was really compfy with two mattresses.

Moon I'm with the others - it will happen and you will be an even better mum for being made to wait.

cupcakefairy · 26/08/2010 05:09

Hi ladies, we didnt head camping last night as its just deluge here in wales. leaving in the morning but am up feeding babycake now & can hear it still pouring :( so depressing. this is dhs first time off since pat leave & was so looking forward to our lovely hol.

mls yay to making the cake. i do it in a square tin which works great but sure its versatile enough for loaf tin. also i only use about 100g of honey as found 150 made it way too honey-y first time.
loving bb. felt so sorry for josie when nadia said all that stuff about john james though, wasnt v fair as shes only seen it on tv.

vjay rubbish about car seat, guess it was too good to be true!

4ever i agree with lbm that christening will be lovely celebration of s & marking all youve been through :)

right time for a nappy change Confused

Neeko · 26/08/2010 09:12

Hi chatty ladies. I'm struggling to keep up. Had a three and half hour wakening on Tuesday night but made up for it last night with 8.5 hours UNINTERRUPTED sleep. My body thinks I've snuck another b'day in Grin

Cupcake sorry to hear the hol has been cancelled. Hope you have a happy hol at home Sun is splitting the sky here. Come and camp in Scotland.

Louey Fingers crossed that you've hit the jackpot. Labrynthitis (sp) sounds awful. Hope it's completely gone soon. V. impressed by the running to work.

Mermaid Angry at your docs for the dosing mistake but does sound like Mermaid-therapy is working. Slow and steady my lovely.

Moon Know it's really hard but one day you'll be the pg lady at work discussing names. Hugs.

LBM Shock at return to work in October. Could you not try still feeding nights and mornings for a wee while since you're enjoying it so much? I'll have been off 9.5months by the time I go back. No matter how long we have, it's never long enough is it?

MLS Lovely to hear you getting organised. Bet you keep going into the baby's room just for a look. The day out with DD sounded perfect.

Monkey Still hoping this is your month. I was Smile reading your post as you just sound so much stronger and optimistic than before. Never forget to look back and see how far you've come on wobbling days. not many could cope with what you've endured so brilliantly.

Blue I'm desperate to see a pic of B's fangs. keep that camera poised.

Vjay Glad Cjay is nice and settled. M has come out of nursery the past two days saying she had a great day so that's a big phew of relief.

Barbie Hope you're having a fab time and your mum has sent you to bed while she gives Dolly a talking to! (Although she's probably able to run away by now!Grin)

M got sent to bed last night for trying to ruin my carpet. I left H lying on the floor while I nipped to the kitchen and she was doing her usual thumpy leg thing. When i came back M had put her strawberries under H's feet to see how much mess she'd make! i was Angry at the time but can Grin about it now. H would be excellent at making wine!

Love to everyone else. Best go and attempt some housework since I have the energy today.

iggypiggy · 26/08/2010 11:31

hi all - apols for absence - am finding there is no time for anything except little piglet!

MLS - i did a course and my DH came with me - he really enjoyed it after starting off very very skeptical - you kind of have to go with it! Having said that, he didn't talk me under in labour - i kind of did the breathing and visualising myself and it worked well for me.

Also - i have a question about expressing milk... I am bf the piglet at the mo and is going well - she will be 5 weeks on sunday... so am thinking that I should try to express and try bottle next week - if am going to at all? So - when did other people try this? how successful? what pump and what bottles would you recommend? and do you just express after the morning feed?

sorry for all the questions... am clueless and unsure about this expressing business!

hope you all ok - many apols for being rubbish xx

MummyLovesSadie · 26/08/2010 13:05

Iggy I used to express between feeds, or if dd had only taken a feed from one side I'd express from the other side straight after. It shouldn't affect your milk supply detrimentally as the more you express, the more milk you should start to produce. I was fortunate in that dd took to the first bottle I tried which was a Tommee Tippee closer to nature. I've bought the Medala Swing pump this time as I've heard nothing but good things said about it. Cupcake how are you getting on with yours? I wasn't that good at getting lots of milk out last time which I've subsequently found out is probably because I lost a lot of blood during labour. This time however I'm going to hospital armed with Floradix & the bf'ing is going to work if it kills me!

4everhopeful · 26/08/2010 13:13

Hello all, thanks for advice re biscuits feeds, she does have alot of booby, so as you say, if she wanted it, Id know about it! Cant believe I got it wrong yesterday, she was 13 wks then not today Blush and is officially 3months today!!! Shock

Iggy! Cant believe lil piglet is 5wks already! As for expressing I did when S wasnt latching on to begin with, used Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottles and electric pump, think there maybe a deal in mothercare at the mo? Good luck!

Cupcake sorry to hear about the delay, but if you are in a a caravan I often think its really lovely and cosy to hear the rain beating down on the roof, and so long as you have your wellys and a good raincover for the pram, theres nothing nicer than coming in from a walk in the rain and wrapping in a big towel, drying off and warming up with a hot choc! Grin Anyway, its the company you will be enjoying, Im sure you'll make the most of it, be great to have some family time just the 3 of you! Grin

Neeko YAY to sleep! Lil H is turnig a corner for you! Prob just in time for your return to work! That has come round so fast!

MLS I agree your day sounds lovely, and triple UGGGGHHHHHH to John Mc in his pants

Damn mothercare Vjay thats pants Angry Glad DS1 is getting on so well, bless his reward of cake!

LBM cant believe you are back to work so soon as well! Shock Showed DH Jo Jo in her ear protectors last night, he wants some to take biscuit to football Hmm Not for a good few months yet!!!

Moon and Monkey too, I so hear you re pregnant women, its just so hard. I had 3 at work and a bf, all around my last due date, in fact I had 2 due dates that month, an anniversay, and my dads birthday (last sept) but thats when I concieved biscuit Grin. It was just unbearable on the lead up though and my manager told me to take the day off on one girl with exact due dates last day Sad I know th only thing that will ease it is you being pregnant again, so I will continue to shake pom poms, through babydust and pray pray pray that such deserved ladies get their wish very very very soon.. Big HUGS, stay strong, an keep venting, we are here to hug and love and support you lovely ladies x x x x x

Right must dash, am off to pick up resized wedding ring, relented that it had to be done, been horrid not having it! Then food shop, bikini wax, and pizza hut - YUM!

Biscuit has a 1st birthday party to go tomorrow, (my bf with same due date). Who would of thought, as I sat there last year, with a feigned, tight lipped smile, making the appropriate noises as I met her DD for the first time, and kept thinking 'this should be me', that 1 year on, I would have my little miracle? Take heart lovelys... x x x x x

4everhopeful · 26/08/2010 13:16

x post - Grin

Interesting about the blood loss, i lost a pint and a half, and was lucky to get 2oz when I initially expressed.. Hmm I think Im losing about an oz on the bedsheets now though! UGH! Cant beleive how much is coming out now! Shock Right gotta go!!!!!!

iggypiggy · 26/08/2010 13:29

thanks v much girls - might wander down to mothercare now xxx

littlebellsmum · 26/08/2010 14:09

MLS RE bfding - don't put too much pressure on yourself . With ds, I was like you detremined to make it work and did everything, expressed all the time, fed on demand etc. In fact I did everything except what I should have done which was to relax and I ended up with less milk than with DD1.
With dd2, I did eventually get a pump but could hardly get much milk out and anyway, I'm of a view that formula isn't that bad and if I'm going to attach a pump to me, I'd rather add a baby! So, i don't express but am much more chilled over the whole thing and 14 weeks later, we are still feeding her and ny favourite sound in the world is of her gulping milk down!

Having said that, this is just my experience - I know lots of you on here have been expressing and it works for you, but just saying that there is another way ( I found expressing really frustrating - all that sterlilzing for 1 or 2 ozs of milk!)

cupcake Hope you aren#'t reading this or if you are, are on holiday!

cupcakefairy · 26/08/2010 16:56

Hi ladies, posting from the beach drinking hot choc while granny cuddles j (we're with ILs) in his cute hooded jacket with ears Grin no rain so far!

iggy good to see you! doing things with piglet will get faster & ul have a bit more time. i have medela swing &def recommend. i have been told to express 5 mins after each feed so not to overstimulate supply. i also express more at about 10pm as j sleeps through that feed now & im v engorged come 4am otherwise! tommee tippee closer to nature bottles here too, theyre lovely.

4Ever how lush to think just how far youve come in a yr.

right off to take more endless pics of my babybear :) will try to keep away Wink

Knock knock can I come back know its been a long time but I have been lurking all this time. Things been strange here hence silence had a bereavement that was hard to deal with so felt I had to step away from ttc and to focus on my personal well being. Back on the small panters bench if there is room on there for me have missed you all. Have seen all the pictures of your beautiful babies you are all truely blessed x

welcome back bq there is of course a bit of bench with your name on it next to me :) sorry to hear of your bereavement, hope you and your dh are ok, remember we are here to help you if we can.

VJay · 26/08/2010 21:20

evening Smile

Hi bq we've saved you your space as we knew you'd be back Smile. Sorry to hear you've had a bereavement.

iggy I used an avent hand pump that went with my bottles, but I struggled to get Ajay to take the bottle. Hope it works out for you Smile

I did go to the docs today and I have got labyrinthitis! The doctor said it could last a few weeks. It's not too bad, just feels like I'm on a boat, or like louey a bit drunk but without the fun Grin

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 26/08/2010 22:45

BQ there will always be a place here for you, welcome back. Sorry to hear you are going through rough times.

Vjay I want some of that labyrinthitis, I've not been drunk for so long! Grin How strange that two of you should have something that none of us has ever heard of!

Cupcake glad you managed to get away, I take it you are not in a tent now? Are you able to watch BB? I'm watching it now but I have to admit I'm not actually into it & I'm finding them all a tad irritating. Did you hear that Josie walked out today? Shock

LBM I hear ya re bf'ing. I know I need to relax about it but I'm such a control freak & I refuse to believe that I can't make it work properly this time. I did everything I could possibly have done with dd, I went to bf'ing clinics, took her to the hv but after four weeks of exclusively bf'ing her, she was such a scrawny skinny unsettled thing who was not putting any weight on I just had to supplement with formula. It's supposed to be the most natural thing in the world yet for some people (no matter how desperate they are to want to be able to do it) it is far from easy.

4ever what happened with your ring? Did you have a lot of swelling in your hands? I know some people suffer terribly with water retention.

Right gtg, time to lie down. Been doing a painting for the last couple of hours & my ribs are killing me.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/08/2010 22:50

Forgot to say, Neeko rofl at your dd1's strawberry antics - that is an absolute classic! Also every time you mention dd2's thumpy legs it makes me think of Thumper from Bambi! Grin

4everhopeful · 26/08/2010 23:31

Mls yep i had quite serious post natal odema (sp?) To add to long list of ailments! Severe swelling in legs, feet, hands and face! My ring was always a wee bit small, dh and i got a set we brought there and then, over the years it was a bit tight and all the pregnancys took their toll! Iv lost lots of weight now, just a bit of a tum which is slowly goin down but relented to resize ring as the eternity dh got for my birthday fits lovely so wanted them to match.. Grin Hope your resting now, cant believe Josie walked out of bb, felt really sorry for her, sad for chantelle too..

Welcome back Bq! Grin So lovely to have you back, sorry to hear about the bereavement.. You are surely due some good news soon so ill be hoping your stay on the small pant bench is short lived and you can warm up the medium bench ready for the imminent much overdue crop of new bfps! Grin

VJay · 27/08/2010 12:09

Hi, neeko I too PMSL at your dd's and the strawberries, your dd1 could be a mad scientist you know, that was a clever experiment Grin

mls lol at you wanting labyrinthitis, it's ok until the feeling sick bit Envy, that is a sick face!

No weight loss for me, but no gain either, so am not too heartbroken Grin, neeko lost 1/2 a lb, and we are both aiming for a 1/2 stone weight loss next week Grin

Ajay has just woken, so will see yous later xx
