Oh no batteryhen that is terrible! The mw is not allowed to discuss any patient details with anyone, not even her family, let alone friends!! I would have a word with her (probably by letter coz I can't be arsed with people on the phone!)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/08/2010 17:32

battery that is bang out of order and a huge breach of confidentiality! I would think about complaining to the practice manager (you could report to the NMC or whoever is the regulating body now but depends how strongly you feel about it/whether you can be bothered!) I would be really Angry though.

knitter - 3 times a day?!! Wow. We're managing every other day which I thought was doing well...

Chocolatedays · 23/08/2010 17:46

Battery - I would be livid if this happened to me, I have a friend who works at my GP surgery... and I have assumed all would be confidential. hmmm.

hairytriangle · 23/08/2010 18:00

knitter 3 times a day?! Every day?! seriously?! You get the stamina medal!

Lol A chocolate knitter - why waste time knitting it when you could be eating it LOL. I meant, of course chocolate and knitter LOL.

Battery just adding my name to the 'I'd be bloody livid' gang. That is awful!

PinkFondantFancy · 23/08/2010 18:32

battery add me to the would be v peeved gang. Did she tell your friend you were pg or that you had mmc? Neither is excusable but spreading rumours you are pg is even worse..... I had a few awkward conversations when I went back to work as had originally been signed off with threatened miscarriage so boss had told a few people that I was pg, which was fine but then didn't tell all those people that I had in fact mc....

How did everyone else get on today? Hope all your Mondays were a piece of cake. Mmmm cake... I have been super healthy this month as trying to lose a bit of weight but succumbed to hotel chocolat this avo om nom nom

batteryhen · 23/08/2010 18:42

Hello again lovlies. She actually told people I was pregnant - she doesn't know I MC as I didn't get to the booking in as I mc early. It makes it awkward as she is someone I have known for a long time too. I will have a think, and may ask her about it. have just spoken to another friend about it and feel a bit better now...still will not let it pass though.

knitter 3 times a day???????? Respect to you lady, I could not be arsed and would end up with thrush/ urine infection or both Blush

LadyBee · 23/08/2010 20:11

Someone passed by with smelling salts so have been peeled off the floor and sat fanning myself wanly.

Twice in the evening Grin, sorry for going on about this but I am just mind boggled at a DH who manages this effort daily. I think it would give DH a heart attack, and me a uti. Still more power to you, and fingers crossed it does the trick quickly this time too Smile

Aaarggghhhh being back at work is rubbish. Busy and boring - how those two things go together I don't know, but they do. Still, am off to Paris for lunch tomorrow heheheheeh.

That will be the end of the Big Spend though. Got to be, got bank statement today. Not pretty. Not pretty at all.

owlshoes · 23/08/2010 20:14

battery I'd have a word with her directly if you feel you'd rather start with that, and if you don't get anywhere, I'd report it to her practice manager. Cos if she's done it once she's probably done it a dozen times to a bunch of other people and it's not on.

Bloody hell knitter that is outstanding Shock - DH and I have only managed it twice in one day on one occasion and I suspect this will never happen again. He's easily tired, y'know. Grin

Choccybick · 23/08/2010 20:41

Hi
Today was OK, as far as Mondays go.
Still thinking non-stop about conceiving.Had a hot flush at lunchtime and couldn´t help thinking ooh it must be the right time. Not sure how predictable my ov will be after it being the 1st cycle.
Poor DH - told him we´re having an early night and we just changed the bed. Nothing beats clean sheets Smile

3 times??!!!Blush
thought we´d been naughty with twice yesterdayBlush

Battery - I agree with the others and think you should definately say sth. If you get lost for words a note might be better.

have a nice evening everyone Wink

MamaPower · 23/08/2010 21:01

I'm with knitter on this one...twice a day minimum! but then we are apart for months on end so I guess there is an element of lust from being apart and driving us to try and create a little bean within a short window of opportunity! That's our excuse anyway Grin.

love the new name caribou

Hi Chocolate, i'm gonna feel the need to sneak off to the cupboard for a little chocolatey treat whenever I see your name!! sorry you're here but hope you feel as supported as I have from being here.

Jolls, be thinking of you tomorrow, hope it goes well.

Hugs to all who needs 'em, as usual x

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 23/08/2010 21:07

Shock 3 times?!? good effort. I don't think I'd be walking if I tried that even for a couple of days.

battery I would be livid. There is such a thing as confidentiality, and that definitely breaks it.

hugs for everyone who needs them, and some triple choc and hazelnut cookies. Mmmmm...

I am eating non-stop, I swear I am going to gain about a stone in the next couple of weeks...
Back to work today, still hate it.

Can I ask you guys for a favour? A very very good friend of mine is about to TTC for #1 again after 3 previous MC, now with a new husband. She's 32, and has a relatively good place to start with regular cycles and good quality EWCM (yes, she told me to tell you all this! lol).
Do you think we could make her a copy of the cheat sheet some time? She doesn't have much money and doesn't know much about all the ins and outs of TTC the way we obsess do it here..
Maybe it would be a good thing to have on here anyway, for anyone who is interested... who fancies helping me?

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 23/08/2010 21:08

oh, and I might feel brave enough to poke my nose in teh graduates thread, if anyone could point me in the right direction?

tigger15 · 23/08/2010 21:25

Hello everyone

Still undecided about whether I'm doing it this month or not but have got rid of most of my maternity clothes, am taking sugar free cough medecine and will get the results of my hsg at the end of next week.

Dachs I had an interesting talk with a friend last night who went through mcs and infertility for many years and she recommended booking a private appointment with a certain consultant in the hospital I'm in. Since this friend is a doctor herself I figure it's good advice. If you are in London I'll pass you the name.

Here we go again... or do we?

tigger15 · 23/08/2010 21:26

Battery if that were me I'd write to the practice. It's a breach of patient confidentiality of the highest order.

AlbaDeTamble · 23/08/2010 21:50

Come on over Ivy, we're here (if I can paste the link in properly): www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/995408-Pregnancy-post-MC-bring-your-cake-but-no-more-wine?pg=25

waves to all here, Viv and MrsPrettyG, getting very excited for you both and really really hoping to see you on t'other thread very very soon. Crossing fingers very tightly for you both

DachshundsRule · 23/08/2010 21:50

sorry i've been quiet for a couple of days guys, just going through a low patch so didn't have much to say.

tigger - i am indeed in london (well, I live in Berks but DH and I both work in London so that is where most of the medical stuff we do happens) so if there is a recommendation then i would say yay, pretty please pass me the name Grin

hope everyone is doing ok.

hairy sorry you had a BFN but it was v early so there might still be hope.

I don't think our SWI has worked this month so feeling rather low as I now have to face the fact that I haven't managed to recreate a second miracle baby and all the feelings from the mc are flooding back. Coupled with the fact that it is also really busy at work and the auditors are total morons means I'm having a really shit week.

Sorry to unload miserable crap here, but that's why I've been laying low...

tigger15 · 23/08/2010 22:01

Dachs - it is Miss Webber of St Mary's Paddington. http://www.consultantdirectory.imperial.nhs.uk/Miss-Lisa-Webber-3545829.aspx?srcPostcode=&returnUrl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.consultantdirectory.imperial.nhs.uk%2fsearch.aspx%3fp%3d1%26s%3d8603aa9b_efd7_4c67_8e26_cc63ae8d671e I'm not sure how you book private appointments through the Lindo wing but I guess if you call up they'll tell you how. My friend said that she is very caring and overtrained herself so considers all the options plus a few more. She will also tell you the best time and way to refer yourself back into the NHS.

PinkFondantFancy · 23/08/2010 22:07

Hey Ivy what goes on the cheat sheet? Sounds cool!

Sorry you're having a rubbish day Dachs, big hug.

Hehehe 3 times, good on you girl! I jumped DH at 1am today, he was confused but is quite enjoying SWI. In fact he's liking it too much - he said he hopes I don't get pg this month so that the SWI-fest can continue Hmm think I've snookered myself there!!

I bought the ER box set today. That's right, all 15 episodes and 40-something DVDs worth :-D Soooooooooooooooooo excited about it arriving! Should take my mind off the 2WW.

Which reminds me, any more of those sharkey bits lying around here still or did they all get hoovered up?? I ask because officially I am the earliest symptom spotter this thread has ever seen......I am so ridiculous!!

hairytriangle · 23/08/2010 22:12

Aw dachs lively to see you back. Sorry you are feeling down. Hard, this stuff, isn't it? Have a sneaky non mumsnetty hug from me.

Hope you feel better soon, lovely.

Freezingmyarseoff · 23/08/2010 22:22

Quick dash and run post from me

Thanks for the lovely messages, I'm feeling much more positive today about AF.

Blimey knitter based on your efforts, I'm not surprised I didn't get up-duffed this month, our efforts are rather pathetic compared to yours Blush

Battery agree with everyone else you should talk directly with practice nurse and also her manager - I'd be livid also

Dachs sorry you're having a bad day today.

Jolls will be thinking of you tomorrow

Cheepz take care of yourself, that's a lot of weight to loose so quickly.

PFF am Envy at the ER boxset - I wish I had the time to watch it, I'm too busy being a domestic goddess MNtting

waves to everyone else

barrenbrook · 24/08/2010 06:21

Hey all, sorry for prolonged absence, have been rather busy at work and DH has been off so haven't spent much time on laptop at home.

I just popped in to say jolls honey, life is so fucking cruel, i'm so sorry mate, I hope you're doing ok and that today goes alright, thinking of you and DH alot x

viv and pretty I see good news maybe on the horizon, good luck! I have my fingers crossed for you both long time ttc'ers.

This thread moves way too fast for me and has gotten so big I can't keep up Confused

Hello to newbies and big waves to everyone that remembers me

Choccybick · 24/08/2010 08:57

Good morning from Germany

Jolls we´re all thinking about you today. Bug hugs.

I think I need the big wet fish......also symptom spotting a day after SWI.Confused
I can´t put my mind on anything else right now. Its like an obsession.

Sounds pretty much normal when I read some of your comments though, so I guess I´m in really good company here.

chocolate hi from another choc fan and newbie. I also had a natural MC mid July and had several days of EWCM before AF came after 4.5 weeks so don´t worry. It sounds like its fairly normal.

x

Choccybick · 24/08/2010 08:58

I meant big hugs of course

youremindmeofthebabe · 24/08/2010 09:15

Hey all!

I am astounded by 3 times a day. I was very impressed by my day and a half between, and even that was only on days 10-17.. Well done you!

Good luck today jolls.

anyone seen prettyv and viv? god, I'm excited. Woop.

Nothing much to add today, just on the countdown to AF now, I don't feel very preg, but do feel quite emotional. Cue tears last night when DP asked me if i thought about the MC all the time[hmm. I don't know if men really get it, do they? Ho hum.

PFF I hope you enjoy the boxset, a young Noah Whyle (sp?) mmmmm.
