Welcome to our new shiny thread for February. The lattes and expressos were not quite hitting the mark so we have moved to the pub. Whether you need Diet Coke or stiff drink help yourself we have a tab going and hunky staff are very attentive.

Agreed! I am in bed with a cuppa. IKEA was fab but predictably I am totally done in. Tmrw might be fun. It will have been worth it though. Had a lovely time.
wildthingsinthenight · 02/03/2022 20:56

Sorry about your kidney pain @Akire that sounds awfulFlowers
Hi @blossomtree323 I hope you get some help from the dr for your UTI tmrw. They are miserable.

How is everyone? Another GP visit different GP never seen one more than twice there they seem through staff like nobodies business. This one said no need scan and if no temp or not being sick ye it’s probable fine! Well didn’t have temp and only minor sickness waves last time. Said it could just be kidneys feeling rough after infection. Whatever that’s supposed to mean.

Did relent on blood test “have you had one in the last year”?? Like that’s going tell her anything if it’s inflammation now. But have to wait a week to have done at hospital so that be another 10 days before any results. So just the put up with it until it’s really bad and may need Gp hospital etc same old stuff.

So frustrating @Akire I keep a eye on things (me and DD have form for UTIs and Kidney infections) and have a tub of Urine test strips from Amazon. Not too pricey. Just more medical / health related expense as always.

I've just had text from Immunology at the super duper hospital here in Newcastle. Said they hadn't forgotten about me. Bless. Hopefully I'll finally have official diagnosis of MCAS. So many weird seemingly different but interconnected symptoms.

Akire · 03/03/2022 14:26

Yes I usually have tub those and urine bottle from Amazon around. Another disability expense it does all add up. Your area sounds good for hospital care @RainbowZebraWarrior fair play.

Ugh that doesn't instill confidence does it? So exhausting having to push to get the right care all the time. You need energy for it which we don't have!

I know it’s like wait till it’s really bad again then it be least 2 day wait to see anyone.

How did you get on with your UTI troubles?

@Gilead how’s things going?

Upping my oestrogen has helped my bladder. Still not 100% ok but loads better. There is a shortage of my new HRT now though (course there isHmm) so something else to stress about!

Immunology sound on the ball with you @RainbowZebraWarrior That's great.

Checking in and hoping all ok with everyone. It's gone a bit quiet. I know we've had a couple of new posters recently. Just want to say, hope you all feel comfortable posting or asking questions.

I've had a very positive day whereby school have really gotten on board with my DDs diagnosis of EDS.

Gilead · 03/03/2022 22:32

Hello all, hope everyone is coping.
I’m still in hospital, no surprise there. Saw someone else today, drugs have been changed, hurrah. We are going to try a combination of Zomorph, Oromorph, Naproxen and Paracetamol. Should you see me floating around , just grab me and pull me back to Earth! 😀

Hydrate · 04/03/2022 22:37

I bought a Vriksasana Sacroiliac Belt, on my 7th day of wearing it. I have much less pain and can stand up/walk without my rollator now.

Akire · 04/03/2022 22:55

Hi @Hydrate that’s really positive sometimes things work and worth the investment.

OP posts:
Hydrate · 04/03/2022 23:05

I know! I decided to try it, the pain was so bad. I felt like fainting sometimes when walking, even using my collator.

Akire · 05/03/2022 12:17

How is everyone today? Managed go get my painkillers that they had to order and think my bowel meds are back in after manufacturing problems. As bottom shelf had them (very big boxes) yet snappy pharmacist said no, still problems I have to ask something else and she even got the name wrong. So that was super helpful.

OP posts:
RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/03/2022 13:07

Jeez @Akire. That sounds so bloody unhelpful.

@Hydrate pleased you're getting some really effective relief with the belt. I'm still so bloody tempted. But my suit might be ready in a month or so ao don't know...

Still bloody cold up here in the Frozen North. I cba today, so I have achieved the grand total of making a crisp sandwich and followed a Russian special squadron flight on flight radar. Go me!
