Welcome to our new shiny thread for February. The lattes and expressos were not quite hitting the mark so we have moved to the pub. Whether you need Diet Coke or stiff drink help yourself we have a tab going and hunky staff are very attentive.

I knew what it was, couldn't have been much else to explain everything going on. Yes. Thanks I think I will be having a vino tonight, if anything is an excuse, this is.

Did you get more antibiotics I hope

Akire · 22/02/2022 17:36

I did thanks you no fight and 4 more days worth then scan if it’s not cleared up.

@Daimyum gentle hugs. I knownyouve known for a while. But now is time for them to get their bloody skates on and look after you, pronto. I hope they do.

HerRoyalHappiness · 22/02/2022 19:17

@Daimyum I hope they take you a bit more seriously now and actually find ways to take care of you.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/02/2022 19:18

HerRoyalHappiness · 22/02/2022 19:20

Ouch one that's rubbish

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 22/02/2022 19:51

@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack ❤️

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/02/2022 20:07

@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack I think they should have put a cast on straight away if both ulna and radius are broken, but hopefully they know what they are doing. Take it easy, lovely Flowers

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/02/2022 20:11

A question for anyone with EDS, Fibro or Neuropathy.

Does anyone get fingernail pain? I'm at peace with my arthritis pain and EDS symptoms (to a degree) but the horrible sensitivity in my fingertips and fingernails is driving me mad. I'm struggling to type. I have to change fingers or use voice activated text. I can't use my laptop anymore either which is shit, because I do still do a little bit of consultancy work. Everything is becoming less and less possible. And I'm running out of work arounds.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/02/2022 20:14

thnaks babes. sorery fo crap typing for a while

HerRoyalHappiness · 22/02/2022 20:21

I have awful fingernail pain. I cant touch my nails because it hurts so much. I've not done my acrylics for months because of it (I do my own acrylics usually) I keep hoping it will go away.

Daimyum · 22/02/2022 20:31

I hope they do too. Thank you all. Said they'll ask the specialist to get in touch. I don't think it's the treatable type, as not relapsing at all. We'll see.

With the kidney pains you're having, they should do a scan just to check.

I don't get pain in fingernails, but can't stand anything /anybody touching nails. Can't have them long either or nail varnish. It goes through me eww

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/02/2022 20:37

That's interesting @Daimyum and @HerRoyalHappiness it does feel like a pain that goes right through you exactly like Ewww. I am a bit Princess and Pea like and have sensory issues too. Hard to know where one symptom / pain starts and ends or crosses over with other diagnoses.

Akire · 22/02/2022 20:38

I get the nails under the toe nails but just zappy nerve pain in finger tips. Have you tried a Stylus pen for using phone or pad? I used have a T shaped one when my hands were much worse so can do any random grips. Though not much good if need use laptop for work.

I have another rheumy appointment in 2 weeks to speak to the actual rheumatologist instead of just the nurses so I'll mention it then and see what he says it's related to.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/02/2022 20:40

I also agree that you should have scan on kidneys @Akire. I'm sure it's in NICE guidelines. DD had repeated UTI's and one was discovered to be a Kidney infection. GP never told us results, but a routine check with Paediatrician told us anything showing above a certain level should always prompt a scan.

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 22/02/2022 20:48

@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack just want to send you lots of love. I have the same problem with my hands and fingernails too. I hate shooting pains whenever I type, which I hope the docs can investigate. I hope you get some answers. Thanks

Had a neurology assessment yesterday at my local clinic. Had a lovely doctor who just sat and listened. They said that I need some physio and some counselling, which I agree with. I'm continuing with my physio and have an appointment tomorrow, which is good. Also waiting for another counselling assessment 🤞🏻

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 22/02/2022 20:49

@Akire hope you get some answers too re your kidneys ❤️

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/02/2022 23:46

@RainbowZebraWarrior they didnt wasnt me in a cast right now as risk of clots being fully immobile for the 12 weeks i need to heal as i cant take asprin due to being allertgic to it. they may chansge the minds next week at fractures clinic though

Hydrate · 23/02/2022 04:36

I am sorry so many are having it rough, hopefully things begin looking up soon.

I can't remember everyone's names, but reading the thread my heart goes out to everyone.

wildthingsinthenight · 23/02/2022 09:42

Morning all 💜
I am still struggling to keep up sorry. Have been very slow and tired since Saturday. Half term really wiped me out I think.
@Daimyum hope things speed up for you now you have a diagnosis Flowers
@Worrysaboutalot what a cock up with your meds. Hope it's sorted nowFlowers
@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack so sorry to hear about your break! Poor thingFlowers
@Akire sad to hear your kidney troubles are rumbling on. Fingers crossed these further antibiotics helpFlowers
@RainbowZebraWarrior I don't get nail pain but I do get shooting pains in my fingers and hands. I have my nails done regularly (gel overlay) and the only problem I have is when she forgets and twists a finger or my wrist! Flowers
Funny you should mention Princess and the Pea as that is what my DH calls me. I can never get comfortable and am really funny with sensory things.

I had my Pain Clininc appt through yesterday
It is in May and at a therapy centre just round the corner so that is positive.
Actively looking for positives this week as it is one if those weeks where I feel like I'm wading through treacle. I just want to stay in and be quiet.
❤ to all.

Morning guys had bad night with hip pain had X-ray 2 years ago (I think covid warped times) and hands but didn’t show but always seems to be 3m over winter. But shooting pains even when not moving so not sure what. Wasn’t like nerve pain, I don’t walk so not sure why hip hurt as surely far less wear and tear than someone else my age!

Started waking up headaches hope not migraine starting again with peri that’s all I need.

Wheelchair apt today bloody miles away though but one step closer having a chair that’s not broken.

Sorry about your hip pain in the night. Maybe you slept awkwardly? Hope it goes off. Good luck with your appt later. Hope you get somewhere 🤞
wildthingsinthenight · 23/02/2022 10:33

Does anyone have a phone holder? For those with hand pain. Just researching them.

Akire · 23/02/2022 10:59

I’ve got one those sticky on things that mean can hold between fingers at back. About £7 and lots of colours.
