Oh hell no. I haven't left the house alone since my legs stopped working!

DH is on late shift tomorrow so he will be taking me. No way could I get there without him.

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/11/2021 19:02

@SpookyScarySkeletons I hope your hospital appointment goes well.

I have a hospital appointment tomorrow too. Not for me, for DD. Shes having a scan to make sure her kidneys are working as they should. As she's so tiny, everything inside her is tiny too and she keeps getting UTIs. They think because her bladder can't hold much, but they're just ruling everything out. We'll be there all afternoon. So in the morning we're going to finally get her ears pierced. She's been pestering for years now. Then we're buying some bits to make a hot chocolate station for over the Christmas period.

Akire · 28/11/2021 19:23

Sounds a fair trade for an afternoon getting poked and prodded. I’ve read about hot chocolate stations on here they do look tempting! Although I think
I’d opt for baileys coffee with squirty cream instead!

@Akire I feel you on the haircuts, I got one this week (probably the activity that tipped over the edge into a pain and sickness flare Hmm ) and the next day I chopped it myself because the layers were just all wrong. Is much better now despite my shaky hands!

Barely been out of bed today and I've been very careful with what I eat, so hopefully work tomorrow will be okay. It's snowed all day here though so it might be a bit tricky to get there with my stick and wobbly legs.

Akire · 28/11/2021 19:32

I can feel chop coming on too as one side much longer than other at front Confused it’s lot money pay for something you can’t see till it’s finished then not really as they style as so much it never looks same again. I’m so limited where I go as most have steps and don’t want expense or stress getting a taxi further then can walk/roll either. Oh well I’m sure it look better in6-8 weeks when it’s longer.

Glad you are feel better for work tomorrow. Hats off to you all who still manage it

Ooooow. My ankle has just dislocated. I took a step and it crunched and popped out. Luckily DS1 isn't squeamish so he pushed it back in for me. It really hurts though.

Akire · 28/11/2021 21:08

Does it make you scream? -1 tonight where I am hope everyone is tucked up

@bicyclesaredeathtraps I nearly always have another go at my hair after the hairdressers! I try not to go much now anyway as the sink bit is so uncomfortable.

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/11/2021 21:50

@Akire I don't scream with pain, or I'd be constantly screaming! I just grit my teeth and get on with it. Grin

Akire · 28/11/2021 22:24

You are an example to us all! Hope everyone gets good nights sleep tonight good luck all

Hi all. Just found this thread.
I have EDS, spina bifida and various gastric issues from taking the dreaded Voltarol from aged 17 to 30 without stomach protection. So NSAIDS are now a no-no.
I take max Pregabalin and Tramadol with MST as necessary. Things got a bit better with a surprise hip replacement nearly 2 years ago now. A bit of a shock at 43 and done only 8 weeks after the consultation...I thought that the pain was from tendons in my knee but turns out I had no ball joint left.
The relief was instant (with regards to that part of the pain anyway) and wouldn't hesitate to have another.
Anyway, enough of my waffling. It is great to find a place with others who understand.
Wishing everyone has restful an evening as they can!

Akire · 28/11/2021 22:49

Hi @Chickmad nice to met you, it’s amazing amount of pain conditions there are out there with millions of possible combinations. Hope you find the thread helpful

Ouch @HerRoyalHappiness that sounds painful.
Nerve pain and nausea is keeping me awake tonight which is really not ideal because the only solution is enough sleep.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 28/11/2021 23:29

hello all. sorry ive been MIA, ive been ill with a uti and a chest iunfection both at once, just getting over them now. this cold weather is playing havoc with my joints and bones as well so hardly done anything or left the house in weeks now. getting ready for the christmas season now and trying to finish off shopping and then get everything wrapped!

HerRoyalHappiness · 29/11/2021 04:10

And that's me up in pain. Sad
I'm so sick of not sleeping.

ndo4000 · 29/11/2021 05:39

@HerRoyalHappiness am with you there.... why are nights so hard?

StewPots · 29/11/2021 06:12

Hello all,

Could I join this thread please? I suffer terribly with Tietzes syndrome, which caused me to give up work a year ago as my pain and hospital admissions for management just weren’t fair to anybody. I suffer badly with anxiety and depression anyway because I lost my entire career as a HCA and also had two major ops and a bereavement - all in the space of 18 months. But I’m still trying to accept I now have limitations. I just focus on doing what I can in the house instead. I have a supportive partner and family so I’m very lucky in that sense.

This morning I’m about a 6 on the pain score - that’s pretty usual for me, and I’ve got used to it so I’ll be doing the school run then resting this morning. Flowers to all of us who have this crap everyday!

HerRoyalHappiness · 29/11/2021 07:05

@ndo4000 it seems so long as well when you're led there in pain trying ti drift off. .
@StewPots welcome, we're we're friendly bunch. I had to give up work due to my disabilities too. (That and the fact the kids dad left me and he was a SAHD so I had no childcare.) My issues have just got worse and worse as the years go by.

PhilCornwall1 · 29/11/2021 07:09

I had a mega flare up of my Rheumatoid Arthritis start yesterday. I'm wishing my shoulders belonged to someone else at the moment.

About 2 hours sleep last night and codeine every 3 to 4 hours.

It's going to be a long day working today, starting with doing battle with the surgery, who haven't issued my repeat prescription for my painkillers.

HerRoyalHappiness · 29/11/2021 07:13

@PhilCornwall1 oh no! I feel for anyone who has to carry on working through the pain. It's not a nice feeling at all. I struggle enough just pottering around at home.
