I did mine today. Was going to wait until pay day next week but decided i couldn't face doing it with 3 dc when dp at work.
Was chaos and spent far far too much but hopefully got 2 weeks worth of food (we are visiting relations a couple of days).
Am now tucking into Baileys and peanuts both of which we never buy!!
They didn't have any tins of chocs though and i like to have tin of quality streets on the table

not yet but did write my list today and it depends on how brave I am as to which day I battle with the crowds!

nannyl · 20/12/2009 10:47

I have

have no intention of enetering any other shop at all until after Xmas

but then i am 'being fed' Tuesday, Xmas eve, Xmas day, boxing day and the day after!

saying that i am contributing to the food on 24 / 25 / 26 / 27 but i have all the ingrediants to make all my contributions.

i came out the supermarket at 10.30 last night... it was empty i had a choice of free checkouts to pay!

all my presents are wrapped

now i need to to get my tree up

(i seem to be working backwards this year, i am normally in the mad busy supermarket on 23rd and then again for 1 last forgotten item on xmas eve!)

Nope. Myself and DP will be going to parents so no need. Went to Asda last night to get food for the next three days and on Tuesday night we are doing a 'cook everything in the fridge' night to clear it all!

Have to say, been to Asda Friday night at about 10pm, Saturday night at 9.30pm and today at about 3.30pm (badly organised!) and it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. Friday and saturday nights it was dead and today it was busy but not packed!

Yep did mine online today...being delivered Wednesday. I am now enjoying the thought of not having to go near a shop for atleast a week or so......bliss. I couldn't face dragging two kids round Tescos - both of them arguing over who is going to push the trolley/running old ladies over/basically getting under my feet.....so I cheated and ordered it online instead.

snorkie · 20/12/2009 17:34

I did mine right through to New Year yesterday. Apart from the veggies which are largely still growing on the allotment. I had fun digging up parnips & carrots for lunch today as I had to guess where abouts under the snow they were!

Judy1234 · 20/12/2009 17:34

Was delivered today and we go away on 26th anyway. I don't set foot in shops much in December if I can possibly help it.

I've got most things and done wrapping. Will shop early tomorrow and stock up on loo roll, breakfast stuff, veggies, cheese and wine etc. Will leave salad, bread, cream until 23rd. DH will do this shop with a list.

bonkerz · 20/12/2009 18:57

i did most of it today, wasnt too bad and spent way too much. going out christmas eve to get last few bits......croissants for breakfast, fresh salad and veg and some puddings from icelands!

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 20/12/2009 19:42

Heading to Sainsburys tomorrow with my parents in tow. Tis my due date so any hope of going into labour in the middle of the shop and them offering it to me free, is prob non-existent

Will get MIL to pick up fresh stuff when she goes into work early hours of Christmas Eve.

Sorted.

CardyMow · 20/12/2009 21:37

We've got flu too Riven. BLERGH! DS2 had it first, has given it to the rest of us, then promptly got better. I can't be this ill at this time of year, my employer (the DC's) don't allow time off in December!! Am seriously considering doing my tesco's shop online tomorrow, as if I have to walk 1 1/2 miles to tescos and back in the snow, with a lively 6YO, an ill 7yo, an ill 11yo and myself feeling like death cooled down warmed up, and then have to fight the masses for the last parsnip, I might be forced to commit murderous actions (or shove said parsnip up someone's...)on anyone who gets in my way! what's tesco's delivery like? I've only ever used waitrose before, but funds will not stretch that far...

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 20/12/2009 21:41

Thing is unlikely to bag a delivery slot this late
I tried due to adverse weather conditions here!

OP posts:
CardyMow · 20/12/2009 22:01

No delivery slots?? but it's snowy and cold and there's no buses running and I'll have to push DS2's buggy through the snow as he can't walk that far And there's no taxi's, I just tried to book one... But you're right, there's no delivery slots til the 28th..... Who wants to go for me??!!.
