I never buy perfume for myself. i rely on DH to bring it back for me duty free when he travels away, or get it for Xmas. No gift sets, though, please. Hate those heavily perfumed show gels and body lotions - yuck.

Perfume is only boring if it is the cheap crappy kind, you want the £50+ per bottle ones. and no EDT!
Same principle goes for pens, candles, choccies etc Luxury goods all the way.

nappyaddict · 16/12/2009 12:10

What's wrong with EDT? I like quite light, sweet, fresh fragrances and they only ever seem to come in EDT.

The most boring presents ever though have to be handkerchiefs, socks and scented drawer liners surely?

Maybe they ask for perfume because it's easy for the other person to remember/find/wrap. If they asked for something too complicated - e.g. it comes in different sizes - they know it'll all go horribly wrong.

I can't use most perfumes as they give me a raging headache. Shame really as i like the bottles - and some of the smells. I've tried to find out something about the ingredients that are most likely to provoke a reaction but not yet found anything definitive. Anybody any ideas? I've tried using supposedly natural perfumes but have the same problems.

btw, aren't we supposed to refer to pongfume as fragrance these days?

Well, this year I have sent DH email pictures of.links to:

Books
Perfume
Bravissimo (no chance of getting anything from there)

So that's boring books and perfume. And last year he bought me some new kitchen knives. And a new fountain pen for my birthday.

I am soooo boring but he does buy me really nice chocs too.

I love getting decent perfume (as long as it's one I like). It's not something I can justify spending money on for myself, so it's a luxury.
