****NormaStanleyFletcher would like to say sorry as the Christmas Appeal Matching is slightly delayed****

NormaStanleyFletcher · 01/12/2009 19:58

Sorry folks

Some idiot company decided to give me a full time job earlier than expected, and I have a MASSIVE document to finish; they are paying me a load of money (well more than I have ever earned before) so I feel duty bound as the eager newbie to get it done in my free time...

I have no internet access during the day apart from BBC, tfl and a couple of others.

I have also been ill, not with a hangover from the Christmas Party, but with earache, and have had v little sleep, so had to have the day off work yesterday (so much for the eager newbie)

Anyhoo - this means that the matching will be delayed by a couple of days. Sorry

If you have a particular need to be matched early, drop me a mail ([email protected]) and I will shove you to the top of the list.

Thanks for listening.

Please bump this

Ta

Mamazontopofsantabeingrude · 08/12/2009 11:03

Fletch - if you need any help I am more than happy to forward on some emails or whatever.

It's a massive undertaking so don't feel you can't ask for help.

Your doing a fantastic job and everyone involved understands just what a mammoth task it is, every inch of your effort is appreciated.

ladytophamhat · 08/12/2009 11:08

sorry just realised my FGS at the end of my post sounded rather snippy - few too many glasses of white wine last night...

keep it up fletch you're going a grand job

ShepherdsWashedTheirLocks · 08/12/2009 13:15

Fletch, usual name is KnottyLocks, if you are trying to CAT me. You also have my email address.

Wishing you all the best.

FabIsVeryHappy · 08/12/2009 18:01

You are doing a great job.

Hulababy · 08/12/2009 18:08

MuffinToptheMule · 08/12/2009 22:52

magicofchristmas · 08/12/2009 22:54

Not me.

Waiting patiently

NormaStanleyFletcher · 08/12/2009 23:06

My living room wall is now covered in the details of al the nominees.

I have matched allof the people who wanted quick stuff so emailed me over the last couple of days

I have now realised that we still don't have details for the kids for a load of the nominees, so that will get sorted tomorrow and a load more matches then

In the background I am also chasing adresses, which is a pain in the bum

Poor you Norma.

As a lot of others have already said "well Done, you're doing a great job"

You'll make a lot of people VERY happy this christmas.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 08/12/2009 23:18

I feel like I have done a shit job

But I do have some great tips for whoever does this next year {do not accept a nomination without kids ages as a minimum)

Oh well, I hope to get some done on the train (no internet acess but can do some stuff)

magicofchristmas · 08/12/2009 23:25

Heh these things happen. Don't worry about it, better late than never.

Brilliant you took on the task, you could have easily said sorry no time to do this, inundated with new job and sickness, who else wants to take over?.

You didn't, and everyone who gets that little extra something on christmas morning will be raising a glass to Fletch

mumoverseas · 09/12/2009 06:05

you haven't done a shit job NSF, you have just taken on an awful lot, particularly with your new job. Congratulations on that by the way.

Just to let you know, I don't have CAT set up (useless at IT and don't know how to do it) so when you send me details of my receipients can you please do so by email. Thanks

DoingTheBestChristmasICan · 09/12/2009 07:09

If it helps you out,my previous name was DoingTheBestIcan.

I think you are doing a fantastic job & a lot of people will be very happy on Christmas morning because of you.

TulipsAndTinsel · 09/12/2009 10:15

I can receive CAT but can't send them, my usual nickname is PinkTulips.

Have emailed you anyway, let me know if I can help, if you email me a list of people to contact i could be hunting a few of them down for you or something

MrsBrendanCole · 09/12/2009 11:02

I havent heard anything, though im not pushing you Norma.

Im willing to be a (mumsnet) santas helper, if theres anything i can do.

TulipsAndTinsel · 09/12/2009 11:09

Oops, should have checked my email before posting, i've heard.

now i just have to figure out what the hell to buy a 9 year old girl

I feel a shopping trip coming on

TulipsAndTinsel · 09/12/2009 11:10

whoops, sorry typo there... 11 year old.... even tougher!

mumoverseas · 09/12/2009 11:53

damm it PT why have you heard and I haven't. I live PROPERLY overseas not just across a little bit of water
PS.11 year old girls are easy, anything pink, shiny and sparkly and from somewhere like Claires accessories. Do you have those over there?

FabIsVeryHappy · 09/12/2009 13:06

I think that it will be fine for people to receive a gift after Christmas. No one knows they are potentially receiving anything and it would be a real boost after the flat feeling you can get after Christmas and new year are over.

TRsPurpleReindeerIsNamedRhino · 09/12/2009 13:44

that is a very good point fab

none of these people are expecting these things

TulipsAndTinsel · 09/12/2009 17:28

thanks for the tip mos.... i can't remember what on earth i was into at 11!

fab is right of course, lovely as it would be to have gifts for xmas it would probably be just as nice right afterwards when that post xmas depression sets in
