For a few of the adults that are hard to buy for (they're all 25-35) I am making up sweets in a jar, the kind of sweets we all ate as children and loved but don't buy/can't buy now. Would anyone mind looking at the list below and telling me what you loved and i've left off?!

I am going to put a few of each sweet into each jar so that they won't end up with lots of the same and I think there needs to be lots of different things.

  • Sherbet pips
  • fish n chips
  • black jack
  • fruit salad
  • chocolate cups
  • rhubarb and custard
  • foam strawberries
  • foam mushrooms
  • gobstoppers
  • shrimps
  • fizz whizz (popping candy)
  • candy whistle
  • drumstick
  • milk bottles
  • cola bottles
  • fizzers
  • gum bears
  • wham bars
  • pear drops
  • candy letters
  • highland toffee bar

TIA

Have a look here for more inspiration

badietbuddy · 27/11/2009 17:58

O no parma violets are lush. And I buy perfume just because it smells like them

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 27/11/2009 17:59

Those chocolate button shaped sweets with little coloured balls on the top.

Eddas · 27/11/2009 18:00

thanks for the replies so far, will look at that webstie, had been on a similar one to get the list so far

The trouble is i'm looking at all the ones I'd like, so need other people to tell me things the people I'm buying for might've loved. I might add a few for me though

where are you getting the sweets and jars from? my sugar crazed family would love this!

TheArmadillo · 28/11/2009 12:18

flying saucers
lemon bonbons
sour apples

Eddas · 28/11/2009 12:26

getting sweets from here never used them before so hope they're good. Someone else linked to another online place

The jars are kilner jars, I bought mine in Dunelm Mill but i'm sure you can get them in Ikea etc. Mine were about £1.50 per jar. I'll probably spend about £40 on sweets! But that covers 7 presents so all in all not a bad price. Just hope they like them!

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep em coming! I'm going to order tonight
