I have 50 people to buy for, with a donation of £100 from the boss and I could probably contribute another £25 so about £2.40 per head! Can't do gambling or alcohol so those out of the question! Would be grateful for any suggestions, there are women and men to buy for! Thanks!

Who's your boss - Ebeneezer Scrooge?

MissisBoot · 19/12/2008 22:31

lottery ticket?

MissisBoot · 19/12/2008 22:31

sorry - just realised no gambling.

UnfortunatelyMe · 19/12/2008 22:32

Lottery Ticket me thinks, and a bar of choccy as compensation if they lose

UnfortunatelyMe · 19/12/2008 22:32

Oh.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 19/12/2008 22:33

God your boss isn't very generous is he? Dp came home with a bottle of wine today from his boss which i've been quaffing I've looked it up to see the price because it's so nice and was shocked to see it's 12-14 quid a bottle. I'm usually a £5 downwards kind of girl so now i'm gently sipping rather than quaffing.

SueW · 19/12/2008 22:33

Primark have lots of bangles/bracelets for a quid or pendants for up to £2.50.

Don't know about men.

mumbear · 19/12/2008 22:33

geisha · 19/12/2008 22:36

All I could think of was a lottery ticket was all I could thing of too. But can't do gambling.

bath bombs?

morningpaper · 19/12/2008 22:38

try Morrisons, they have lots of stuff VERY cheap, 2-3 quid would cover lots

Also SUPERDRUG likewise

Sidge · 19/12/2008 22:39

Asda had their Glade Christmas scented candles on offer for £2.

Primark have hanky sets etc for a couple of quid.

SnowballsintheSky · 19/12/2008 22:39

Maybe if you have a Lush near you they might bundle up one of their bath bombs etc in festive little parcels. They do boy stuff too but it depends if you're near one.

Theochris · 19/12/2008 22:40

Boxes of yummy little toblerones and sensations are reduced to 2 quid at Sainsburys at the mo. Both utter nightmares to wrap though.

mazzystartled · 19/12/2008 22:41

its got to be chocolate really

pinkbubble · 19/12/2008 22:41

Are there any good 3 for 2's any where?

PB thinks quickly and comes up a blank!

MissisBoot · 19/12/2008 22:42

Go back and tell them that you can't get anything within budget - that's a bloody joke - if I was a nurse I'd be bloody insulted. (I'm making the huge assumption that this is in the NHS)

Why do you have to contribute?

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 19/12/2008 22:42

Can you not pool the money and spend it on a group gift/experience/ kitty for a night out et?

geisha · 19/12/2008 22:44

It is the NHS but the money is out of the consultants own pockets. I don't have to contribute but thought I could get a bit more. Maybe I should get lottery tickets.....

The xmas night out has been and gone. Thought about using the money to put wine on the table but didn't because only about half the staff were there. Please help!!!!

SparklyGothKat · 19/12/2008 22:48

sainsburys have some candle sets for £2.50 and Oil defiffers (sp?) for £1.50.

MissisBoot · 19/12/2008 22:48

I'm sure the consultants can afford to dig their hands a bit deeper - its not as if they're on a low salary is it?

geisha · 19/12/2008 22:50

candles is a good idea for girls.....
