"What do you REALLY want for Christmas?"

My dp fixed me with a steely gaze and asked me this last night. I realized that what I REALLY REALLY want is a lovely ladle so that I can feel all motherly ladling stew out of my Le Creuset stew pot, and a concertina. He now thinks I'm very strange. What do you want?

A netbook. Our computer is nearly dead and I don't want another desktop.

What I really wanted last year - and still don't have is a mincer

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 14/12/2008 08:32

I really want a cake rack and a decent cake tin but know someone will think I need more foot scrubby type stuff. Mind you, last year I really wanted a mooncup and dh did get it for me, however I had also asked for some lovely perfume and the box was nearly the same size. I held on to it all day till all of the other pressies were opened as I was so excited by my 'perfume' - the look on my face when I opened it and it was a mooncup..

seeker · 14/12/2008 08:32

I want a mincer now too - but I daren't ask for one, or he'll think I'm even stranger!

SueW - that is a lovely mincer. We had one of those at home when I was little. One year when I was a teenager my mum actually bought me a sausage making machine, I was always a foody.

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 14/12/2008 08:36

Actuallly I REALLY want a mincer now as well, like the idea of actually knowing what's going into my bolognese rather than relying on Mr Tesco to do the mincing.

twoluvlysnowmen · 14/12/2008 08:40

we had one like that when I was a child!

now I want one too. and a sausage making machine. I love kitchen gadgets

what have you started, seeker???

Umlellala · 14/12/2008 08:41

Can't believe we are all getting converted to the mincer. Might be dh's pressie there...

ssd · 14/12/2008 08:43

a babysitter that'll help us out for free anytime that suits me

shootRudolphinthehip · 14/12/2008 08:46

My DH's attitude to improve. About as likely as me winning the lottery. Bawbag,

ssd · 14/12/2008 08:50

are you from Glasgow?

Cupofteaplease · 14/12/2008 09:04

Ooh, I'd quite like the mincer too!

Haribolicious · 14/12/2008 09:15

I really want a Wilton cupcake stand!! DH asked me the same question on Friday night and when I told him, he said 'not to be so silly'!! But I really DO want one
I really like the babysitter idea too ssd

Malkuth · 14/12/2008 09:16

A Raclette grill. I am also a sucker for kitchen gadgets (and am very taken with that mincer!).

Penthesileia · 14/12/2008 09:22

World Peace!

Is it sad, nay tragic even, to admit that I'd like a cup-holder for my Bugaboo?...

seeker · 14/12/2008 09:38

Can anyone do a link to a lovely ladle?

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 14/12/2008 09:40

Oh wow - that is just like the mincer we had growing up (assume mum still has it). Dunno what I would attach it to.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2008 10:19

A spice grinder. Was watching Indian Cooking Made Easy yesterday and came over all inspired!

Also some roller boots for my new roller derby practice!

crazyloon1 · 14/12/2008 10:21

socks

I would love almost-dp to propose but that isn't going to happen as we are not quite dating yet

one step at a time, hey

PavlovtheRedNosedReindeer · 14/12/2008 10:22

I new paddle for my kayak. DH thinks this is a 'summer' present and wont buy it for me. He also wont buy me a wetsuit (best time to buy it, as they are all cheap in winter) or anything else kayak related. He says he does not want to only buy me this stuff.

He is looking for a vanity case for me (I do want one, but not as much as a paddle)

KbearingGiftsWeTraverseAfar · 14/12/2008 10:22

I WANT THAT MINCER TOO!!! LOL

Sales are going to rocket! I also want a Mouli-grater like my mum used to have - it made grated cheese all wispy and fine! ha ha

LaDiDaDi · 14/12/2008 10:23

More sex
A sparkly cocktail ring
Chocolate

moondog · 14/12/2008 10:23

Someone to take over at home for 2 weeks while I do my MSc literature review.

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 14/12/2008 10:37

I'd quite like a cleaner, a box of tissues and a cure for the sodding flu (dd and I are both floored with it just now). Oh and DH home for Christmas instead of having to be at work in Brazil
