"What do you REALLY want for Christmas?"

My dp fixed me with a steely gaze and asked me this last night. I realized that what I REALLY REALLY want is a lovely ladle so that I can feel all motherly ladling stew out of my Le Creuset stew pot, and a concertina. He now thinks I'm very strange. What do you want?

If my DH got me any kind of kitchen equipment (apart from Kitchenaid) I would hit him with it.

Piccalilli2 · 16/12/2008 16:01

The absolute only thing in the world I want is for dd2 to start sleeping. I'd also like some nice undies but no point til I stop breastfeeding. Dh got me a kitchenaid last year, I was a bit disappointed at the time (not very romantic, is it?) but now think it's the best pressie ever and I never would have bought one for myself.

RumpeliciousChristmasWishes · 16/12/2008 16:34

I would like a long lie (whilst DH looks after the DC) a cup of tea, ferrero rocher, Terry Pratchetts' latest, then a hot bath with Lush stuff and a glass or 2 of bubbly - I would also like some liposuction but the former is more realistic at this point in time

Neeerly3 · 16/12/2008 16:49

I don't do cooking, so any kitchen equipment would be shoved where the sun don't shine, and is actually far more likely to be listed on DH's xmas wish list.

I would love some Ugg Cardys to finish off my yummy mummy image that I will try to be faking in feb when DC3 arrives.

I asked for lots of trashy novels to read while on mat leave, but DH has asked if I would prefer to spend the money on something else and will get me a library card!

I would also like a jewellery roll, so all my costume bling that I take on hols can be kept in one place.

One secret wish is to get permission to go on a limitless spending spree in London (after DC3 arrives and I am back as a size 0 ), i would just love to have NEW clothes and not recycled handmedowns from family and friends.

a spa treatment and a day to myself to enjoy it!

delightedoldbag34 · 16/12/2008 22:25

but maggiethecat if you bide your time the White Company usually put everthing in their sale so it might go to 40-50% off in a week or so. If you can hold out that long for it?

MumHadEnoughTinsel · 16/12/2008 22:32

For the first time in my life I asked for something for the house, a Roomba! I was told under no circumstances by dh was he buying me that for xmas.

He told me to buy one if I want, but trouble is I can't afford it and would rather he just used my xmas prezzie money to buy me it, but he won't. I REALLY want one!

PippiCalzelunghe · 17/12/2008 00:19

what's a roomba??

PippiCalzelunghe · 17/12/2008 00:27

Ahhhhh now I want the roomba as well... not for xmas though!

MamaHobgoblin · 17/12/2008 16:31

I left a doc with 'christmas hints' for my DH to discover on the laptop (yes, I know, very grasping, but he needs help and otherwise would only ask me outright) and I suggested things to make me feel warm, loved and cosy: nice new PJs and some very soft socks for mooching about in. I also asked for the odd weekend off childcare, but I can't really complain.

Having thought about it, I'd also really like some new clothes that magically make me look 1.5 stones lighter, but they don't exist, sadly.

LadyLauraStandish · 17/12/2008 16:36

A roomba

The pair of earrings I asked dh to get me for my birthday (which he didn't get me, obviously!)

Oh, maybe a mincer too.......

I'd like to go away for Xmas somewhere warm, comfy and all inclusive far far away from the in laws! Chances of winning the lottery are greater. I would settle for a Kitchen Aid but hubby would just think it was something for when I injure myself in the kitchen. We agreed not to get anything for each other this year, but I got myself my favourite DVD and will wrap it up to me from Santa.

NumberFour · 17/12/2008 16:48

I want: Very Irresistable by Givenchy, lovely soft cuddly cardigan, new leather handbag, though not sure which one, knee length black boots, new crockery set with coffee mugs, manicure and pedicure, coffee machine with grinder in one, silver jewellery, rampant rabbit, egyptian cotton bedding, wine glasses, new wallet.

What i will get: bugger all.

thumbElf · 17/12/2008 16:53

REALLY? I really want a lottery win/windfall that would cover:
the cost of my new boiler currently being installed (plus extras and labour);
my car to be repaired so it actually works without DH having to attempt to replace the head gasket himself
a carpet for the dining room and bathroom instead of the "rugs" and offcuts that are currently in there, leaving exposed gripparod for DS to play with

Failing that, a new job that i can do from home starting in the NY would be good, since my current one ends at the end of December.

Smithagain · 17/12/2008 17:13

Last year I really, really, really wanted one of those desktop pencil sharpeners with the winding handle. It took some effort to persuade my parents that I wasn't taking the mickey. But they did buy it and guess what, it's JUST as good as I thought it would be!

I'll get my coat.
