"What do you REALLY want for Christmas?"

My dp fixed me with a steely gaze and asked me this last night. I realized that what I REALLY REALLY want is a lovely ladle so that I can feel all motherly ladling stew out of my Le Creuset stew pot, and a concertina. He now thinks I'm very strange. What do you want?

my camera... it's even reduce down to just 309 euros but still too expensive.

dp is getting me professor layton for the ds though and a nice changing bag as i'm about to have our 3rd baby and have never had a proper changing bag... i generally just wander about looking like one of those crazed women on the street with 20 bags of varying sizes draped about my person

i really wanted both of those things so i'm happy... although the childish part of my brain is still whining 'but i wanna camera'

maggiethecat · 15/12/2008 16:35

A nice cake stand with a glass (?) cover so that you can see your wonderful creation through - if anyone knows where to get one let me know so I might drop a few hints if it's not too late.

A day off and a decent night's sleep.

randomxmas · 15/12/2008 16:46

I'll sign up for that idea ohreindeer

I really want that purple Reiss dress that Kerry Katona wears in the terrible advert that shall not be named.

It was last season though. Bums.

potatofactory · 15/12/2008 18:50

I just bought the mincer for my dh - it's PERFECT Thanks ladies!!!!!

janeite · 15/12/2008 19:06

I have asked for a cakestand and a big old fashioned pottery mixing bowl for the past two years and nobody will buy them for me.
This year I would like both of the above, plus a cotton old fashioned waist tie apron (just to cover my skirt) and a necklace shaped like a peapod.

I suspect that in reality I will get lovely goodies from Origins, lots of books and some "posh chocs". Not that I'm complaining really.

imsantasmum · 15/12/2008 21:00

A big wad of cash so I can go back to work in April part time instead of full time (will miss my pfb DD sooooo much)

PippiCalzelunghe · 15/12/2008 21:00

maggiethecat ikea does the cake stand with lid.

I want a weekend away with dh with perfect childcare arranged (not by me)! and our family to keep being like the peppa pig's.

ChristmasPresence · 15/12/2008 21:03

sheepskin slippers
highlighter pens
Le Creuset casserole

GoodWilfToAllMN · 15/12/2008 21:03

My shower to work properly.

frisbyrat · 15/12/2008 21:09

A really good book by an author who will become my new favourite.
A romantic piece of jewellery.
A properly coloured-in picture by dd (4).
That mincer.

delightedoldbag34 · 15/12/2008 23:38

Try The White Company for the glass cake stand with cover thing, Am sure I've seen one there.

I didn't think I wanted anything until watching Nigella on tv tonight remembered that I've always (for about 8 yrs anyway) wanted one of those big freestanding mixers that come in different colours. Can't remember the name but they are HORRIBLY expensive and every year I hope I'll get one in the sales but they are still about £300. For a mixer. I may have to bide my time

Don't really want a mincer either. I'd rather watch my (quite sexy) butcher do it for me!

Moondancer · 15/12/2008 23:45

I really want a fork bracelet from a company called 'Hairy Growler'

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 15/12/2008 23:49

Kitchenaid

I would like:

  • To sleep for a week
  • A load of money
  • A nice satchel for work, with space for all my files & blackbberry etc
  • My dad to stop having dementia
  • My exP to rot in hell (sorry, still raw)
threestars · 15/12/2008 23:53

A lie-in for me too, please. And socks.

Oh alright, and some Jo Malone LimeBasilandMandarin perfume too if you have to...

becklespeckle · 16/12/2008 00:53

A job for DH would be nice...

Failing that, some nice chocolate and a fab day with the DCs will more than do!

1dilemma · 16/12/2008 01:04

A home

delightedoldbag34 · 16/12/2008 08:28

Thanks TheMoistWorld yes, Kitchenaid - the name was just escaping me. Pregnancy brain. Durrr.
I would also like a full nights sleep and my kids not to have '60-a day' smokers type coughs, colds and runny noses constantly.

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 16/12/2008 10:14

Oh dear, I googled "hairy growler"......

higgle · 16/12/2008 11:01

An ice cream maker ( a posh one that plugs in and does it all) and a place on a life drawing class.

maggiethecat · 16/12/2008 12:44

Thanks Pippi and Delighted - had a look and one costs £10 and the other almost £60 -ouch! but then since it's a present to me.......

PippiCalzelunghe · 16/12/2008 12:48

maggiecat normally the present to me are the ones I pay 10pounds for and the dc get the expennsive ones... hope it's the other way round in your house !

honeydew · 16/12/2008 13:30

A holiday with husband for a week. We have 3 children under 5 and have yet to have even one whole day off together on our own without kids. It's been 5 years now and we're knackered.

Bathsheba · 16/12/2008 13:56

I asked my Dh for a Cath Kidston apron for my birthday - there was a package from there arrived a few weeks ago, I didn;t get it for my birthday but I'm hoping I'll get it for Christmas

Rather Bunting Cupcake of me
