Wine.

We sometimes get a takeaway on christmas eve.

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/12/2008 15:25

I am usually exhausted by Xmas Eve so we go for an early meal at our local family-friendly pub, with all the family. It's nice relaxing way to start the xmas choas.

needmorecoffee · 04/12/2008 15:25

you meant to plan ahead?

jenk1 · 04/12/2008 15:33

Chips n egg!

mumski · 04/12/2008 16:00

Baileys sounds a fab idea, but does anyone know if you can get the Caramel version cheaper any where such as an own brand? It's to die for, but getting expensive in the quantities we are getting though

boogeek · 04/12/2008 16:02

We always have fish on Christmas Eve (am starting to think we are unusually formal!) - I've done a whole salmon the last couple of years. Lovely cold in sandwiches on Boxing Day, too.

pigleto · 04/12/2008 16:02

I'm doing Nigellas macaroni cheese. By special request.

AMumInScotland · 04/12/2008 16:04

No idea! Probably something nice and easy though, maybe a pizza...

claireybaubles · 04/12/2008 16:15

I have nicked someone else's idea from a previous thread so we'll be having hot roast pork sandwiches

witchwithallthetrimmings · 04/12/2008 16:17

and christmas day

timmette · 04/12/2008 16:24

Like your idea pigleto - that would keep hubbby and son very happy and out of my way may have to nick that.
I will be having a large glass of wine and hoping we don't get any unexpected visitors.

Lizzylou · 04/12/2008 16:27

WE are having family over so will be buffet stylee, SIL is a veggie so am thinking a Quorn chilli/Vegetable lasagne and then posh nibbles/Olives/salads etc

norksinmywaistband · 04/12/2008 16:32

Fish and chips - We are going away on Xmas morning and not back for nearly a week, so I won't have any food in

cherryontopofthexmastree · 04/12/2008 16:34

ham egg and chips! am buying a honey roast ham, so will have chunks slices of that with nice eggs, homemade chips and beans and bread and butter. yum
