Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here:

@snoopinginstlye just to add I think I'm going to get the vet set from gltc for my 4 year old. Then a white coat from vinted and pick up a soft toy that fits into the vet carrier.
You could do something similar with a doctor's kit?

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has had dealings with a site called Onbuy please? I bought a Shaun the Sheep backpack on there a week ago, and have just received a refund, saying address undeliverable? I'm thinking now it may not have been genuine, although at least they've sent the money back...

I’ve used them a few times without problems, items came quickly. From what I can remember I bought a set of stepladders and a box of filters for my water jug (at different times), but I think I’ve bought a couple of other times too.

weareallqueens · 03/11/2026 22:25

Someone had posted about bubble bath (or similar) with traitors robes on them. I think maybe in B&M? Has anyone seen them or have I missed the boat?

Woweehooha · 03/11/2026 22:26

@snoopinginstlye my 4 year old has this Melissa & Doug Drs dress up set which is reasonably priced. He loves it. And I quite like lying down playing the patient 😆

@Moonlightfrog according to camelcamelcamel, the lowest the red bull has ever been is £134 so i’d be surprised if it goes much lower. Amazing are good at price matching I find

Has anyone seen any deals (or has recommendations) on bird feeder camera things? I think it will be a good gift for my hard to buy for DBiL ('cos he is v. wealthy and can afford everything he wants). Should I wait until Black Friday? He is very good to me so I dont mind spending a bit on it.

Edited for typos.

Petal7 · 03/11/2026 22:53

@CactusRabbit I used OnBuy last year to order an Owala water bottle. When it arrived, it was clear it was fake.
I had a nightmare getting a refund. They kept offering a 20/30/50% refund and saying I could keep it. I had to mail multiple times, very sternly to eventually get a full refund. I could have been unlucky, but I'd avoid at all costs.

She already has the McLaren (her favourite) so would be happy with any of the others, she would like to collect them all, she’s 20 and severely autistic and F1 is her current hyper fixation 🤣. £130 is the cheapest I have seen it so far but I’m worried it might go down further if I buy it too soon, but also worried it will go back up in price.

Highly unlikely to go much lower, £130 is genuinely a good price for that size of set.

I have a Birdfy one and I love it. It’s not super cheap but they did a good deal around Black Friday/holidays last year and I went for it.

they also do a bird bath which is really cute but I’ve not jumped in on that one (yet)

DaffodilsInAJamjar · 03/11/2026 22:56

My local Iceland had traitors chocolate coins in nets for 10p today. They were with the Halloween decorations (also down to 10p- I bought light up pumpkin lanterns, slapband watches, pumpkin fairy lights and pumpkin glasses for next year.)

Is a good "proper" coffee machine that grinds beans possible for £150 please? Any recommendations? I know nothing about coffee

(Failing that a good dash cam?)

MiTu · 03/11/2026 23:25

Does anyone know if Highland Soap Co normally participate in Black Friday?

Femeia · 03/11/2026 23:26

@babynumberthreeeewhere did you see the 30% off Nespresso? I can only find 20% with code BF20 but would love 30%!

Sounds like a great deal and I would be happy with that too! Try the Tesco vouchers next time as I was able to stack my Tesco vouchers with the £25 % off and the extra £5 off for buying a second gift. Got 2 x Elizabeth Scarlett pouches and a delivery of Xmas flowers for £67 all paid for by £33.50 Tesco vouchers.

Thank you @jocktamsonsbairn . I'll definitely give it a try next time.

Any suggestions for a juggling set? My 14 year old has taught himself to juggle with 3 balls but the balls we have are quite old and broken.

I was thinking a more professional set with more balls or maybe some clubs? Don’t want to spend too much but don’t want it to look like a kids’ toy.

Thanks!

Totally selfish bump as I am also interested

I picked one up from B&M today, my local store had a few in still. Plus colour change bath bombs to "end game" or "banish again"

@snoopinginstlye the best dr set imho is the fisher price vintage set in a wee suitcase. My kids and grandkids love it and the stethoscope really works!! Check out Vinted.

Just to second the Fisher Price Doctor’s Kit. I bought ours for our children and now the grandchildren are using it!
