Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here:

A mince pie advent calendar, this has blown my mind!!!!!
Sainsbury’s are going to stock one, £20, pricey just for mince pies but I think DH will love it!

Thank you!
On the Firetoy website, I found Zipstring which looks fab for my very intelligent and very lovely teenage ADHD grandson.
BUT, is the string too long too use indoors?
Thanks in advance to @KG1145 or others in the know.

I’m interested in zipstring (the webshooters style) too, but it’s soooo expensive for what it is! I keep looking at the Ali express /similar versions and wondering whether they will be just as good at 1/3 off. If anyone can help me with my dilemma, I’d be interested.

In terms of size, I would say they can definitely be used indoors - we saw one being demonstrated in a shop!

Another request (sorry!)… we are probably going to go secondhand but if anyone spots any really lovely, but bargainous, dolls houses, I’d be so grateful!

ay30916 · 06/11/2026 15:57

Sorry if this has been asked already. Home Alone Lego. It’s £234 on smyths. Has anybody found a better price? Is it worth it. I believe it’s being retired and I’m really tempted to get it for DH (even though we’ve said £100 limit). But it looks ace!

Re Bodyshop I had a £5 coupon from their Love My Body club which I was going to use for two of the clearance lipbalms plus the hand cream. The postage put me off so I didn’t check out. They send me a free delivery code after about 2 hours which stacked, so two lipbalms and the small hand cream delivered for £1.

ETA It actually was my birthday, but you might want to add a handy November birthday to your account 😉

Try to sign out of shop - it seems too have a memory of 1000 years even if you use another email !

Make sure you have a Body Shop account t and have joined the Love Your Body club bit.

If you use email and don’t enter the shop code - ignore even if they send it (I am sure it’s the devil in disguise!) then you will get a Body Shop code to your email and use that.

then refresh - fingers crossed !

Thanks for this- it is working for the free Shea cream now but when I went to check out it’s trying to charge me for the matcha- think maybe that offer has ended?
they also sent me a free delivery code but that won’t stack

Damn that’s much better value. DH loves a mince pie so worth it.

I couldn’t use free delivery either - maybe it’s for full price items. Can you try adding one of the £1 bags in the outlet bit - maybe when the shea goes free it looks like you aren’t buying anything ?

MerylSqueak · 06/11/2026 16:38

I couldn't get the shea hand cream despite signing up for and into everything. I did leave the matcha one in my basket at that point with a grapefruit one from the clearance section and they sent me a free delivery code. I settled for that!

MerylSqueak · 06/11/2026 16:42

Oh! I also wanted to do a shout out for Oral B customer service. I was given a io2 toothbrush last year bought for about £40 I think. I didn't have the receipt and I threw the box. I was very annoyed when it broke in October. I saw they had a free repair service ( you just have to register and print a label and note to go in the box). Nothing ventured nothing gained, I reckoned.

Today, I received a box back from them. In it was a note to say so8they didn't have my toothbrush any more and to please accept an upgrade - the toothbrush in the box was an io9 which is selling for about £180 😯Good customer service or what?

🎄 Rehab Hair
50% off site wide and a free gift worth £35. I added the viral brush for £8 and the gift set was added

@FOBIthefearobeingincluded Thank you so much for this! I've done the same and got the brush and the free gift for £11.20 including delivery (plus the 10% sign-up discount) Another bargain gift sorted! 😊

CactusRabbit · 06/11/2026 16:44

Not sure if it's been noted, but if you are buying the Bayliss and Harding Festive gift bags, earliest delivery is 24th December. Don't want anyone getting caught out ...

MyNameisLancelot · 06/11/2026 16:44

My daughter is in love with her friend's doll but we've just discovered it is American Girl and they are soo expensive!! She wants cute, soft-bodied with plastic limbs and blonde hair. Can anybody recommend something similar, or where I can get a reasonably priced AG doll?!

Also, my son would love the Sylvanians Ice Cream van and the donut cart, if anybody has seen them for a good price?

I take it you don't know anything about old school players that you wind up as well? My husband asked for one for Christmas and I'm absolutely 100% certain I'm going to mix up record and record player types.

Hiya, do you mean really old school gramophones?
Coz they'd only play 78s, not vinyl LPs.

VikingNorthUtsire · 06/11/2026 16:46

I can get the Shea hand cream into my basket for free (using the code) but the matcha one isn't adding. Will assume they've ended the offer unless anyone can report it still working.

You’ll need to add something that’s not free to get the matcha cream added. It will add automatically once there is something in the basket.

Regarding Vinyl players, I have researched extensively on this and think I can help.

The ones that have the speakers built in are handy and cheap but they have a lower quality of sound and will damage vinyls over time. For the normal user, this won't be an issue, but if you're a collector and want to keep things in good order, avoid like the plague.

The best bang for your buck is hands down:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PS-LX3BT-Bluetooth-Turntable-Operation-Black/dp/B0GF9LPR9X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1

It's actually £100 off on a limited offer at the moment!

Get yourself a pair of decent bookshelf speakers to go with it (I went for Edifier) and you are looking at a brilliant, Crystal clear set up for way less than the high-end equivalent.

That's my two cents anyway :)

I have this one and it’s very good. Sounds great linked to my Alexa Studio via Bluetooth but sounds amazingly good linked to the Edifier speaker set ! Definitely recommend.

I had a £3 lip balm in my basket too- both hand creams were showing as free but when I was mid check out then it said the payment amount had altered.
I can’t see the matcha offer on their home page now so I think it might have finished

Certain places have it on offer for Black Friday around £250. I resent not getting an even bigger bargain though 😂
