Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

Bargain hunting help needed! My daughter would like a Shark Glam 5 in 1 for Christmas.
Shark Glam
Certain places have it on offer for Black Friday around £250. I resent not getting an even bigger bargain though 😂
cam anyone find it cheaper or find me a working discount code for Sephora, Look Fantastic, Argos….
TIA

@Captainflash I believe it is 209 at Argos and Currys, I think it's the same one.

Nomdeplumeforthis1 · 06/11/2026 17:32

Thank you for looking- those don’t have the diffuser included. That’s the part she really
wants too!

I'm going to sound like such a massive Grinch (again) but if you're buying presents for big readers, please think carefully about these "blind date" packages.

If I had a friend lovely enough to spend £10 on a book for me, then I have a wishlist of books that I really want and which would make me extremely happy to find in a parcel. I've also had great surprise choices from friends who've chosen a book they thought I'd love or a recommendation from a bookseller.

I've had blind date type gifts before and ultimately I end up with a few sweeties, some pretty wrapping that goes in the bin, and a random book that I don't want to read. Usually (in my personal experience) a remaindered book of the type that The Works struggle to sell for a couple of quid.

Sorry to be negative.

Completely agree with this too. It looks so cute and tempting but I think a well chosen book with a lovely bookmark will hit the spot with reading lovers in my family (and me!)

Lurleene · 06/11/2026 17:37

Ah that's a shame. Hope you find it.
I know vouchercodes.com is offering a £50 John Lewis voucher if you buy a Shatk product from John Lewis but it is a risk if it doesn't track. @captainflash

I ordered the PLouise Micellar water a while back and thought I would try again with a different email address. I have done two orders today with 2 separate email addresses and the code TREAT still works. So, free Micellar water worth £9.95. You pay £2 delivery when it was £1 before but still worth it. Comes in a beautiful box an you could add some more items.

I hadn’t checked out for the shea hand cream offer a bit ago and had a 15% code so got the 2 hand creams and a lip balm delivered for £6!

Thanks for this, I’ve tried but it’s not giving me the matcha hand balm and when I add it it’s charging me. Did you have a code or do it in a specific order?

Elpheba · 06/11/2026 17:45

Another plea for an Argos code if anyone has one spare 🙏🏻 ideally a £5 of a £50 would be perfect!

Can anyone remember who sold the small, pastel coloured waffle makers in previous years, please?

Looking for some help!
I want to get the Lego Fierce Dinosaur for a friend's son. It's really only a token gift so £20 full price is a bit much.
It's £15 on Amazon. But also in the 2 for £20 on Argos. His brother is 4 in February so if I could find something for him, it could work out well. Plus I have some nectar points I can use.
The problem is, I cannot see anything nice for the 4 year old. My friend would say he is advanced, so I was thinking for Lego taxi, but is that too much for a 4 year old?
Any other suggestions?

Unless you know the child is super keen on Lego, I’d say it might be a little tricky. Lots of kids find Lego tricky at 4, and can get discouraged (some love it!). If you know they are into lego, absolutely go for it… if not there are loads of non-Lego things on that deal. A big crayola set, one of the simple remote control cars, or one of the bigger orchard games like the bus stop should be more guaranteed success.

Urban Outfitters had mini waffle makers for £11, just checked my email, 2023 though so maybe you're thinking of somewhere else. Thought I'd mention it just incase. Can't see any on their site now though!

Stellinazucca · 06/11/2026 18:12

Is £30 plus £5postage the cheapest I’ll get the task master advent calendar for? Is it worth that?

ay30916 · 06/11/2026 18:13

Re Needohs. I was talking to my kids & apparently Spek are a good brand too and seem a little bit easier to get. We just popped to our local Oliver Bonas & they had plenty on the shelf. The sales assistant said last week they sold out but she thinks due to half term but they seem to get regular deliveries. Just a possible alternative for people.

FOBIthefearobeingincluded · 06/11/2026 18:24

Does anyone have an Argos code for £80? Can you PM it to me if you’re not using. Thanks in advance

That's really useful, thank you! The mum is quite fussy about what they get, she doesn't like "plastic tat" but most toys that age seem to be that!!!

Yes, that was it! I kept thinking Oliver Bonas but didn’t think that was right !

My Elemis gift sets have arrived from QVC today, I got 3 out of 4 scents and my favourite is the sandalwood. Got 10% off with blue light discount too.

My daughter is in love with her friend's doll but we've just discovered it is American Girl and they are soo expensive!! She wants cute, soft-bodied with plastic limbs and blonde hair. Can anybody recommend something similar, or where I can get a reasonably priced AG doll?!

Also, my son would love the Sylvanians Ice Cream van and the donut cart, if anybody has seen them for a good price?

My girls had the Argos Designafriend dolls when they were younger and Smyths toys did a more expensive version which is still cheaper than American girl dolls. They are called Our generation dolls and there are some beautiful ones. Both do lots of accessories and clothes.

hugsandpugs · 06/11/2026 18:58

I’ve also tried the body shop offer but the matcha cream isn’t adding for me either so assuming it’s ended 🫣

Please can I have some help with ideas? My Mum turns 80 just after Christmas. We were going to go away for a weekend and activity for her gift, as a surprise, but that's had to be cancelled as her mobility has worsened so this trip isn't feasible or suitable anymore. So I now need a more traditional gift, or gifts, for Christmas and Birthday! I'd like to get her something special, and can join with my sister for something more costly. I'd thought of a Liberty voucher or similar, but I'm sure we could do something else. All ideas welcome please!

We got my Nan an Aura frame last Christmas between lots of us. She loves it and we love how easy it is for her to use and for us to upload stuff to the app. Just needs a plug and WiFi connection.

I’ve just been out with my 15yo and found these in Look Fantastic. £25 Xmas cracker. There’s a skincare one, cosmetic one & hair one. She asked me to get her the skincare one for Xmas. Look lovely in person. Great value & expect they would go down well with teens/young adults

I got mine from Amazon they are about £15. However if I were buying again I'd get one with removeable plates as it would be easier to clean. Lakeland have one for £19.99 which has this and it would be worth the extra £4 for the convenience.
