Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here:

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

Thank you so much for this! DS (who is 7) will love this.

I really.need to stop buying for her now and get onto others...

It's such a pity that there are so many girl choices but the boy one's are all marvel or Minecraft. My boy would love something like this!

This is a small shop at Trentham Gardens Stoke-on-Trent they haven't got the Jellycat seal in at the moment but she does seem to get restocks often. My daughter finally got her seal from there. 🦭

B&Q has some baskets which are pre-planted with spring bulbs. The baskets are large - bigger than a standard bucket, and look great. It says all you need to do in the spring is take the lid off and you'll have 5 months of a display and scent. They are £15. There are 2 styles. I tried to add a link but it wouldn't let me so I am trying without and will quote myself in a moment with the links.

It still won't post with a link in , so search for the following on the B&Q site:

Verve Spring Serenade

or

Verve Spring Whisper

I've got a couple for elderly aunts who I will be seeing (too large to post)

I only buy kindle books when they are 99p, you can get a daily email from amazon with all the ones on offer. They took the ability to download books away though 🙄 so that's why I'd like a new one.

Arregaithel · 05/11/2026 19:55

🎄

@JustAMiddleAgedDirtBagBaby there are various on Amazon.

This one is a Cat Wooden Colouring Puzzle with 24 markers £17.99

I just realised I misgendered my dughter. 🤣🤣🤣 7 and very much into pink still (despite a lifetime of gentle persuasion otherwise)

Agree that boys choices can be limited, though. The same with clothes.

Been a pig of a day, in my defence.

Can I please ask you how heavy it is? As in would it be ok on first floor and is it hard to manhandle around? Thanks

It’s not light but I find it easy enough to move. I keep it under the sofa when not in use and I can get it out on my own no problem. It has wheels on the front so you can use those to help manoeuvre it.

Thank you for this. They look lovely. Unfortunately only one type available near me otherwise I would have bought two of each. (And annoyingly I have a £9 off a £60 spend at B&Q, but nothing I want to spend another £30 on 😅)

Hi im looking at getting an oura 5 ring, rrp £399. Ive never had one before but have read they dont really do any great offers for new releases.
Ive got an 8% cashback offer through my bank. Ends tomorrow.
Is there likely to be any other offers? Does anyone know what offers they had last year. Tia x

I seem to remember a couple of my friends buying these from boots with a discount code in the summer. iirc boots were doing a general 15% code across the store and it worked on the oura rings too. Might be worth seeing if boots do a code for Black Friday? I’m not sure if they usually do.

Looking for some help!
I want to get the Lego Fierce Dinosaur for a friend's son. It's really only a token gift so £20 full price is a bit much.
It's £15 on Amazon. But also in the 2 for £20 on Argos. His brother is 4 in February so if I could find something for him, it could work out well. Plus I have some nectar points I can use.
The problem is, I cannot see anything nice for the 4 year old. My friend would say he is advanced, so I was thinking for Lego taxi, but is that too much for a 4 year old?
Any other suggestions?

They have record players like this...

You can connect your own speakers if need to be louder or headphones etc...

Reviews look ok if its just for occasional use but better ones have better in built speakers etc.. but are more expensive. There's loads on amazon so worth seeing if they are suitable and the reviews.

As for records if you have an independent record shop near by they are great for advice and picking up bargains- we have 2 in my local town so might be one nearby

I’ve just bought this for my son. Great price thank you. We went to a friends and he was obsessed with the record player there. At this price he can have his own! If he’s really into it we can always upgrade to a more expensive model in a few years. Thanks!

Theres not loads in there. Maybe the chad valley giant road and some hot wheels or the bluey purse or the Lego taxi.

If you know anyone with an American Express Platinum credit card, there’s a £150 statement credit benefit when you spend over £300 at Oura direct.

That will be fine for a 4 year old if they have any interest in Lego - mostly about the concentration needed really to follow the instructions. DS1 was very into Lego and doing 7+ stuff at 4, DS2 no interest at all!

Hello! I’d like to buy my DH an Apple Watch for Christmas and I normally use John Lewis for this sort of thing. I cannot see any offers at the moment (seems to be a rarity on Apple products). Top cashback has 0.5%. Is this likely to be the best I could achieve? Thanks for any advice!

I bought a refurbished one from music magpie and it’s basically like brand new. I’ve been very happy with it and it was a substantial saving.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 05/11/2026 22:05

If anyone please has any recommendations for milk frothers to go with a pod coffee machine I’d love to know!

ideally one that can do cold froth for iced coffee as well as hot.

Bonus points if dishwasher safe. 😊

thank you! 🙏

I haven't been on these threads this year so apologies if this has come up. I'm being chased through Facebook by some colour-in jigsaws - I must have clicked on an ad at some point.

I think the ads I'm seeing are dodgy - they claim to be £19.99 down from £70, but I think they've only ever been £19.99 and not advertised as a sale price before.

The question is really do they even exist in a non-scammy form? I hate Facebook ads.

They look like this... has anyone seen them in the wild?

I bought one of these for the wee girl next door with my p Louise order

Bit limited/niche but I got the train, and at 50p seemed a good wee add on

My 5 year old wants a real camera for Christmas. Can anyone recommend one? We have one that print little pictures, it he is looking for something more grown up. I wondered about camp snap?

feejee · 05/11/2026 23:12

My 12 yr old would like his own fitbit type watch. It needs to have a silent alarm as he uses it to remind him to go different classes at school. It doesnt need to take calls or texts, just simple. He borrows my old Charge 2 currently. Any suggestions of whats out now to fit the bill?

I've seen a lot of Klik cameras around at the minute and they're similar to the Camp Snap ones, though I can't recommend as I've not used one. They look great though, and there's a mystery discount on their website at the moment. It came down to £47 for me.
