Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

@KG1145 thank you so much for the juggling advice. What a cool job to have!
@Raera my daughter has the zip string and she loves it. The pack comes with different length strings. The large one is big but fine in our kitchen/diner. It’s also been used in the garden. It is big enough for a child to step through which is fun. The smaller strings are great too and the strings are easy to change.

Happy to help with any more questions, and yes its a very cool job. My son has asked grandad if we can borrow his tightrope to put up in the living room. Not your usual request 😂

@Raerai haven't seen these before. They look great though, I'm considering one for my son now!

I don’t know if anyone can help, but my DS has randomly requested a ‘skin’ aka leather water bottle. Something like the picture, however I doubt a bargainous one, that is actually safe to drink from will be able to be found!

You could try a bushcraft shop maybe. I looked at the website for Howl Bushcraft who
i have bought things from before, and done a couple of courses with, and they didn't have anything, but that kind of company might be a starting point I guess.

Did anyone that ordered the marshmallow toasting kits actually receive them?

I emailed over a week ago as I hadn’t had any updates and they said most orders from the week I ordered (mid October) would be delivered before the end of last week. Getting close to the end of the following week now and not even a dispatched notice.

CafedelaButte · 05/11/2026 00:09

@InbetweenDreams

I ordered a couple and no I have not received mine either 🧐

Blueflipflops · 05/11/2026 05:36

@InbetweenDreams
@CafedelaButte

I ordered 5 sets on 18/10
I emailed on 1/11 suggesting that this was a scam.

They replied to say…..

I hope you’re well and thank you so much for your order!

I’m so sorry for the slight delay with this being dispatched - please rest assured that the remainder of pre-orders will be dispatched this week.

If there’s anything else I can help with in the meantime, please just let me know.

Please keep an eye out for a dispatch notification in due course 🫶

Please also rest assured you haven’t been scammed - we’re very happy to provide any reassurances to help reduce any concerns.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a kids magic set? I think my 7 year old would love one but it’s not my area of expertise and there are so many choices!

The only thing on his Christmas list so far is Minecoins 🙄 which isn’t going to make a very exciting Christmas morning!

It’s not particularly bargainous, but the Melissa and Doug deluxe magic set is lovely, and the best by far of several kits my DS had.

Good morning all,
I have been AWOL so far this year, but am hopefully now in a place to join in!

Sainsbury's had a lot of Lego at half price yesterday - including some Harry Potter, which will make DD's Christmas.

received mine, probably about a month ago. think they took a couple of weeks to come. of course when they did get to me I realised DD can’t have marshmallows because of her braces - but that’s on me 🤦‍♀️
on an entirely different point, I’d quite like a walking pad, but know nothing about them. does anyone have any recommendations? thanks

Is this the Naked Marshmallow ones? I ordered toasting kits, but earlier, I received them but they were short dated and after the initial response from them, they will not answer, unfortunately I did not raise a dispute with PayPal early enough to make a claim. I will not be using them again!

Bryna · 05/11/2026 07:25

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS
Thank you, I did look at Amazon, however they seem to be more of the ‘dress up’ variety and I’m not sure if they’re actually safe to drink from.

Bryna · 05/11/2026 07:32

@RosesandcrysanthamumsThank you, I’ll have a look at bushcraft shops 😊
@ChocolateteabagThank you, that is indeed lovely, have you used that shop before?

I second the Melissa and Doug one. It's really good. All the tricks work and are really sturdy. I just handed ours on after two kids looking brand new.

Wonderfulstuff · 04/11/2026 20:18

@sparklymistletoe last Christmas the marshmallows sold out (and possibly the Christmas before) so if you want them get them whilst you can. We bought them back in the Spring to avoid last minute stress!

Thank you, I have ordered! I’ve gone with the originals - thanks for the advice all.

I’ve found these, which say they’re both in stock and unavailable 🧐
Could be worth contacting them?
It looks like they use DHL for shipping to the UK and there’s no import charges.

I ordered on 20th September and they arrived on Monday. Mine are all within date. The passion fruit martini ones are BB 1st Jan, but that will be fine. The advent calendar is BB 19th April.
