What’s on your list (if you’re a woman who actually wants stuff)

If you’re the type of woman says “all I want for Christmas is a hug from my children and a single Ferrero Rocher” then that’s absolutely lovely but not what I’m asking. I need ideas for stuff for myself, lovely things I may not have come across, to put on my Christmas list!!

So far I have a voucher for a Margaret Dabbs medical pedicure
A new casserole dish, Le Creuset style
The secret of cooking by Bee Wilson
A little zip up thing to put in my handbag with my essentials

I’d love some really nice knitwear also.
What sort of lovely things are on your lists?

I dont really have a list, but things I've received before that have been wholly appreciated are:
New fluffy socks
Candles
Bubble bath
A new bath rack (bonus points for a wine glass and book holder!)
A voucher for a massage, pedicure or facial.
A nice decorative room diffuser

Although more I think of it, maybe I do need a list. I really want some new slippers and a cosy throw for the sofa!

I'm at that (fortunate) stage in life anything I really need I buy for myself as and when throughout the year (as does hubby) so we only really buy for our daughter at Xmas, so the list above has mostly been from birthdays, anniversaries etc. However my mum buys for me at Xmas, and the last few years she's bought us an experience. Last year she paid for us to do the Squid Games Experience as a family, and it was so much fun!

A nice air wrap hairdryer set I think my hair dryer is like 19 years old

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 23/10/2026 16:09

I’m a woman who needs the things 🙌🏼

Cloud 9 hair straighteners
A new calendar
cashmere socks
chocolate
books
bath stuff
nice skin care (Elemis, Kora)

My birthday is beginning of December so this is my list for both;

Books, I keep a list of books I find during the year and then ask for some of them
a Kobo e-reader
a Moka coffee pot
a calendar, I give some suggestions and the rest is up to DH and DD
Lego flowers

Big hits last year were the two Book Nooks I got. I needed DH to help assembling but I love them and it was nice spending several evenings doing them together.

Does your local library use Libby for digital books? If so, you can borrow them and read them on your Kobo. My Kobo has paid for itself twice over in a year!

I am very much a woman who loves things.

Does anyone else have a real list and a dream list? Both are enjoyable to think about!

Real list would include good books, lovely notepads, new soft PJs, cashmere socks, chocolate, voucher for a SkinRocks facial and some Chanel body cream and hair mist. Maybe another bottle of my favourite perfume, and some candles.

On the dream list would be a copper Bramwell Brown weather clock, a Cartier love bangle, another bangle I fell in love with on holiday, a sauna for the garden and a couple of pieces of art that I can't stop thinking about.

justbecauseyoucandoesntmeanyoushouldx · 23/10/2026 18:17

Following as I'm rubbish at thinking of ideas for myself 😆

I tend to ask for gift cards for places near my office (pret/leon etc) so I can buy myself nice lunches without breaking the bank 😆

GrumbleMint · 23/10/2026 18:20

I now have far more ideas thanks to this thread. Can I ask though, those who put plants onto your lists, is this a general wish list, or a buy-it-for-Christmas list? I have the most beautiful jasmine outside, and would love another for the house or the garden, but worry December is a bad time for a plant?

And yes, fully aware I'm showing I have the opposite of green fingers...

A subscription to The Atlantic
Gold t-bar necklace
Diptyque candle
Moleskine diary

I have asked for a gold watch and a t-bar gold necklace.

Hi, can I ask what brand/shop the gold watch you’re asking for is from please? I’m also looking for one but haven’t found one I love so any inspo would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have only started looking myself tbh. I’ve seen a coach one that I like. I’m not too bothered on brand etc it’s a certain size and look I’m looking for. I would like something petite and classy that I can wear daily.

chillyputsomesockson · 23/10/2026 18:52

Theatre Tokens.. so I can afford book a westend show in the good seats!
Vouchers for a spa near me.
A Neom pod with oils
Kit Heath dangly earrings
a box of M&S chocolate malt balls (not for sharing!)

Yes, that's the plan. I only read historical factual books now as physical ones or I re-read existing books and I try to get away from Amazon.

TheDenimPoet · 23/10/2026 18:57

I love getting books, boxes of chocolates, candles, PJs.. the kind of things that are lovely treats, but I never get for myself.

pennyforthoughtsx · 22/10/2026 11:50

Ugg tazz are on my list every year, a new perfume, skin care (more expensive brands than what I’d get myself!) and then the boring stuff like candles, clothes.

I’ve been cheeky and asked for a solo spa day/night as I’m pregnant and home with an almost 2 year old everyday so I need it!!

Nothing cheeky cheeky about that!!

floopyboop · 23/10/2026 19:08

A voucher for a really nice make up brand - Clarins or YSL or something fancy that I'd never buy for myself. Daisy perfume by Marc Jacobs. I also saw a faux fur coat in Hobbs that I'd literally never have occasion to wear, it's so glam... 1960's rock n roll style... and I want it!! But it may as well be a million quid, so in reality I am asking for a vegan cookbook and some FatFace slippers 🙂

Can’t remember the exact name but the Lush showergel that smells like sticky toffee pudding (date something)
Most of the contents of an amazing gift/jewellery shop down at the harbour!
Tickets for Paddington The Musical
Voucher for a hotel spa day
Fortnum & Mason Enchanted Forest chocolates
0% Christmas pud liqueur ( want that well b4 the big day)
Charbonel et Walker chocolate flakes
Diary
Snowglobe ( again b4 the big day)

Paddington Musical is fabulous - it should be top of your list!

SparkleHorse82 · 23/10/2026 19:34

I love scent so I often put a ridiculously priced wonderful perfume on my list (we’re talking the £150+ ones) because I can rarely justify paying it
myself

erihskreb · 23/10/2026 19:37

Great ideas @DevastatingFinish thank you!

@PeachBlossom1234 @northernbarbie to go with your picks, you might also like one of these spoons for getting them out of the jar without all the liquid https://www.culinaryconcepts.co.uk/polished-knot-olive-spoon

After having been to the Chelsea Flower Show @GrumbleMintwhat I discovered from dedicated growers of specific plants there, is that you can order the size you want whenever, they will cultivate it and then send it to you when it’s the best time for you to plant it, bloody marvellous really.

Oh yes great idea!

My boyfriend is getting me a bag. It’s a very expensive travel bag that is apparently amazing. We go away a few times a year so it would be useful. He has one which is why he suggested I might also like one.
So…I think good presents would be things that you need for upcoming trips or holidays. So travel minis. Or some pyjamas.

Other than that I like an experience voucher. I’ve got him an air BnB night away with a hot tub.

raindroplets75 · 23/10/2026 19:47

I buy my own gifts on his behalf. I’ve already purchased.
So a new Michael Kors handbag with matching purse and wallet that I had my eye on every time I walked past
shark glam multi styler.

hes got himself a switch 2 after the dreaded orange screen on his original switch. I think it’s a fair trade.

unicornsandchocolate · 23/10/2026 19:59

This is my wish list, between birthday and Christmas, although I may not share it with anyone!

Adidas leopards print trainers
New ear pods
Soru earrings
A nice brown belt
Vivi Mari gillet
A cool bucket hat (maybe Rains or Vivi Mari)

minnowonthesay · 23/10/2026 20:19

Good to know @hattie43, thank you. I’ve loved Paddington since I was a child, so I’ll definitely be going, I just need to wait until she’s old enough to go in the evening really, I just can’t justify the matinee prices

Shepherd of Sweden slippers. Oh my days they are amazing!

Estée Lauder skincare (loads of freebies on the website when you make an order at the moment). I'll probably buy this myself.

A ZestyLemons.com carnival candle - the red striped one smells wonderful.

A new insulated water bottle.

jewellery from Cara Tonkin Komorebi range

I really want the Komorebi ring!
