Female mid 50s. No hobbies, tons of money so buys what she likes. Lives a sedentary life so watches tv, eats out, goes to pub. No interest in house or garden. Likes wine and food but doesn’t cook, gets hair, nails and make up done professionally regularly. Doesn’t want any toiletries/beauty things as has so much. Doesn’t read or go out for walks. doesn’t do real life shopping but buys tons of tat online. My budget is only £30 so not in the range of buying a weekend away or anything which would go down well. Can’t buy clothes as wouldn’t want to guess her size (sensitive issue) and only wears real Ugg slippers. I have exhausted every idea I have had and ones from here in the past so any ideas would be very much appreciated!! I can’t not get her anything as it would cause so much drama and upset in an otherwise very happy family. Got her a heated blanket last year for her life on the sofa but she wasn’t impressed. Am stumped! She is a good person but lives a very different life from me! Heeeeeeeelllllllllppp please!

Get her a pub voucher. Plenty of those gift cards cover Greene King Inns and other drinking holes.

A little hamper with a few bits.

A bottle of mulled wine/normal wine
Chocolates/treats of choice
Hand cream
A candle/scented room spray/diffuser
A journal/diary
A calendar for the new year

A walking pad by the sounds of it but would likely go down like a sack of sh*t

Some handmade chocolates from an independent maker, there is bound to be one near you and £25-30 buys a beautiful little box.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · Yesterday 20:05

I second the Cook voucher.

What about a physical gift card in a Christmas card. Some popular ones may be Apple, Google, Amazon, Netflix, Stan and Kayo/Binge.

Last year I bought a similar friend a Keith Brymer Jones hot chocolate mug and some fancy hot chocolate to go with it and she loved it.

Whittards Luxury Hot Chocolate Gift Box (£31) would probably work as well.

Harrods own brand keyring. £15 -£25, there is a variety, I’m keen on a leather peacock one. Looks fancy enough that you’ve made an effort, multi-purpose, no sizing to worry about.

Sounds a bloody depressing and lonely and all around a bit crap life

Really? God, sounds like my dream life 😂

I would get her a restaurant voucher, or a cool
special edition of her favourite tipple or a big box of special Belgium chocolates.

Does she drink spirits? If so, nice bottle of gin, whisky, etc.

Or just bite the bullet and stop exchanging gifts, she'll get over it. If she wants things, she can buy them herself.

What does she buy you?

Vidalbuffay · Yesterday 21:06

Do you need to buy a gift, I’d just suggest no gifts tbh

Would you prefer OP wrapped up a box of antidepressants, slimming magazines and Mounjaro or something?

Everyone's life is their own. The only thing that matters is whether she's happy.

It’s one of those families where it would cause a “massive” drama apparently. Shudder

Cinema or theatre vouchers?

faferandom · Yesterday 21:14

A classic red Chanel nail colour - small, but 100% quality and iconic - will appeal to her snobbery!

faferandom · Yesterday 21:16

Chanel “le vernis” ….from £25 👌👌👌

I think I’d buy some cashmere socks from the white company .

This is a nice idea.

hby9628 · Yesterday 21:26

White company have a 50% sale on. Lots of candles/diffusers etc in your budget

useyournoodle · Yesterday 21:28

Cocktail shaker set with cocktail recipe book. You should be able to bag this for £30 and then you could have fun together experimenting and getting a little tipsy.

A fun present and fun evening all-in-one!

A nice mug? Add tea/coffee/posh biscuits.
Fancy Pen & notebook?
Scarf?
Purse?

I already made suggestions up thread, but what does she get you OP???

sherbetlemonade · Yesterday 21:49

Just buy her a £30 M&S voucher and be done with it.

(speaking as someone who has received more than a lifetime's-worth of candles, diffusers, scarves, posh biscuits, novelty mugs, gloves, alcohol in all its variety)
