Come and join me if you're starting to wonder when the food slots will go live. 👀

Last year the slots were released on Tuesday 23rd September, so they should be coming soon ...

I'm also here for any M&S Xmas food chat. The chocolate pine cones made me very happy last year. 🌲

Place marking

Me and my DD will eat WELL this Christmas

I bought a box of the M&S Big Mix chocolates that have good reviews .'Apart from the Coffee Creams they;re really nice . M&S chocolate is good anyway . The sweets are a ggod size , thick layer of chocolate and shiney wrappers .

I like them too but I really struggle with the lid 🤷

Mine were the carton , I'll look out for the tin/tub next time I'm in.
Maybe the dodgy lid is a deliberate ploy to save us from ourselves Xmas Grin

There was a massive tub display on the way into our food hall today.

Dreaming of Best Ever Yule Log!

We also had a wonderful M&S salmon thing for Xmas Eve last year - maybe Caledonian Gold? Can’t exactly remember the details but it was presented as a side of salmon with something citrusy on top, very easy to prepare and was so delicious.

We liked the side of smoked salmon.....delicious....

Oh yes I think that’s the thing I was trying to remember - dressed with some sort of citrusy glaze? So good.

bigkey2020 · 20/09/2026 08:56

I need to get the chocolate pine cones this year 😍 the best ever rule log was delicious 😋 But I found it hard to get. I went round a few stores before finding it! Really looking forward to hopefully getting it again this year.

HighburyHope · 20/09/2026 12:20

@bigkey2020 I recommend ordering your Best Ever Yule Log nice and early. It sold out online by the end of October last year, although a few were available instore in the run-up to Christmas.

DensityOfAWatermelon · 20/09/2026 19:24

I couldn't work out how to edit my order last year - is there a secret way to do it or are you stuffed if you change your mind?

Seemed straightforward to me (sorry)! But there is a date after which you cannot edit.

bigkey2020 · 20/09/2026 19:46

Thanks Highbury, good idea. Do you know if there is a minimum amount that you need to order online? We usually go to relatives so I won't need too much.

No minimum as far as I can recall. Last year I used it only for a handful of special items rather than a main shop.

samlovesdilys · 20/09/2026 20:21

We had the porcetta last year, was fabulous!!

No minimum number of items, but you have to spend at least £50 to secure the slot. Putting a turkey in the basket and checking out would do it. I'm just going to race in, add a turkey and the choc pinecones. Then I'll check out, go back in and have a browse.

Yep, I'd second this. It was easy to edit the order and the cut-off date is in December. In fact AI said it was the 10 December last year. If you edit it quite close to the cut-off point there might be some items that will have sold out so you might have to go searching in store.

I'm setting the alarm for 6am tomorrow morning (yawn) as I want an early Xmas Eve pick up date. And mine is a busy London shop.

And once that's done the thought of Christmas will exit my head.😊

Some other random thoughts. I really liked the Big Mix tin (much better than Roses or Quality Street). And the shortbread biscuit house tin that lit up.

Why did you prefer the Big Mix? I’m curious as l have really gone off Roses and Quality Street so l need a Christmas replacement

Because they're big tins, full of great tasting chocolate (that you'd expect from M&S) with a nice variety of flavours. I'm sure they have shiny wrappers as well. So similar to Quality Street/Roses in the 'good ol' days.'

I am up ready for midnight to secure my slot!

FusionChefGeoff · 21/09/2026 21:57

We’ve got a brand new Food Hall opening just down the road from us in a few weeks - which is coinciding with us having a new kitchen put in which may or may not be ready for Christmas…

I’m taking this as a most definite sign to pop my M&S Christmas cherry SmileSmile

Didn't realise it goes live at midnight!!

I normally do 7am ish..... Can't wait!

CaffeinatedMum · 21/09/2026 22:17

are they released to certain people first? Only commenting as this popped up in active and now I’m intrigued as I love M&S Christmas food and feel like I need to get involved. I always miss all the good slots for all supermarkets.
