I managed to get all of the gifts for my daughter from a thread like this last year so hoping for ideas again. She never knows what she wants but always loves the expensive popular stuff eg. Longchamp bag, Owala Water bottle, Hollister Clothes etc. but what are those essentials this year ? with a December birthday too it's quite tricky

https://www.dior.com/engb/beauty/products/dior-addict-lip-glow-Y0457000.html

This is always a hit - Dior lip balm and you get free engraving (so you can have her name engraved) it usually comes with free samples and the Xmas gift wrap is very luxurious so feels like a treat.

I have even brought it consistently for friends birthdays, so not limited just to teens.

Edit to add, the offer for free engraving is usually around October/November time.

The popular skincare and cosmetics are still Summer Fridays, Rhode, Glossier, Laneige lip masks and Glow Hub

All of the following aren’t as expensive as you’d think they’d be:
Nike Pro leggings
Lululemon Everywhere crossbody bag
Sweetly Betty sports socks
iets frans canvas tote bag
Tommy sliders
Kitsch satin pillowcase

Other gift ideas without a label:
Make up fridge
UV nail lamp and semi-cured gel nail wraps (from MoYou or Holy Nails)
Hair turban

Make up bags from The Flay Lay Co are popular.
My dd also likes accessories (esp phone cases) from Skinnydip and Coconut Lane.

Could you expand her horizons a little , buy her experience days or similar?

I could have written the OP down to the December birthday!

White Fox is definitely out this year and Stanley cups seem a tad over done.

i have seen Longchamp bags mentioned but im not sure if they are overdone (already!).

The problem is this stuff is so expensive and it’s so easy to get it wrong. I love threads like this as it helps navigate the very fine line between ‘just right’ and ‘shoved in a box never to be seen again’.

If she is a fan of p.louise skincare and makeup there's great bundle deals on their website, and the mystery boxes are really good too. I ordered the medium one at £30 and one of the items (I think 5 or 6 in total for the medium box) was an eyeshadow pallet worth £45 alone. It was really worth the money spent.

P.louise is starting to be seen as more of a tween thing now.

I came on to say about the Dior gifts too , they are beautifully packaged and were a huge hit with my older granddaughters, also there’s a site called Bridal Beauty that sell some amazing skincare kits at not bad prices they range from skincare, makeup and hair care products . Coming in a cute drawstring bag and from about £20 there’s a lot to choose from .

Not sure about that! My daughter is in Y8 and she still loves the brand as do her friends! They are still all obsessed 🤣
They have a fab bundle on Tik Tok shop at the minute. An Obsessed for Less, Bad B and Body Mist for just £20 so 6 products in total x

Year 8 is age 12 (for most in September)…. Literally the definition of a tween.

My year 9 daughter just got some for her friends but she did say they are kinda outgrowing it now in favour of more mature brands

Ohhh following!!

The ASOS advent calendar looks to have a really good mix of all the teen favourite brands this year for £98 (although I know some people got it for 20% off but I can't get any discount codes to work on it anymore).

Also consider the Ralph Lauren children's store in Bicester Village - I got my teen's knitted jumpers from there a few years ago at much reduced prices, which she adores. The RL children's size XL is the equivalent of XS/S size in adults.

Only just! I think of tweens as 8-11 year olds! Primary school aged kids! ☺️
Anyway, I know what you are all saying as my 12 year old has also asked for other brands such as Summer Fridays, etc! Quite pricey though so I am hoping she will like Plouise for a bit longer! 😂

DD is 18, but a curve case definitely makes the list, as do Charlotte tilbury sets.
