For those of us lucky enough to receive presents, did you get anything nice? We all rally around our kids as we should, but what about you.
I got 5 new books, 2 charms for my bracelet, a travel coffee mug, and a switch game I’ve been wanting for a while - yes I’m one of those 30 somethings who enjoys playing 😀what did you get?

I got a few lovely presents from my DTs but my favourite was a card from DT1 who has had a bit of an emotional year , relationship wise and came to me on many occasions with his woes.
He said in his card that he was lucky to have me and thanked me for putting up with him all year!
Made me cry!

Three new pairs of PJs, some Care Bear lounging bottoms, fancy bubble bath, some chocs, a running vest and bottle, running socks, Moomin Stanley cup, new bra, some normal socks, scented candle, some earrings, and a top. Delighted with my haul!

Oh and £300!

Edited

Ooh, I love Care Bears! Where did the jammie bottoms come from, plse?

SpicyMargarita1 · 26/12/2025 02:02

Love all these grown up women getting Snoopy, Lego and colouring books 😄 !

SpicyMargarita1 · 26/12/2025 02:08

Very happy with my pressies this year:

Made in Roma perfume
Kikki K notebooks
Pandora charm
Blue Zones cookbook.

I see a few MN’ers didn’t get any presents because they’re alone. And a few who got presents that for whatever reason are unsuitable. Is it possible that we could arrange for unwanted gifts to be sent to people who don’t have any?

A really fabulous emerald and diamond cocktail ring, some fancy perfumes, a huge and fabulous bouquet of flowers, a couple of beauty treatments. I am very grateful!

Ooooh, need photos of the ring!

I got a fabulous stash this year. Main gifts from DH is a whippy ice cream and slushie maker and a diamond pendant and matching earings in white gold and sapphire and diamond earrings in yellow gold to match a necklace and ring I already have. Stocking gifts included a long sleeved top with a cat tangled in fairy lights, a cat jigsaw puzzle, a cookery book, a metal water bottle, memory foam seat pad for when I sit for hours watching the cricket, a little flask, a new washbag, a heated back pad as my old one had broke, Malteasers, QS creams, black gloves, Aussie leave in hair conditioner, black hoodie, an enormous box of flakes and treats ice cream sauces and cones. Ice cream mix and a beautiful huge arrangement of fresh flowers from my DD which I had 2 weeks ago when I saw her. I'm feeling very lucky and happy.

Can we see jewellery pics, pretty please??

I got some wonderful bits.

a Stanley cup that’s more mug sized in a gorgeous muted pinky-taupe colour that’s perfect for coffees on office days.
a beautiful infinity knot necklace.
a velvet jewellery box.
lots of little bits like chocolate and socks in my stocking
a medical suture practice kit (I am not a medic but like to believe I’m a surgeon so this is a brilliant joke from DH that I’m actually going to have a lot of fun with)
a book about how to be prepared for anything (evading a shark, escaping quicksand etc) and also on how to start a cult - both will undoubtedly feed into each other in my future career plans 🤣

all in all, absolutely bloody lovely.

andIsaid · 26/12/2025 02:58

I got a beautiful diamond necklace that I have wanted for years. DH got it at an auction in September.

The workmanship is stunning - there is a lot of filigree but done in such a way that it is not at all busy. There are six large stones that sit along the collar bones, followed by smaller stones that wrap around the neck.

It was amazing to open the package as I did not expect it at all. The package, and the box actually, implied something everyday but nice. So, when I opened the lid - WOW. Then, I bloody well woke up...

Got myself a second-hand vintage Eighties Care Bear, bc it makes my inner child happy. There was a new one in its box for 100 pounds, but this one is in fabulous condition - couldn't really be better - and cost 22 pounds. He's SO soft! And he's been washed and smells all clean. I love him!

What did you get for Christmas?

Inextremis · 26/12/2025 05:17

Two Molton Brown shower gels (different ones), 5 intricate adult colouring books, a set of Posca pens, a watercolour painting set, a big box of bath bombs, a large box of Inktense watercolour pencils, and a mini kettle drum thing. I am delighted with everything, and feel very lucky :)

Crwysmam · 26/12/2025 05:43

I collect second hand silver jewellery so have added a few pieces to my collection. DH generally just pays for it because I have very exacting taste and he will buy me pieces as and when I see them. My late DM had a collection of Ola Gorie pieces I inherited and I found a lovely pendant that she had but it went to my DSis, so was delighted to find one. I could have bought a brand new one but I liked the idea that it was the same age as the one my DM had. I also like the idea of recycling jewellery that is often far better quality than the mass produced items available.

Isabelle70 · 26/12/2025 06:39

I received from my DS, DD and future son in law, lots of really lovely and useful items. Real silk pillowcase, car aerial, socks, book, quilting and sewing supplies, garden hoe, slippers and screwdriver.
I put the pillowcase on last night so am hoping I wake up looking 5 years younger today!

Cash seems such a strange gift for adults.

I got some cash and vouchers.
They are for specific items that aren't available until January 1st.
So not that strange.

Yuja · 26/12/2025 09:00

I got some books, a lovely jumper from DH that he chose himself, some boots from my DM. My DC bought me a body lotion/smellies set which whilst I wouldn’t have picked, I am delighted with because they actually chose and paid for something themselves for the first time. I’m happy!

Mintyhotchocolate · 26/12/2025 09:02

Everyone has had lots of lovely things!

I got: a leather satchel, bottle of Ealing gin, the last of the his dark materials/book of dust series, book about politics, colourful jumper, lord of the rings board game and a stocking with chocolate, gin miniatures and a notebook from DH. DS13 got me a special fan head joint for my flute and DS5 got a blue cuddly penguin (which he seems to have kept 😂) and a lovely cat necklace - the kids choose their own gifts for us and it’s lovely to see what they come up with.

My DM and DSD got me a scarf, tote bag and some toiletries I like. My in laws went with a little hamper from M&S for me and DH to share.

I feel very lucky and had a lovely day.
