DS7 away with the world but DS10, who still seems to believe, still awake and can’t get to sleep with all the excitement. I am desperate to do Santa and get to bed !!!!

Sat nursing a cup of tea trying to stay awake! I have a cat on my lap that has a) Gone Long and b) Gone Heavy so I'm very close to having a danger nap on the couch.

PennyLaneisinmyheartandmysoul · 24/12/2025 23:11

Same!! Just know they’ll run down half way through the finishing off stuff bit!

I had an hour danger nap on the sofa at 9:30 with a dog on my lap, now wide awake 🤣
Still waiting for eldest DD to fall asleep

thishouseisashittip · 24/12/2025 23:14

Yeah, mine are 14 and 25🤣 so have just filled and dumped their stockings back in their rooms and gone to bed (they are still up gaming )

ShodAndShadySenators · 24/12/2025 23:18

Mine is 17 and will be awake long, long after I'm out for the count. I've put his stocking down in the living room now and pondered how much easier it would have been if I'd done that from the start, instead of hanging it on his door handle...

cadburyegg · 24/12/2025 23:20

Thank god I’m not the only one !!!!

A cup of tea is a good idea. Might do that now

Let’s hope ds7 doesn’t wake up at 3am like last year …

YES!

ChristmasIsComingVerySoon · 24/12/2025 23:22

Ten year old will not fall asleep... I'm going to have to start lying when they ask the time as they're expecting Santa at 12 (they don't want to see them but will be worried Santa won't come if they're awake...)

user1476613140 · 24/12/2025 23:23

18yo and 15yo still up and about 🙄

Jingleasfaraspossible · 24/12/2025 23:23

Yep, DTs are 28 and still awake… so annoying… I’ve gone to bed and sent Dh out to check, but he says they are still awake… and I know it’s not long til I’ll be having to wake them up to tell them Father Christmas has been…

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 24/12/2025 23:24

Both my daughters are waiting for their eldest daughters to fall asleep 🤣

Were using group chat to pass the time.

ThatCalmFinch · 24/12/2025 23:25

14 year old DD still awake, want to try and sneak her stocking in after she falls asleep.

user1476613140 · 24/12/2025 23:25

10yo and 8yo asleep around 8pm. They're always awake early!

Is it normal for 10yo DC to still be a believer?

daffodilandtulip · 24/12/2025 23:26

My 19yo just started coming down the stairs and I was like "Don't You Dare Take Another Step" 🤣

FatLarrysBanned · 24/12/2025 23:28

15yo DD has gone to bed and asked that I leave her stocking on her door handle.

She'll be in with me around 7am to open it, wrapping paper all over the bed and checking I've remembered to put a satsuma in the toe. My favourite part of the day. Just the two of us like she was 5 again.

I used to go to bed, set an alarm and commando crawl my way in and out of her room with it, then do the tree presents.

Those of you with little ones, I feel for you, tomorrow is the longest of days!

Allbymyself123 · 24/12/2025 23:29

Yes! 15 year old won’t settle which is fine but youngest are 11 (one doesn’t believe one does but i don’t think fully) last year of this up to 2am nonsense! Son set an alarm for 8 as well! If they are not settled in next half hr santa isn’t fucking coming!

Jellycatspyjamas · 24/12/2025 23:30

My two are still awake, pretending to be asleep. I’ve hung their stockings on their bedroom door handles and taken myself to bed with the dog.

DeathMetalMum · 24/12/2025 23:40

Dp took stockings in about half an hour ago, which is an improvement on last year, I took them in about 12.30 am when my phone alarm woke me. Dc were also awake at 4.30am making a lot of noise, they were 11&13 last year so that was quite unexpected. We have said we are not getting up before 6.30 tomorrow.

CantBreathe90 · 24/12/2025 23:41

You're all very committed staying up for children who no longer believe!! I'm sure they'll forgive you if you put the stockings elsewhere 😂

Mine are 3 and 5 and fully asleep. They left milk and pickled gherkins out for Santa though, which was disappointing.

Awishcometrue · 24/12/2025 23:44

My 3yr old twins woke up 20 minutes ago after being asleep since 7, I'm right in the middle of setting presents out and prepping veg , hosting dinner for 10 tomorrow...to say I'm stressed doesn't come close 😫

CurlewKate · 24/12/2025 23:58

Yes! They’re watching TV with Baileys and I don’t know when I’ll be able to do stockings! They are 25 and 29, though……

feathers7 · 25/12/2025 00:11

21, 18 & 15 yr olds here. I’m going to do the stockings in the morning. There’s no way they will be up before me!

LunchtimeNaps · 25/12/2025 00:11

My 9 and 11 year old are awake. Think 11 year old still believes. At leaves she towing the party line at the moment. I'm shattered. I just want to go to bed but the presents are in the car boot and both of the kids bedrooms are at the front. Maybe a nap on the sofa to bide my time.

Toseland · 25/12/2025 00:13

Mid to late teens here so I'm going to bed and doing it in the morning as I'll be up first!
