Making vouchers with ChatGPT

My niece always asks for money to go sales shopping. I usually write in her card that I'll transfer some money and hope she finds some bargains. This year I asked chatgpt 'create a banknote style voucher for' £50 in your bank account to go sales shopping ' and had this a couple of minutes later. I've downloaded so can print it and include in her card but I guess I could also have sent in a text.

I love the extra dimension this gives, thought I'd mention it in case anyone is out of time to buy and needs to give a homemade voucher.

The 2nd is part of a running joke with dsis but again took a simple prompt and a couple of minutes to do.

Huh ? I think it’s a good idea 👍

What is wrong with you?

ImaginaryHorse · 22/12/2025 13:35

Bloody hell, what happened to just writing out your own little vouchers for things like that?

Each to their own I suppose but I'd just cringe at giving anything I'd used AI to create.

Why??

tigerbear · 22/12/2025 13:37

I actually think this is a great idea! Thanks OP! 👍

BitOutOfPractice · 22/12/2025 13:38

I spent a most enjoyable afternoon on canva yesterday designing various vouchers. I really enjoyed it! Lots of templates to use on there and I think they look better than the OP’s.

ohtowinthelottery · 22/12/2025 13:40

Having spent ages, in previous years, trying to design vouchers on Word with my limited IT skills, I think this is brilliant.

What is wrong with you?

It’s lazy, contributing to the death of the planet and frankly looks awful. You’re not giving a gift with any thought behind it. You’re just giving computer generated slop.

Talkingtomyhouseplants · 22/12/2025 13:43

You don’t need to be part of the problem OP.

TheCurious0range · 22/12/2025 13:43

I made one for DS' phoenix subscription, much better than my old paint efforts.

😆😆😆 do you need a nap?

We’re giving dd a hamster. She will want the excitement of choosing it so we’ve made her a voucher. Much more personal than cash 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you made it? Or made chathpt generate one?

cantbearsed27 · 22/12/2025 14:03

Very cute OP, I love that. I wish this sort of thing had been around when I was on the committee at nursery/PTA, making posters would have been 1000 times easier!

What would be the less lazy option? Writing it yourself on a piece of paper? Is that considered better? I don't get how it's lazy.

ComedyGuns · 22/12/2025 14:09

This is total cringe - DO NOT give it to your niece!!

It’s so obviously AI and something hand-written in a normal, thoughtfully chosen card would be so much better.

Maybe not everyone has a whole afternoon to dedicate to that.

Why’s everyone being so miserable. I think it’s a lovely idea.

A thoughtfully chosen card that may well have been mass produced using AI?
