Making vouchers with ChatGPT

My niece always asks for money to go sales shopping. I usually write in her card that I'll transfer some money and hope she finds some bargains. This year I asked chatgpt 'create a banknote style voucher for' £50 in your bank account to go sales shopping ' and had this a couple of minutes later. I've downloaded so can print it and include in her card but I guess I could also have sent in a text.

I love the extra dimension this gives, thought I'd mention it in case anyone is out of time to buy and needs to give a homemade voucher.

The 2nd is part of a running joke with dsis but again took a simple prompt and a couple of minutes to do.

I'm baffled by people who think they can in some way stop the progress of AI by refusing to use it and sneering at those who do. Good luck 🤞🏼

Blimey the fun sponges are out in force this afternoon!!
I think it looks good op and I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.

Have you made it? Or made chathpt generate one?

copilot (and I manage a design team 🤷🏻‍♀️😆). It still takes time, just less time. I’ve spent plenty of time on my three dc gifts and it took more time than buying dd3 an iPad on the John Lewis website.

I’m with you - managing a creative team, we have to embrace it!

Having spent ages, in previous years, trying to design vouchers on Word with my limited IT skills, I think this is brilliant.

Haha same! I use canva now and cringe at my Word ones. But it was all we had at the time!

I haven’t tried copilot for anything like this yet. Is it worth a go?

So no, you’ve not made it.

lazy.

Thank you, it's a great idea. It always makes me laugh how some people are scared of technology!! Ignore the MN snobs.

You realise you have to give copilot instructions?

Love the “lazy” comment. Organising Christmas for 3 teens, working full time and have just completed a masters… saying using copilot is lazy is akin to saying using adobe illustrator is lazy because I didn’t get my paint brush out 😆 AI is a tool. Why wash by hand when you can use a washing machine? It’s not lazy, just an effective use of time.

Typing in a quick instruction isn’t the same as making it.

Hit and miss on the free version. It’s much better at writing than it was 6 months ago (I have thrown a strategy doc in and asked for a launch article for internal news and I only made a couple of tweaks - had to begrudgingly admit it did a good job). It’s terrible at presentations.

Brilliant idea.. I’m doing one for my DS who is 20 and who will be really pleased I have embraced AI to do it

Flinderskleepers · 22/12/2025 15:11

With the exception of 'does pineapple belong on a pizza' and 'how do you pronounce scone', I have never seen such a 50:50 split of responses to something so benign.

MyKindHiker · 22/12/2025 15:22

I think it looks way better than a handwritten note

How much effort would you deem suitable for it not to be lazy - how much time for the design would be necessary to demonstrate my love through effort? I mean, I could get away with no voucher - she’s 14 and the massive hamster cage will be quite a clue 😆

what about the other 2 dc who aren’t getting an iou type voucher? Buying their gifts online took minutes 🤷🏻‍♀️

Being told it’s lazy to use Copilot to design a voucher - when I don’t even have to do a voucher so it’s additional effort but faster to use AI than design in illustrator. I think there’s real confusion what lazy means and I take offence to being called it.
