Mon 22nd but it is just for fresh veg as we already have everything else (we are veggie).
Going to walk down as the carparking is going to be a nightmare but with so little to get, the bags will be manageable to carry.

Bunfighter · 15/12/2025 18:21

I like to go on the 23rd. I've got everything then ready to prep xmas eve morning and then have time for a nice walk on the afternoon.

TheMorgenmuffel · 15/12/2025 18:41

Delivery booked for the 23rd.

Biggles27 · 15/12/2025 18:49

Ocado on 23rd, morning so if missing anything I can dash to Sainsbury’s!

JBJ · 15/12/2025 18:58

Picking up the meat from M&S on the 23rd and got a Morrisons delivery on the 24th. Hoping there’s no missing items!

TidyDancer · 15/12/2025 18:59

Ocado coming on the evening of the 23rd. Working on Christmas Eve but finishing early and coming home past a couple of supermarkets so if I need anything extra I’ve got options. Not going to panic though, shops aren’t closed for long enough for it to be a problem.

CrossiantsForBreakfast · 15/12/2025 19:06

Christmas Eve her too (except turkey which is in freezer)

Lookingforwardto2025 · 15/12/2025 19:12

Waitrose coming on the 22nd. Collecting M&S food to order on 23rd.

Thissideof40 · 15/12/2025 19:12

I have a Tesco delivery on 21st. I wanted 22nd or 23rd but slots were gone. I can’t face going in store as it’s a nightmare round that time.

LoopyGremlin · 15/12/2025 19:23

First thing on 23 Dec. Then I plan to return home and get into my PJs for a chilled day of tv!

chattyness · 15/12/2025 19:28

Already got meat some veg and sweeties, Tesco delivery due in 19th will shop local after that for any last minute forgotten & fresh bits

Doje · 15/12/2025 19:32

I've been collecting for a couple of weeks! First wine, then beer a week later, then crisps, nibbles and crackers. Tomorrow I've got prep ahead stuff as I've got Wednesday and Thursday booked as annual leave. The turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and veg arrive next Monday. Enough time to be able to drop into the local shops if something goes wrong with the delivery. I'll also pop into the local deli for cheeses a couple of days before Christmas itself.

We're hosting this year and the idea of a week's worth of food for 18 people showing up in one delivery was too overwhelming!

TheOpalReader · 15/12/2025 19:34

I've got my meat ordered and due to pick up on the 23rd. I'll do a weekly shop on the 22nd I think. There's only the two of us this year so I'll just need veg and a pudding. Then the rest of the shop will be the usual weekly items.

Even when there's more of us I still do it roughly the same, I try not to buy a load of snacks (I'll just end up eating them between Christmas and New year) and we don't have a starter.

Harrysmummy246 · 15/12/2025 19:36

As much as possible coming in this thursday's delivery on dates. We're then away til mon so I have to brave a click and collect from sainsbury's for shorter date stuff on 23rd

snugasabug75 · 15/12/2025 19:45

Just finished my online Asda shop now. Bet half of it doesn't come though 🤔last year I was substituted cheddar cheese with orange juice, and the year before ONE Brussel sprout instead of a cabbage.....

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 15/12/2025 19:49

Sainsbury’s click and collect on the 22nd then collections from the butchers, deli and bakery on Christmas Eve .

Mich1986 · 15/12/2025 19:52

Sesma · 15/12/2025 19:53

Sainsbury's on the 20th, Waitrose on the 24th

gingercat02 · 15/12/2025 19:55

Normal shop booked for Saturday 20, actual Christmas food order booked for lunchtime Christmas Eve.

Bellyblueboy · 15/12/2025 19:55

Tesco delivery 23rd, marks and Spencer (turkey and Boxing Day beef) Christmas Eve.

Run30 · 15/12/2025 19:56

Sunnyside4 · 15/12/2025 14:39

I've bought all non perishable items in advance. Planning to go on 23rd, that way we've got an extra day if something isn't available.

Same.

gingercat02 · 15/12/2025 19:58

farmlass · 15/12/2025 17:18

Click and collect on 22nd after an early work finish .
Not done that before but it’s only 5 mins out of my way home .
Going to start doing it once a fortnight from the New Year .
£2 for someone else to do the shopping .
Why haven’t I done it before ?

You can make it even cheaper with a delivery pass.

FurForksSake · 15/12/2025 20:00

The ham I’ve already acquired
sprouts, carrots and potatoes are blanched / par boiled and in the freezer
stuffing balls made and frozen along with red cabbage, Yorkshire’s and the gravy.

turkey, sausage meat and pigs in blankets are being collected on 23rd

m&s desserts and pork pie also 23rd

Ocado also delivering 23rd, but if it goes missing we’ll survive!

5foot5 · 15/12/2025 20:02

Most of the meat is already in the freezer and the cake and pudding are made. We also have stocked up on wine so most of the drink is sorted.

I will get the rest of the non-perishables on Friday 19th and then just nip out for the fruit and veg and so on on the 23rd

Fupoffyagrasshole · 15/12/2025 20:02

My husband goes around midnight the big Sainsbury’s around the 23rd usually - place is dead and it’s bliss to walk around - plus they are always restocking so you can always get what you want

we have Aldi on the doorstep too so go there one night too when it’s quiet

can’t remember last time either of us has been in a supermarket when it’s busy we always go late when kids in bed.
