Thread 20 - the one with Christmas?

Reastie · 11/12/2025 17:59

I'm taking a punt that this one might see us until Christmas. Will likely live to be proved wrong but let's go with the punt!

The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Also, thanks for those who gave me ideas for Pusheen- I got a donut plush from HMV (last Pusheen thing in store) and a Pusheen water bottle from Claires for only £7, nothing in Miniso.

I ordered some badges, a poster book and some stickers on Amazon and now on the hunt for a tee but think I'm just going to order the Next one to be on the safe side.

Next request .....craft sets for a 9year old that isn't too messy?! I was hoping for sand art but the stuff in Amazon all feels too childish.

Not especially cheap, but Djeco or Janod do sand art kits for older ages, in lots of elegant designs:
Fairies sand art
Glitter butterflies
Unicorns under £10

They fairly low mess, they peel off numbered stickers for each colour and can use the lid as a tray to keep the sand/ glitter contained.

Glitter Fairies

Djeco Glitter Fairies lets kids create their own sparkly fairy world. Peel off the numbered sections of the semi-illustrated boards to reveal sticky areas beneath, then sprinkle the right colour of glitter over the section before smoothing over with th...

I have been looking at these on Amazon - sorry can't link, Skillmatics Poke-in Art

There are lots of Skillmatics craft kits that look a bit different though!

Hi does anyone have an Argos code pls im about to spend £300 !

My Sweetzy order has arrived and whilst it’s good value for money I’m a little disappointed that the drink in the bundle is an energy drink so unsuitable for kids. And the 1kg bag is just the small blue fizzy bottles.

What did you buy from them? Did you get the bundle with the baubles and crackers? If so you had to choose your items for the 500g bag so it's a bit odd if you've ended up with all blue fizzy bottles!

Also, mine didn't have an energy drink so perhaps I got a different bundle to you.

SharonMack17 · 17/12/2025 12:47

If anyone is looking for a dry robe;
Two Bare Feet have adult and kids dryrobes on offer.
Adults at £49 plus a £10 discount with code FESTIVE10 to bring them down to £39. I don't have their dry robe but do have other things of theirs (their swimming costume wetsuits are amazing!)

44PumpLane · 17/12/2025 12:53

Thank you everyone who has commented on craft kits- this is genuinely such a helpful thread!!

The Klutz kits are brilliant and I think I'll get her an air dry clay or shrinkies, I'm going to get a poke in art for a friend's little girl and the links you sent @HerInfiniteVariety are brilliant! I've put the Fairies one into my basket as she will absolutely love that!

Thanks all ❤️

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced mans Santa suit please to dress up xmas morning? many thanks

Famousthehero · 17/12/2025 13:24

A quick thank you - I didn’t realise my Yoto referral had been used!

I just noticed that the first 3 Wings of Fire books have been released on Yoto; my daughter is mad for them so I had to get them even though they’re not in Yoto Club - but with all my saved points and the referral I got them for free instead of £25! A Christmas miracle - thank you referral fairies :-)

My Fahlo bracelets just arrived! (Ordered 21st November). They are lovely but fit me perfectly so might be too small for my brothers!

I also was able to choose what went in my bag. I was confused to start with so you may have selected the blue fizzy for the whole bag by mistake.
