Thread 20 - the one with Christmas?

I'm taking a punt that this one might see us until Christmas. Will likely live to be proved wrong but let's go with the punt!

The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Thank you to the PP who mentioned about getting the discounted Haul items for local homeless shelters etc. I run a "boutique" at our local foodbank and we are always in need of mens pants and socks. I added these to my last Haul order and also asked for mens pants as a sockshop freebie so now I have some ready to hand out to the next few men in need.

I've purchased one 🥳

I had the same issue recently and sent an email to cs with a screenshot and they refunded the delivery charge

Thank you. I emailed them earlier, and hope for the same result.

I can’t remember who recommended https://sweetzy.co.uk/, but thank you. I am very impressed with what I received and how quickly it arrived. I ordered on Sunday and received my items today.

I used the code FIRSTTIMER to get 25% off.

Can I just say a big massive thanks to @Reastie @RainbowZebraWarrior and everyone on these threads xx
This year is the first year ever that I haven't come screeching into mid-December disgruntled and disorganised and having to resort to Amazon prime to get ill-thought-out presents at the last minute.
Thanks to all of you, I've got presents that people will like, I've paid for most of them via Klarna as I started early, and I am feeling very relaxed and festive.
It sounds cheesy but these threads have really helped to make my Christmas this year XXX

That's so lovely. Hopefully Reastie has seen your post, too. I reckon we might need one more (probably quite quiet) thread, then I'm looking forward to the bargain prequels with Sideorderofchips I've just started wrapping today and it's not until I do this that I realise most of my gifts has come from recommendations here, so thanks all from me too. 😊

BeeKeeping · 16/12/2025 14:47

Many thanks from me also- this is my first year following along and it has led to some bargains and much more organization than most years. Haven’t started wrapping yet…. But I think I’ve finished buying (almost).

Does anyone remember the bargain snowman snood that just required paying postage? I’ve scrolled and scrolled and can’t find it.

My college has just gifted me a lovely pot of Christmas hyacinths but now I need to get him something in return! He’s a keen cyclist and I thought that the snowman snood would make him smile 😀

Thanks for all of the good suggestions and good vibes

Hive mind I need your help - every year we play a bizarre version of pass the parcel which involves all the members of the family and becomes fiercely competitive. I need to find something preferably barginous to put in the middle that is going to be suitable for either sex and the age range is 19- 79. Want to avoid gift cards or sweets. Suggestions please

ExhaustedHousewife · 16/12/2025 15:34

BeeKeeping it's called the notreallyhere shop.edited to add the code for £10 off was TOUR2026WINTER but I don't know if its still working.

BrightWolf · 16/12/2025 15:35

Can anyone help me with ideas please? I have Amazon prime and am going real life shopping this evening. Any websites that can deliver before Christmas also an option.
Lady in late 80s. Very glam, loves makeup, jewellery etc but budget is £5-£10 so can’t think of a decent gift.
Lady in mid 60s. Also into make up/perfume/jewellery etc. Budget £10-£20.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Leafywool · 16/12/2025 15:39

Molang blind bags in The Works for the poster who was looking for Molang stuff! Got one for my dd stocking. They also had some figures in The Entertainer for £10 each but they were fairly small.

IlovePond · 16/12/2025 15:53

@cymrumam - how about one of these:

Costa mug and hot chocolate /coffee
Olive oil
Xmas mug
Neutral coloured scarf
Xmas biscuits

CarrotVan · 16/12/2025 15:54

@BrightWolf the Boots £10 Tuesday offers might be good

https://www.boots.com/tuesday-offer

The Liz Earle skin tonic is lovely, there’s a No7 lip and cheek make up set etc

CarrotVan · 16/12/2025 15:56

What’s the budget @cymrumam?

cymrumam · 16/12/2025 16:01

CarrotVan · 16/12/2025 15:56

What’s the budget @cymrumam?

Up to about £15 and needs to be not fragile as it will get thrown

IlovePond · 16/12/2025 16:04

@BrightWolf

At Boots there is the Max Factor Lip Glaze bundle for £10 or the Milani lipstick - both get good reviews.

For the £15-20 gift, you could get a Mac Mini lipstick for £15 or a Sculpted by Aimee lip balm for £16.

Long hot water bottle? £10 at Boots today and you could roll it up so harder to guess if that’s part of the game.

Something from the Lego Botanicals range?

IlovePond · 16/12/2025 16:10

@cymrumam - so all of my suggestions apart from the scarf are out 😹😹😹 Sounds like a fun game!

How about:

Unisex woolly hat
Hand and foot warmers
Microwaveable hottie
Xmas cushion

Londonmummy66 · 16/12/2025 16:24

Has anyone seen a nice wreath that I could order to come quickly. We have builders in and can't seem to locate some of our stuff in the storage unit?

Bryna · 16/12/2025 16:48

Sasha07 · 15/12/2025 19:08

@PlanBea I googled Funny Dom out of curiosity... The search results didn't find dominoes... Maybe some games more for kinky adults than domino playing kiddos 😁 I'd rather have found a square headed robot shooting eternal rainbows 🌈 🤖 sorry, not much help to your cause but I did find a 90s track called Domino Express/Domino Rally and found a glow in the dark one on eBay? Haven't read the details but the bashed box could have been a present that fell off Santa's sleigh 😁 (sorry if that's completely different to what you need, was just curiously having a look to see what a track was) oh, also a cheaper vintage daredevil one!

That’s a blast from the past! This is the exact one I had as a child! (Glow in the dark)

Annie1290 · 16/12/2025 16:54

Also looking for suggestions…2 couples, both mid-late twenties with no children. £20ish budget. Previously done the marshmallow toasting kits and a board game.

Now that Rosemount has closed for Christmas, any recommendations for custom glasses cloths?

I ordered from there 4 days ago not realising it was closed until after Christmas until checkout but my item has arrived today without any email saying it was on its way! No sign of my Sweetzy order placed at same time though only order confirmation...

Bit of a random one, I need to buy a “luxury” food gift for a diabetic, any ideas??

Nuts, Pate, Cheese are all low carbon. I'd avoid anything named Diabetic as its probably full of sweeteners
