Thread 20 - the one with Christmas?

I'm taking a punt that this one might see us until Christmas. Will likely live to be proved wrong but let's go with the punt!

The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Does anyone have a code for Seasalt they would be willing to share? I was a blue light member and work for the services but it has lapsed. Would love to buy my lovely mum some bits but not minded to pay full price given they have great offers so often.

If you have Sparks at M&S check your offers. It's showing 30% off Seasalt for me. Sorry I can't transfer it as it's only relevant to my account.

Now that Rosemount has closed for Christmas, any recommendations for custom glasses cloths?

I used Mugzandstuffbyalan on etsy last year and was really pleased with the cloth and service.

Trotula · 15/12/2025 21:48

Good discounts in H&M and used my £5 off for recycling clothes and free delivery!

DS (4) went to see Santa yesterday and confidently asked him for a robot, a marble run and dominoes. Only the marble run was on his actual list! I thought I was done but now scrabbling.

The robot "has a square head" and shoots rainbows that stay in the sky forever 🙃 I've explained Santa didn't have that kind of magic. If someone knows of a good robot for that age with a square head that isn't spendy please let me know!

For dominoes, he played with mine from the 90s that came on a track, so they were easy to set up and knock down. I don't think these are a thing any more (they were called funny dom according to my mum) but perhaps one of those trains that sets up dominoes again if anyone has any recommendations? Thanks!

I got one from Amazon. Sorry I don't know how to do links but it is a Vatos RC Robot. It has a square head but no rainbows. It is inter active though. Can't comment on quality as it is a present from Santa yet to be opened.

Can anyone remember the silver reindeer necklace from LillyCharmed that was an absolute MN bargain in 2023? And does anyone have a photo of it? I can't find it and I can't remember if that's because I gave it to DD and she doesn't know what she's looking for. Repeatedly saying a reindeer has not aided her in the search. Gmail has helpfully removed the photo from the confirmation email (onn12/12/23) and won't let me view it.

IlovePond · 15/12/2025 22:09

@BuoyedWithOptimisticIgnorance was it this one?

Oh deer 🦌 😹now I want a reindeer necklace!

BuoyedWithOptimisticIgnorance · 15/12/2025 22:11

No, although I have advanced searched on here and found it.

Still can't find it in my house though!

£11.90 delivered - now that was a bargain.

Crosspost @BuoyedWithOptimisticIgnorance !

I hope it turns up🤞

fruitfly3 · 15/12/2025 22:17

You’re all wonderful - Seasalt haul purchased with a £40 discount. Thank you so much

CoffeeAndEnnui · 15/12/2025 22:40

Not strictly a bargain, but bargain-adjacent, as you get some lovely extras that aren't available elsewhere. For those buying Carolina Herrera's Good Girl, La Bomba or other CH products, the Carolina Herrera site has free (beautiful) giftwrapping and the option to choose samples/miniatures (including mini mascara/lip products). Shipping is free too. Handy to send direct to recipient.

If you sign up for the newsletter, you can get 10% off, taking the prices down to roughly match those of other sites. OR, if you're spending over £99, you can add code MAGICDUO for a free phone case, Heroes for Her perfume stick and your pick from a choice of miniatures (codes don't stack). I found gift sets here I hadn't seen elsewhere so, though not cheap, worth a look if CH was requested.

Ah, travel adapters @handmademitlove - thank you! He was moaning about not having one before he went on holiday last week. He probably bought one at the airport, but another wouldn’t do any harm!

I’m off to google best travel gifts!

Also (from my backpacking days) a quick drying micro fibre towel is an essential!

IlovePond · 15/12/2025 22:54

Thanks @Treetopps

Fillybuster · 15/12/2025 23:59

My runners snood thing turned up today - hurrah!

Busfriend · 15/12/2025 19:40

@Puffaliciousthanks for your update. I only ordered DDs two weeks ago so won’t hold out any much hope of getting it before Xmas. I did get an email confirmation and I did pay about a pound more that it was supposed to be just like the reviews said so 🤞

You never know, they could be trying to rush out the orders before the 25th. Fingers crossed 🤞

Any ideas for a small token gift for daughters male form tutor at secondary school. Don’t normally buy but he’s been very helpful this year. He’s a maths teacher and self confessed nerd. Doesn’t drink, no sweets/choc ,no coffee.

also, any idea where to buy nice cake decorations for a Christmas cake.

new look has 25% off (almost) everything if any use to anyone.

I bought DDs maths teacher a Tesco voucher and just wrote innit to treat himself. Figured it covered all bases!

Hi, I'm after a portable espresso maker. I was looking at a Waccaco one. Does anyone have any suggestions or discounts? I saw someone post about a discount on Rave coffee before but can't find it now unfortunately. Can anyone help please? ☺️

Jellybum2019 · 16/12/2025 02:15

Boots £10 Tuesday is now live.

a few Bull Dog grooming sets, some Benefit mini sets, a couple of Sol De Janerio bits and the usual other bits and bobs.

they had this unusual squishmallows set too and I haven’t seen anything like this in the order before

Yalz · 16/12/2025 02:42

Be careful if buying the wonderful Squishmallows at £10 (5” tall, apparently normally £30.99) from the Boots offer, as mentioned above.

Despite it saying that delivery was free I am unable to check out without being charged £3.95 for ‘drop shipping’.

I’ve paid it (with points, so it doesn’t feel like real money) but am writing to customer services to query the extra charge.

£10 Tuesday didn’t have many other great bargains that I noticed but there are gift sets and perfume which might make good presents, plus the IO toothbrushes.

Yalz · 16/12/2025 03:00

Hmmm. I’ve just done a test order of 3 lots of £10 Squishmallows and I’m not being charged shipping on those, even though it still says it’s ‘drop shipping’.

Maybe that’s the answer?

alfiebest · 16/12/2025 04:59

damn too slow on the squishmallows

IlovePond · 16/12/2025 05:23

There are also some no7 retinol products massively reduced for £10 Tuesday as well as a Margaret Dabbs foot product!

HouseWithASeaView · 16/12/2025 06:38

Thank you for all of the scarf suggestions! That was a nice variety of styles & price points. I went with the one from Berksha.
Was someone looking for the Traitors board game? I’m pretty sure I saw them in both Next & John Lewis yesterday.
