Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Would an oodie dressing gown work?

Flubadubba · 11/12/2025 13:34

I feel like I just got bargain of the month. Squishmallows marked down to 90p in Sainsbury's. Halloween themed, but DD loves stuff like that.

Not sure whether it was just our store, or all of them!

Broken12 · 11/12/2025 06:28

are these remote controlled? And if so are they are good for a 3 year old? My son has just started loving cars

For a 3yo I’d recommend some of the ones on Argos which are on the 2 for £20 deals or similar.

nothingtoseehereatall · 11/12/2025 14:59

Afternoon all, having basically finished my shopping I've been a bit lax here, sorry. Not spotted any deals either, and instead have a question.

I started a new job this year and they do secret santa, which I've never done before! My chosen person is a man who I don't know, but the website they used to pick is allows people to put notes and he's just put that anything "fun/ edible" is good (but not booze). £10 limit. Any ideas!?

IlovePond · 11/12/2025 15:49

@nothingtoseehereatall - how about a box of chocolate made of Christmas shaped items with some novelty socks?

I have just had a quick Google and there are some fun Xmas chocolate shapes starting at about a fiver.

IlovePond · 11/12/2025 15:50

RL shopping: Swizzels sweetie a/c down to £1.80, (which is annoying as I bought one a couple of days earlier at a higher price 😾).

SugarCookieMonster · 11/12/2025 16:03

Any offers on loccitane specifically the men’s range? Lavande Poivre Noir.

I think you've missed the boat for offers. They had 20% off in November and increased it to 25% for Black Friday.
There are a couple of items on Amazon where you can get 15% off if you subscribe and save but not on everything.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/12/2025 16:46

@Reastie nearly at page 38 so I reckon a new thread will be needed by tomorrow.

I've not kept up, but I did see a funny quote earlier about drinking bison gin whilst racing megladons around the house which could make a good thread title..

Alicorn1707 · 11/12/2025 16:51

@Whyisitsodifficult JL has a gift set for £56

My husband uses these and thinks the quality is pretty good. Also The Malt Miller have kits available online too... Enjoy xx🍻

Am hoping you lovely lot can help, my youngest is hot wheels mad but we just had his bday and he got so much stuff. We are stuck for a santa gift and I came across this he would love but I can't find it anywhere, can someone work their magic?! I dont mind spending up to £150 though I would dearly love less!

On return I am a student and can offer SB or unidays!

Just seen your post, we bought this for grandson in Smyth's around £50 (may have been £45...) if that's helpful...x

Giant pick a mix would be my vote! Or those M long party rings/oreos and a £5 Costa voucher!

I think I missed the candle mystery box offer? Is it still available/what was it? Or any other candle offers approx £20?

Have a look at Skye candles, they are gorgeous and come beautifully boxed with free P&P. I’ve got a referral for £5 off on the referral thread. They really are beautiful candles and diffusers. I love going into their shop in Glasgow and smelling all the different ones!

Hello, any idea where I can find some reasonably priced Bruder toy vehicles. Some of the prices are eye watering. Thanks for a wonderful thread!

I would recommend Barrett Driven vehicles, really impressive, half the price and lights and sounds which our Bruder doesnt!

They don't do free P&P any more unfortunately, but I agree, they are lovely. I have a Raspberry and white ginger candle on the go at the minute, and a winter warmer diffuser.

jocktamsonsbairn · 11/12/2025 18:10

@RainbowZebraWarriorah they did the last time I bought some and I never thought to check!! Thanks for the ooh I’ll need to try those scents!

@Iwaboite I miss our Bruder days and my DS’s face coming down to one of the huge ones on Christmas morning. I used to often find they were cheaper on one of the European Amazon sites rather than the UK site, even with the p&p added. So try Amazon France, Germany, etc and you may get lucky.

HouseWithASeaView · 11/12/2025 18:13

My very small recommendation is that Christmas bath fizzers are down to 50p in Primark

@AlfiesMum42 B&M has some milk straws in that flavour the milk and they had all sorts of different flavours when I was last in.

You could get a few fidgets, small pots of slime/play doh/ kinetic sand, personalised (or favourite character) bookmark, themed socks, a eugy 3d model (not cheap but it's a good activity to give you a bit more time in bed perhaps), Smart Games "Reverso" (fun for all the family), top trumps/uno/taco cat goat cheese pizza/"Eye Found It" (the Marvel version of this is only £6.71 at the minute and it's a great game), kids blue/pink shower mousse, small magic trick....

Add some of the above to choc coins and the other bits you already have and you'll be set.

To add to this, last year mine loved the mini tubs of Nutella from there, they came in a stack of about five

My cheese advent calendar took bloody ages to arrive. Then when they finally posted it out it spent a week at Glasgow sorting office before getting delivered!
Last year my cheese and pickled onion order for my brother never arrived and it took ages to get a refund from them.

I also had hassle getting my Anthropologie voucher to work but it did eventually. Had to log out and back in several times and then it randomly worked despite me not doing anything different to what I’d done before!

Ahhh, I recognise your name, yeah I think it was your posts that I remembered seeing! Lesson learnt here, I won't be using CC again. Wouldn't have been too bad if there was some communication from them but, I suppose it'll get here when it gets here. Thanks for replying ☺️
