Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

Reastie · 29/11/2025 20:25

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Hi All just wondering if anyone has actually received the £40 HC Advent calender - i was wondering about gifting a few of the bits but wondering if its suitable for that? A great deal regardless!

CarrotVan · 04/12/2025 16:14

My Fahlo order arrived this morning - I ordered on Sunday

IsThisLifeNow · 04/12/2025 16:17

Got my bargain cheese delivered today, very happy with it, most for me, but some as presents, and finally got a dispatched email on my first fahlo bracelet order, git another which they promise will be dispatched soon too.

Surprisingly, I got a dispatched email from candy kittens, but also a refund and cancellation email, so assuming they arent coming, but still a teeny, tiny spark of hope lives on.

Trawling through anthropology trying ti decide what to buy with my £20 voucher too, si thank you to everyone involved with these bargains!

I want a calendar but when will I use it? It’s too late to start now opening a door a day so do I get one and scoff them all in one sitting? It’s a high risk purchase.

@hby9628 I’ve ordered the children’s milk chocolate, the caramel, and the two a day ones

I'm going to take them apart and make little gift bags/boxes of chocolates to put in stockings

VeruccaSalty · 04/12/2025 16:34

I totally forgot that I signed up to Levi's with a December birthday. What did people do for cheap pants and socks?

Mads96 · 04/12/2025 16:35

Can anyone recommend affordable good quality golf balls? I know nothing about golf! 😂

IlovePond · 04/12/2025 16:42

@bizzey - Day Four was a mini vintage cheddar truckle so I have measured it. I wasn’t far off with my guess: 2” by 1/2”. I cut it as thin as possible and it got onto two large crackers with a bit left over for DH to try. It was very nice with the rest of the chutney.

I didn’t like Day One’s offering, so this was a nice surprise!

@MaybeItsTimeForMeNow - I got an £18 shower gel with my voucher, (once I realised you could only have one thing in the basket to get the full discount!) I did click and collect.

I was tempted by a Xmas decoration- but it would be a cold day in hell on the day I spend £20 on a decoration- even if it is free 😹

For whoever was asking how to get the Anthroperks voucher: You have to sign up for a new Anthropologie account and then sign up to their Anthroperks loyalty programme. Three days later they should send a £20 voucher - no minimum spend - full price items only.

It can be a bit glitchy - I had tried before and never got a voucher, but I tried with a different email and it came through.

Can the drinking chocolate be used without a velvetiser. Not sure if thats a stupid question. I am thinking about splitting them into my hamper gifts.

Yes - it’s just grated flavoured chocolate so can be popped in any or saucepan with milk, then heated on the hob or microwave.
I would think it would be quite nice in a hamper.

Carrie76 · 04/12/2025 17:12

I posted before about pyjamas for DS (13) he suffers terribly with anxiety. When asked he says there’s nothing he wants for Christmas as he doesn’t really leave the house anymore. He asked if the money people would normally spend on him could go towards extra presents for his siblings.

These are the pyjamas he loves, I’m trying to find something similar.

You could also add a mini whisk (whisking makes for a silkier drink texture) and a packet of mini marshmallows/candy cane/chocolate spoon to make a lovely mini hot chocolate bundle. Maybe a nice mug, too.

bizzey · 04/12/2025 17:12

@IlovePond thank you so much for taking the time to measure the cheese so perfectly 😄 😍!

I am sure it will be a fun thing to try when I get all my chicks home on Christmas Eve !

I ordered 2 boxes and chutney for the 15 th.

Hopefully the company will still have some left by then !!

@Carrie76 - I am sorry to hear that - it’s so hard. I can’t help with the pjs, but does he have a weighted blanket and/or a cuddle/gaming cushion, and/or an Oodie? Either or both might be things he would like as well.

I ordered a weighted blanket from a lovely company that offered a full refund if your child couldn’t get on with it. Mine couldn’t - so I sent it back with no problems.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately I missed the boat on this one as it is only available for collection and I am not near a store. So any recommendations for similar high quality ones would be appreciated. Thanks again

There are some options that come up with Google Lens. I assume you've tried them?

IlovePond · 04/12/2025 17:31

Btw: Some good reductions on chocolate a/cs in Sainsbury’s today. However, a fellow peruser of the chocolate naughtiness told me that some of them - e.g. the Lindt - were cheaper in TGJones on the high street.

DH wouldn’t join me on an unnecessary bargain hunt, so I settled for a Swizzels and a Haribo one that will be Xmas presents and a Cadbury’s one that I will be chomping through myself!

N96 · 04/12/2025 17:32

Definitely going for the hot chocolate bundle now as you suggested. Just need to find some good quality ones to make it a bit special

Are they these ones? If so the description says they're velour - does that sound right? Might help in searching for suitable new ones with a similar snuggly feel

Sainsbury’s also had some good reductions on Lego and Xmas Lego. Of course, I had missed the really good bargains, (empty shelves 😿), but there may be some left in your local store.

The Tonies were still available in my local Lidl. Xmas wear has been reduced already - I got some Lidl Xmas dkvks for 74p.

VikingNorthUtsire · 04/12/2025 17:35

Btw I can't find the posts asking about Haul orders from 11/11. But mine had been showing as "Order received" for 3 weeks so I messaged CS yesterday. They obviously gave someone a poke behind the scenes as it's now due for delivery on 16/12.
