What would I like for Xmas £20 budget?

We only do small presents and I’ve been asked what I’d like but it’s not as easy as it sounds.

The giver doesn’t have access to many decent shops, they will shop online but only really on Amazon.

I’m really stumped for what to suggest - the obvious idea is books but I usually read on Kindle. Most of the other things I’d like are over budget. Practical things like a calendar are already sorted.

What on Earth can I suggest?

I would ask for a bottle of champagne or a plant for the garden or a really nice cake.

luckylavender · 29/11/2025 07:16

Chocolate. Earrings. Board game. Nice hot water bottle.

Moreteaandchocolate · 29/11/2025 07:23

Bath / shower gel, fluffy socks, big mug for my tea, pyjamas, travel cup, nice coffee sachets for work

Worriedmrs · 29/11/2025 07:23

If someone asked me I would like a digital bathroom scale. I have a simple one I bought ages ago, tell me the weight and nothing else. The new ones like one from Eufy are fancy and you can connect it to an app.

noscoobydoodle · 29/11/2025 07:30

Bath oil (neals yard), cashmere or wool socks, wild refillable lip balm set,

Myfridgeiscool · 29/11/2025 07:32

I’d like some really nice coffee to use in cafetière and amaretti biscuits to go with it.
Nowt that need dusting!

Greyrock2828 · 29/11/2025 07:37

Neals yard lavendar bath salts - they smell amazing

Flummoxedpebble · 29/11/2025 07:42

Nordic socks pack of 5, from Nordic Socks U.K. They are not cheap, but they are having a Black Friday sale so they £22. I have just bought a pack as I have worn mine to holey destruction. I also found they have their own shop on Amazon. They have been a game changer for cosy feet in the winter for me! * I don’t have any connection to them, honestly!

Is there any point? Adults buying adults gifts worth £20

jyst tell them not to worry about getting anything

HushTheNoise · 29/11/2025 07:48

@Flummoxedpebble do they go holey quickly? I like the look of them.

I kind of agree, particularly when you have to the leg work for them.

Nuxe reve de miel lip balm in the glass pot with a brown lid. Brilliant stuff.
Houseplant in nice pot.

Rocknrollstar · 29/11/2025 08:00

Name a specific book you want to buy for kindle and ask for an Amazonvoucher

Bath oil (neals yard), cashmere or wool socks, wild refillable lip balm set,

None of these are £20!

Thanks for this...I've just sent to MIL as an idea of what to get me!!

Velvian · 29/11/2025 08:23

In my family, we've recently got into Casio 80s/90s style watches lots under £20, different colours and no charging needed.

I would also go for Kindle books, fluffy socks, long sleeve cotton tops, posh chocolate, hot chocolate sachets if you have a Velvetiser/milk frother (salted caramel and milk choc are my favourites).

CoastalGrey · 29/11/2025 08:26

I kind of agree it’s a bit pointless especially as thinking of something to suggest is stressing me out! But it’s important to them to do it 😩

I’d choose a book that I fancied reading and have that as an actual book instead of on the kindle.

Tryingatleast · 29/11/2025 08:29

Slippers/ pyjamas or a magazine or two and sweets!

Love the idea of the watches - where do you get them from?

I’ve had two pairs on rotation since last Christmas and they’re good as new.

So would I ... books don't have to be on a kindle even if that's how OP normally reads them.

Failing that, a bottle of fizz that can be bought from a local supermarket if you drink alcohol @CoastalGrey leave it up to them if they want to buy champagne, cava or prosecco or whatever.
