Whilst putting my tree’s up today and listening to Christmas music I got to thinking about my all time favourite Christmas song. This year I had Ring Out, Solstice Bells on repeat basically the whole time I decced the front room, what a fantastic tune!

Whats yours?

Christmas (Baby please come home) - Darlene Love.

And my favourite Carol is Hark the Herald Angels Sing, with the descant in the last verse.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 22/11/2025 10:34

@TheFallenMadonna100% agree on the best carol.

This is brilliant!

They also do a Christmas melody of pop songs from each year but nothing beats this!!

therewasafishinthepercolator · 22/11/2025 11:01

Adding Step into Christmas on there too.

Weird that it's always been one of my favourites and I always sing along but I'm not sure I know all the lyrics. Pretty sure I just shout nonsense words along to a lot of it.

If you've never heard Chiron Beta Prime you're missing out

Ha! Should have asked DH years ago. He's just found Charlie Brown Christmas on Facebook. And it's on Apple. Apparently I'm rubbish at searching. 😂

Keeping the dream alive, by Freiheit. Not technically a Christmas song, but intrinsically entwined with Christmas in my mind.

This is our family Christmas song. Also Greg Lake.

I only found out a year ago that the lyrics are "eat drink & be merry" in the chorus. I'm not really sure what I was singing before.....!

Killing in the Name - Rage Against the Machine. Remember driving home to my parents in 2009 and being very pleased it had knocked Justin Bieber off the top spot for the Christmas number one. And frankly it's more relevant today than ever.

I dont think that's what happened. They kept the X Factor winner off the top spot

Wasn't it? Maybe I misremembered - whatever they kept off was awful, I remember that much!

I think the campaign was just keeping the X Factor winner off no. 1 as they'd been no. 1 every year since it started. I don't think it was anything personal. But yes, it was awful
