Posting on behalf of the lovely @Reastie

This post is a work in progress and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread:

Mariah will be singing All I want for Christmas before we know it, and it's only 46 days until Christmas, so let's get those bargains, folks!

Since I suspect there will be quite a few cinema bookings to see Wicked coming up , don’t forget to check what discounts you can get via your bank accounts etc . For example First Direct My Perks offers two cineworld tickets for £10 including booking fees for shows 7 days a week at the moment.
NatWest and RBS offers Odeon and others as a discount code on packaged accounts. Club Lloyd’s gives 6 free a year . Taste card offers discounts at Vue. Also lots of work places offer cinema codes , as well as Tesco clubcard to use to buy them .

Also o2 Priority - just booked our two tickets for £9 at Vue - you just have to use the code within a week. Also 20% off food and drink which helps ease that particular sting!

I used blue light for Odeon tickets for Wicked this coming weekend and it was £26 for 2 adults and 2 children rather than over £60 booking direct. It's a bit of a faff buying vouchers then entering individual codes but definitely worth it.

Re K pop demon hunters, had an email from Smyth's this morning saying one of my pre-ordered funkos is on the way 🤞 had ordered from them and the Entertainer in the hope that one or the other would come through for me before Christmas as the release dates were different everywhere I looked. Amazon are now saying 5th December as well. I know funko aren't everyone's cup of tea but DS loves them and doesn't keep them in the box so they'll be played with here rather than collectibles.

I don’t recall any fluids being involved with the flamingo. You just feed it the powder and it shits it out (with much effort).

Doesn't it deposit it's poo which is then scooped up and recycled as more food for the disgusting creature into a water filled toilet bowl

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 15/11/2025 11:01

Can anybody recommend a place that does reasonably £ and good turnaround times on personalised wrapping paper? I’d love to get our dogs face on some for DHs upcoming birthday

SpamIAm · 15/11/2025 11:02

Ah I probably just didn’t put water in because…why would I want them playing with water-filled toilets in random rooms in the house 😂

Hello all - I do enjoy this ongoing thread for suggestions and have picked up some great ideas over the years!

This year I’m looking for any recommendations on:

A hoverboard for DS9 (have seen one in smyths but wondering whether to chance from a random online supplier that would be cheaper? Anybody bought one before and thought it was decent?)

a watch that you can make phonecalls to and from for kids WITHOUT needing a smartphone

aaaand ideas for a 3YO boy? He’s already got a balance bike, a hot wheels garage, loads of Lego, lots of arty stuff and stuff inherited from big bro so struggling a bit for ideas!

thank you all for any suggestions x

Just so you know, hoverboards are illegal to use on roads, pavements and most public places. Totally fine if you have a decent amount of private land accessible!

Sure there was an offer on Magnatiles or a recommendation of a different brand? But can’t find - can anyone help?

Also not bargainous but if you are struggling for ideas - https://www.theguardian.com/thefilter/2025/nov/15/best-christmas-gifts-ideas-filter-uk-2025

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz rim and raisin you say?

Thisisnotmyid · 15/11/2025 11:46

Not sure if it’s already been posted but if anyone likes M&S apothecary sets the heroes one is reduced from £60 to £30. It’s got full size items and a lovely wicker bag. I found it by typing in T201510

Oh lord that’s an unfortunate typo 🤣

Guess it would be an unusual gift although can’t imagine raisins up ones crevices are comfortable

weareallqueens · 15/11/2025 11:55

Anyone know if Adanola will discount for Black Friday?

Theraffarian · 15/11/2025 12:10

Just a heads up if you are placing a first order with SpaceNK they have popped a £10 welcome gift card in my order when I collected it . So might be worth splitting what you want between two orders if you are new to them . No minimum order on the gift card and free click and collect .

PeoniesAreMyFavouriteFlower · 15/11/2025 12:11

Quidco have 38% off today for premium users for Ninja Slushi. The website has the Creami Deluxe 10 in 1 Ice-Cream and Frozen Drink Maker down from £275.98 to £188.99. Plus another 10% off for new users, though that might invalidate the Quidco,

Has anyone tried buying it and seeing if cashback has tracked? Quite tempted.

Thanks so much for the personalised football!

My nine year old has nearly everything for his stocking but I'm struggling for his 12 year old big brother.

Any ideas anyone?

Hereslookinatyoukid · 12/11/2025 20:31

Oh yes I swear by shark and other major brands refurbished. We’ve always had basically new ones sent.

DSIL used to work for Black & Decker and we bought a number of 'refurbished' items through her (drills, dustbuster vacuum etc).
Refurbished meant it hadn't worked when it came off the production line so was repaired. So yes, new items.

Neja · 15/11/2025 13:19

Can anyone recommend a toy garage for almost three year old?

I spotted this. Niche. Xmas Grin

heartofsunshine · 15/11/2025 13:25

@weareallqueens they didn't last year or 23 and said it is not in line with their brand values. I have got what DD wanted full price as they keep running out and restocking so I was worried about ending up paying a ransom on vinted!

Famousthehero · 15/11/2025 13:26

Noticed some dollhouse kits on Amazon haul today, so might be worth checking for them on the next big price drop

I wanted to get him similar but better as it’s a big number IYSWIM? Buy wanted it to be from a smaller uk producer. I used the code on the taster bags and got them for £15 which im really pleased with!

Another thread title suggestion…the one with rim and raisin 🤣
