Posting on behalf of the lovely @Reastie

This post is a work in progress and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread:

Mariah will be singing All I want for Christmas before we know it, and it's only 46 days until Christmas, so let's get those bargains, folks!

I also have a £10 voucher from Next, which was a shock as they rarely offer money off. I have had quite a few items sitting in my basket for the last week or so whilst I dither on whether to buy them or not, so not sure if that’s made a difference.

IamChipmunk · 15/11/2025 08:19

nothing for me from Next but I pay for their delivery pass so I suspect I buy far too much from them to hit the algorithm for being sent a voucher 😂

weareallqueens · 15/11/2025 08:33

Thanks for the gift vouchers tip. I got an Odeon voucher for DDs classmates birthday - £12 for a £15 card. Contemplating buying one for myself for taking the DDs to see Wicked next week.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 15/11/2025 08:54

No idea if this is a good deal or not £409 for switch 2 bundle with mario kart and £10 of More points at Morrisons

Help please!

Does anyone have any recommendations for an electrical light mask thing?!
DD has mentioned one a few times and I keep going back to the Shark version but it’s expensive and the reviews seem mixed so if anyone has a personal recommendation they could give!
Thanks!

No offer for me either - i used the Emma money manager app recently and one of it's insights into my spending is that I spend more at Next than most people 😄

I researched these at the start of year, I think Shark & Current Body are considered the best. I got a Stylpro one for 99.99 which seemed to be the best of the cheaper offerings!

Friars have 10% off their chocolate, there’s an additional 10% off their taster bags. They’ve got some lovely looking chocolates. When you sign up for the 10% you need to screenshot or copy down the code as it doesn’t appear to come over in the email. The 10% off the three mini bags was automatic. They sell gorgeous looking violent and rose creams which a relative adores, and I love praline so, win win!

I'm voting for "The one with the Violent and Rose creams" as the next thread title.

Could I ask anybody who has the jellycat Pippa the black Labrador, whether the Santa hat is removable or not? Thanks very much x

Morning! We have Pippa, bought a few weeks ago. The hat is sewn on pretty securely. You could possibly unpick it but it wouldn’t be a quick ‘cut a few threads’

K-pop Demon Hunters dolls now available for pre order from Mattel - £175!!!! For 3 Barbies!! It’s such a shame that the only options for KPop DH fans is absolute crap from Temu or collectors items never meant to be taken out of the box.

hugsandpugs · 15/11/2025 09:46

My saggitarius tumbler just arrived from PLouise. It’s beautifully gift boxed too! ❤️

I think I prefer violent and rose creams 😆😆 they’ve got more bite.

Thanks for the heads up about the 20% off very going on for new account holders. DH signed up and got the meta quest 3 and the iPad we wanted and has done buy in 3 interest free. I’m pretty certain that’s going be the best prices for those items we could get.

weareallqueens · 15/11/2025 10:03

Does anyone know if Bawbags do any discounts? I’ve bought Oddballs in the past but DH prefers Bawbags. They’re pricey though. I’m also looking for a reasonably priced zipper thing, Hugo Boss or similar. Not many bargains to be had on either I don’t think but just in case anyone’s spotted anything!

marshmallowmix · 15/11/2025 10:04

Does anyone know if Fat Face do any discounts? Black Friday deals? Thanks

IlovePond · 15/11/2025 10:06

@GRCP - I do think it’s odd that UK suppliers haven’t been able to source KPOP Demonhunters stuff.

I was in Seoul recently, (short-notice holiday of a lifetime sort of thing), and couldn’t move for KPOPDH merch. It’s absolutely huge over there - Golden and Soda Pop blasting out from every shop! I came home with a couple of keyrings, a Tiger soft toy bag charm and a pair of socks.

One thing I did see in a chain bakery were beautiful themed cakes and biscuits. I was thinking that if anyone was good at baking it would be possible to make something similar at home for Xmas/birthdays: Tiger and magpie shaped biscuits, for example.

It should also be possible to get custom T- shirts and cards printed. There were companies recommended for these on a previous thread - does anyone remember or have any recommendations?

Hello all - I do enjoy this ongoing thread for suggestions and have picked up some great ideas over the years!

This year I’m looking for any recommendations on:

A hoverboard for DS9 (have seen one in smyths but wondering whether to chance from a random online supplier that would be cheaper? Anybody bought one before and thought it was decent?)

a watch that you can make phonecalls to and from for kids WITHOUT needing a smartphone

aaaand ideas for a 3YO boy? He’s already got a balance bike, a hot wheels garage, loads of Lego, lots of arty stuff and stuff inherited from big bro so struggling a bit for ideas!

thank you all for any suggestions x

For the 3 year old, I think consumables or personalised are a great way to go as they don't get passed on. So maybe a personalised top with his name and favourite character or some fun bubble bath. They're also about the right age for role play which means wooden toys are a decent option. Jaques have some nice ones in and code deal30 is giving 30% off some great prices.

Theraffarian · 15/11/2025 10:16

Since I suspect there will be quite a few cinema bookings to see Wicked coming up , don’t forget to check what discounts you can get via your bank accounts etc . For example First Direct My Perks offers two cineworld tickets for £10 including booking fees for shows 7 days a week at the moment.
NatWest and RBS offers Odeon and others as a discount code on packaged accounts. Club Lloyd’s gives 6 free a year . Taste card offers discounts at Vue. Also lots of work places offer cinema codes , as well as Tesco clubcard to use to buy them .

Thanks for this! It’s DH 50th very soon and I always get him rim and raisin Ritter sports for his birthday 😄 as he loves tha flavour. I wanted to get him similar but better as it’s a big number IYSWIM? Buy wanted it to be from a smaller uk producer. I used the code on the taster bags and got them for £15 which im really pleased with!

Theraffarian · 15/11/2025 10:18

That’s a shame. It’s such a big thing amongst kids primary and secondary. I guess there’s the demand to price it like that. But I know some little girls who would have loved receiving and playing with k pop demon hunters Barbie dolls.

Kittkats · 15/11/2025 10:31

@steelingmyself we bought this one in 2022 https://www.amazon.co.uk/SISIGAD-Hoverboard-Balancing-Two-Wheel-Bluetooth/dp/B09LV16J7P and definitely recommend. No idea how price compares to smyths now though!
