This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Hope you're all well. I've just put in a big Temu order for stocking bits and bits for work. They gave me £8 off my next order yesterday as two orders I had are arriving late and, when I contacted customer services about something, they also gave me a 20% off voucher, so I saved £20 on my order!

I’m wearing my SUPERSECONDS silver sea glass dangles attached to some earrings today. I did not need them, but they are very nice!

Re: Xander Kostromo - I can’t remember who bought from them and was unhappy, but if an item has arrived actually broken, I would ask for a refund. I know some of their items were listed as having bent pins, so there’s probably nothing to be done there but it might be possible to gently bend them back with a pair of tweezers.

Hi all, for those of you that have ordered footy kits from soccer00 and jersey00, can you remember how long they took to arrive? Don’t want to leave it too late

Theres a thread on here that a lovely mumsnetter has set up, SoMuchToBits. she has so much retro playmobil and makes little stories with them, it's so nice to read and see the scenes that she makes!

@Lobsterteapot
Order now or at least before half term as I remember people saying it took up to 6 weeks to arrive.

I keep looking at it thinking 🤔 is my youngest old enough for it. Then giving myself a shake as I've some my eldest has never bothered with and my youngest is pretty similar 🙈think I just like it myself lol

We have boxes and boxes of Playmobil in our shed. It was all DS1 and DS2 received for Christmas and birthday for a couple of years each. I think like you, I loved it the most, although I never wanted to play with it, just set it all up 🤦🏻‍♀️
Hopefully the grandchildren will enjoy it.

Lobsterteapot · 11/10/2025 10:14

Thank you @Dippythedino

Im thinking of getting some Korean snacks and sweets in for a hamper for my kpop mad dd.
Google is a minefield, not sure what site to trust, can anyone help please of the best place to order?
Or any supermarkets maybe?

I’m going to do the same for my DC - have you got an East Asian supermarket near you? That’s my plan - just have a rummage around one and see what snacks I can find

Custardandcream · 11/10/2025 10:54

Looking for recommendations for a 15 year old boy please! Nephew is very hard to buy for as he's pretty fussy about what brands he wears but is also not at all demanding and won't come out and ask for anything 🤦🏻‍♀️he'd never be ungrateful he'd just thank me then never use it and I want to get something he actually likes.
Got him a montirex t shirt and chocolate for his bday a few weeks back. He wears small men's.
No skincare as he's on medicated stuff for acne but aftershave is fine, he's into muy tai and football, also likes silver jewellery.
Help me! Budget £30ish ideally.

At this age 100% cash to buy what he wants, if you want to give a physical gift I’d give a token gift only.

Sorry to jump in, but I follow her threads, and don't think she's done a thread since spring time, but she often does one off ones for elections etc. Her next one will likely be for advent so I'll link here if I see it.

This was her last one.

For those looking for kpop demon hunters, the entertainer has funko pops for £13 each and should be delivered by 8th November!

I can’t actually see a delivery date when I check, only it will be delivered after the release date. Everywhere else is saying Jan/Feb 2026.

noodledoodler · 11/10/2025 11:43

I have a basket to check out from Banana Industries and can’t find a working code anywhere if anyone could please help me out? For sock lovers they have a mystery sock bundle, three pairs £8

Who do you bank with? I raised it with NatWest yesterday

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 11/10/2025 12:38

Waiting for the image to be approved, but a few bits and pieces from B&M and Home Bargains.

Home Bargins - mini tins of butter cookies, angel tin with chocolate coins, reindeer and snowman bath fizzes, and snowman marshmallow chocolate toppers - 99p each

B&M - reindeer cookies (59p), Santa tin with hot chocolate mix inside (£1] and the Grinch mint chocolate milk drinking straws (£1).

Most of these will go into advent calendars for the DC, and my DM. The little tins of biscuits reminded me of my DNan, and I will keep them after.

Oh I see what you mean - website says 5th November! (And sold out…) - maybe they have brought release forward? That would be great, my DC would love one

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/10/2025 13:21

Jumping in on the wrapping paper. I rate Aldi paper and it’s not expensive.

IlovePond · 11/10/2025 13:29

Lots of wooden playsets in my bigger Lidl just now, but nothing at all in the smaller one yesterday.

At 15 the best thing you can give him is cash. Perhaps some adults think that's not as nice as giving something to unwrap but he's not an adult and getting £30 when you're 15 is a really great gift.
